Abstract

The incidence of work accidents in the construction industry particularly in Indonesia and generally in international shows an increasingly worrying trend given that either quantitatively or qualitatively the number of work accidents is very large compared to that of other industrial sectors. The main causing factors are mostly due to the workers’ behavior. This study aimed to determine the roles of organizational commitment in mediating the effects of Big Five Personality on workers’ adherence to occupational safety SOPs. The study belongs to observational analytic type with cross sectional study design. The study involved 140 samples taken randomly from workers at manufacturing department of PT. Boma Bisma Indra Pasuruan, East Java. The measurement of personality used five factor model (FFM) questionnaire of Costa & McRae. Hypothesis testing applied inferential statistical analysis. The  statistical method used was Structural Equation Model (SEM). The results showed that Organizational Commitment had lower roles in mediating the effects of Big Five Personality on workers’ adherence to occupational safety SOPs compared to that Big Five Personality in directly influencing the workers’ adherence to occupational safety SOPs at PT. Boma Bisma Indra Pasuruan.

Also, an analysis was carried out to determine the main dominant factor affecting work fatigue of the slaughterhouse workers. The design of the research used analytic observational and cross-sectional research. The population consisted of 51 workers determined by using census sampling technique, in which all the population was used as the samples. The analysis techniques used were logistic regression. The result of the research revealed that there was an effect of age, job tenure, and workload on work fatigue. Meanwhile, no significant effect found in the sleep quality toward work fatigue. Age was the main dominant factor affecting work fatigue. Keywords: age; job tenure; sleep quality; workload; work fatigue

The aimed of this studied was to analyse the flood disaster risk at Wonoasri Village, Tempurejo Sub-District, Jember District. To did that, this studied used quantitative method and descriptive-analysis. The analysis of disaster risk was gained through weighing and disaster risk analysis matrix as well as interview and observations. Samples used in this present studied were 110 respondents. They were Wonoasri people consisting of Curahlele and Kraton area. The leveled of flood disaster risk at Wonoasri Village, Tempurejo Sub-District, Jember District was in the yellow zone meaning that it was placed in the moderate risk leveled with a scale of 2 so the hypothesis statement of flood disaster risk leveled at Wonoasri Village, Tempurejo Sub-District, Jember District. To collected the data, this studied used questionnaire which measured the average score of overall respondents. Disaster risk could be overcome by decreasing the leveled of vulnerability and by increasing community capacity through educating them about disaster handling done through the socialization held periodically for the society and all organizations related to the disaster risk countermeasure. The sampling technique used was proportional sampling. The variables studied included flood disasters, flood disaster management, health impacts including myalgic, hypertension, shortness of breath, gastritis, conjunctivitis. Collecting data using questionnaires and interviews. Data analysis with logistic regression test and partial least square. The results showed that there was no effect of flooding on the incidence of myalgic, hypertension, shortness of breath, gastritis and conjunctivitis caused by other factors such as psychological stress, excessive activity, and personal hygiene. Abstract

The Tenggerese community is a community that inhabits the area commonly called "Tengger village". The community trust of the Tengger Tribe towards Mount Bromo and Mount Semeru is very large, so that it has created a close relationship between the people of Tengger Tribe and nature. The ethnobotany study is expected to not only be a documentation of traditional knowledge in the use of plants for subsequent generations, but also as one of the capital in the development and preservation of biological natural resources, especially for the use of traditional medicines in the Tengger tribe. This research is qualitative research. The results of the study indicate the occurrence of the Tengger Tribe Knowledge, Beliefs and Local Wisdom Inventory in Probolinggo Regency, with the decline in Tengger tribe knowledge and belief in the nature and benefits of medicinal plants. This was caused by the success of the health program by the government so that many residents took advantage of modern medicine when they were sick, Tengger Tribe who lived in Lumajang Regency showed the use of plants in every religious or cultural ritual or treatment, based on the teachings of their ancestors which is often done in the community around the informants from generation to generation. The Tengger tribe who lives in Pasuruan Regency shows that the rituals have been carried out from generation to generation and there are no special rituals when using the medicinal plants. The perceptions, attitudes and behavior of the community regarding the Tengger tribe medicinal plants in Probolinggo Regency showed a mediocre attitude because they had rarely used it as well as other forms of behavior, namely informants had not used the medicinal plants anymore, except for a few the older ones in the remote Tengger Mountain. In Lumajang, the type of traditional medicine in the Tengger tribe is actually still perceived and responded to quite positively by informants doing treatment in the traditional way within certain limits. However, they are more open to the patterns of modern medicine, especially among the younger generation. in Pasuruan Regency, residents perceive medicinal plants as plants that can treat a disease that they know from their ancestors before. Inventory of medicinal plants in the Tengger tribe domiciled in Probolinggo Regency there are at least 3 types of plants that are still used for medicinal purposes in the face of health problems such as red ferns, fennel and saffron plants. Whereas in Lumajang Regency uses include sugar cane plants, dlingu plants and banana plants for cases of health problems. The use of medicinal plants in Pasuruan Regency includes: dringu plants, black mustard greens, fennel, besides that there are also castor plants, muscle flour, ciplukan fruit, amethyst plants and ganjan plants.
