Abstract

The Covid-19 pandemic that has hit Indoensia for almost two years has caused changes in various aspects of life, especially having a significant impact on the public health aspect, thus demanding that people improve their health to be resilient to the threat of disease. This study aims to analyze the influence of product variants, promotions, prices,brand image on customer loyalty at the Rizal Bekasi Drug Store during the covid19 pandemic era. The research method used is descriptive qualitative method, with primary and secondary data sources from research results. The questionnaires were distributed using purposive sampling technique (samplingwith certain considerations), as many as 100 respondents. The instrument test was carried out with a Likert scale of 1 to 5 points using SPSS version 20. The results showed that 1. Product variants had a positive and significant effect on customer loyalty, 2. Promotion had a positive and significant effect on customer loyalty, 3. Price had a positive and significant effect on customer loyalty, 4. Brand image has a positive effect on customer loyalty. Keywords: Product Variants, Promotion, Price, Barnd Image, Customer Loyalty

Abstract

Since English as a global language, it becomes a require subject that need to be studied especially for college students. English rule is different from Indonesian language therefore it is not easy for Indonesian students to study it. Language is used for communication. In learning a language, it is needed to communicate actively. It means that students need to be active in class. The students who have interpersonal intelligence mostly can communicate effectively. They like to participate in a debate or discussion. And the students who have interpersonal intelligence is tendency easy in learning a language. As well as interpersonal intelligence, parents’ attention has an important contribution in supporting their children in education, especially in learning English. Good attention will emerge discipline, motivation, responsibility of students to study. And it will bring them to get a good grade at school. The objective of this study was to determine the relationship between interpersonal intelligence and parents' attention with English speaking skills. The research was conducted at Polytechnic LP3I Bekasi, and 60 students were the respondents. The quantitative method and correlation technique were used to obtain and analyze data, which shows a positive relationship between Interpersonal Intelligence and English Speaking Skills, a positive relationship between Parents’ Attention and English - Speaking Skills, and a positive relationship between Interpersonal Intelligence, Parents’ Attention simultaneously with English Speaking Skills. Therefore, teachers are expected to motivate students to increase their communication skills by doing a lot of interaction in their community. Moreover, teachers need to make a discussion with the parents in order to make the parents giving more attention to their children.

Abstract

Learning a language is not only about grammar and vocabulary but also about culture. Understanding culture allows language learners to give the right meaning to each word learned. English has a different culture from Indonesian. This study described the students' problems in using the second - person pronoun "you" in English, by looking at the term of social and cultural variables that are given in written form test. It involved the 40 students in ninth grade of SMP Sriwedari Malang, 80 students of SMA 3 Surabaya and 80 students of SMA 17 Surabaya. To examine the appropriateness of using second - person pronoun “you” the following steps were taken; analyzing the pronominals used by the samples, tabulating the pronominals used and the addressee interactions and the last step was calculating the percentage of pronominals used. The obtaining answer from the test explained that students’ answers were various. There were “you” as kinship term and others form were found to take the place of “you”. Kinship terms are “grandfather”, “aunt”, “uncle”, “mother”, “brother” and “father”. Other forms include “he”, “Herlina” (name), “Herman and “Levina” (names). It was found that 25.3% students used the correct form “you”, 69.05% students used   kinship terms   and 5.65% students used other forms. The analysis showed that there are some errors made by Javanese students in using the second - person pronoun “you” in English. It indicated that they still have culture interference in using second - person pronoun “you” in English.

Abstract

Requesting for help is one of illocutionary acts classified as a directive speech act. It performs by the speaker to get the interlocutor to do something. This study explored the expressions of requesting help used by Javanese people in Malang and the factors that influence them. This study described the speech act are used in asking for help in Javanese in Malang. It also presented the factors that influence these speech acts. The population in this study was the Javanese people in Malang. Some dialogues were taken randomly in different places with participants who have various backgrounds. The patterns of speech acts used in asking for help are very diverse. The factors that influenced their diversity are closeness, position, age, educational background, and norms of politeness.

Abstract

Self-confidence is a very important aspect for a person to develop his potential. The higher the confidence to speak in English, the smoother it will be to get the expected results. If you liken it, self-confidence is a key to open the door of doubt that has been a hindrance when you are trying to find a way out. The training method carried out is adjusted to the goal to be achieved, namely to increase self-confidence in speaking English. According to the needs of children, the material that needs to be developed at the Bekasi State Children's Light Community Service place was chosen, the theme "Self-Introduction and PostCard Writing in English" was chosen. Speech practice is usually one of the stages that is considered the most strenuous. It needs to be trained continuously to increase self-confidence in children when speaking English.

Abstract

Performance is the result of a process of completing work and the behavior needed to achieve the desired results. An embodiment of work performed by employees and is generally used as a basis or reference for evaluating employees in an organization. Efforts to improve employee performance, companies can choose several ways that are in accordance with the company's capabilities, including by providing compensation. In addition to compensation, factors that affect employee performance are work motivation. Motivation is the giving of individual impulses to act that causes the person to behave in a certain way that leads to goals. Psychologically, the enthusiasm and enthusiasm of an employee in carrying out his work is strongly influenced by work motivation. The motivation that exists in employees is expected by individuals to work hard and be disciplined in their work. The purpose of this study was to determine the effect of compensation and work motivation together (simultaneously) or (partial) on the performance of employees of PT. Panca Ekatama Agribusiness. The type of research conducted is descriptive quantitative research. The sample in this study were 66 respondents. The technique used is a random sampling technique, probability sampling. The data analysis method used is descriptive analysis and multiple linear regression analysis. The results of the descriptive analysis show that compensation is included in the very high category, work motivation is included in the high category, and employee performance is included in the very high category. The partial test shows that compensation has no positive and insignificant effect on employee performance and work motivation has a positive and significant effect on employee performance. And the results of the simultaneous test show that compensation and work motivation together have a positive and significant effect on employee performance. In this study, the coefficient of determination for Employee Performance was 0.477. This means that variations in employee performance can be explained by 47.7% by variations in compensation and work motivation. The remaining percentage of 52.3% indicates that there is still influence from factors or variables that are not included in this study. Among the factors that influence employee performance is the amount of compensation that can affect employee performance.Keywords: compensation, work motivation and employee performance.

Abstract

The purpose of this research is to analyze the process of formating of slang words in the transvestite community in Pasar Minggu. Slang is the use of informal words and expressions that they are not considered as standard language in daily conversation. The researcher collected the data used an interview method. The researcher interviewed the sample data taken from the transverstite found in Pasar Minggu. The researcher naturally asked the transvetite some daily words used and made a note. The data collected and analyzed to find ou the way how the transvestite constructed the words of slang. The data analyze used qualitative process method. The researcher analyzed each words taken from the sample data and descriptively constructed the words refers to the sociolinguistcs theory. From the twenty data sample taken from the transvestite the result shown that the use of slang language in transvestite community is increasingly widespread. The word used by transvestite community with having a regular and irregular pattern. Regular pattern with the suffix "ONG" sound, the vowel in the first syllable is replaced with the letter "E". Vowels in the second syllable replaced by "ONG", and there are also a few words were changed with suffix become "ES".

Abstract

Listening and speaking are fundamental communication skills. Language learners who study a foreign language need to learn these skills seriously to communicate well. Unfortunately, learning those skills is difficult for them. As podcasts have many benefits for the students, those resources help students to learn the language. The paper discussed how podcasts are helpful for foreign language learners to improve their listening and speaking skills. This literature review indicated several previous studies recommending using podcasts as learning support in improving listening and speaking skills. Abstract

Curriculum vitae is the most important thing when applying for a job, but unfortunately, most applicants cannot win the attention of the recruiters because their profile is too simple. Applicants should tell more about themselves, especially their abilities to pursue the recruiters’ attention. Conducting the training may help the students of PKBMN 23 Jakarta create a curriculum vitae that ATS friendly. By giving them training, hopefully, the participants will be able to create a good curriculum vitae ATS friendly and pass the screening by the ATS software.Keywords: CV, Tips, ATS Friendly

Abstract

A job interview is one of the processes in recruitment. This process is very important because the results of the interview will determine the destiny of job seekers. Preparing for a job interview is very important in order to be successful in winning it. Hence, the ability to deal with interview questions is needed by job seekers. The purpose of this community service activity is to help the students of PKBM Ristek Nusantara Jaya Jakarta in increasing their knowledge of job interviews. Implementing this activity started by providing information about preparing for a job interview and showing them some techniques in dealing with interview questions, and it continued with the activity of questions and answers, then ended with the evaluation activity. By having the knowledge of job interviews, participants can prepare themselves and have the confidence to be able to win a job interview successfully.Keyword : Self-preparation, Self-confident, Techniques of job interview
