Abstract

Considered a regression model yi=f (ti)+ei ,i= 1,2 ,3 ,....,n where ei assumed iid N(0, ). To found the best estimator of fungtion f in regression waveletswill be associated with chosen threshold parameter t. The Cross-Validation method is a goodto choose the parameter t.

Abstract

Abstract: This research aims to improve mathematics achievement in SD Negeri 013 Sintong by implement cooperative learning model approach to structural Think Pair Square. Subjects were students grade III who have the academic ability of the heterogeneous. This research is a class action research with two cycles. Each a cycle has four stages, the stages are planning, action, observation, and reflection. The result from the observation page shows that teacher-student activities had performed well after action has been made. An increase in the number of students who achieved at UH KKM end of each cycle compared to the number of students who achieve KKM on base score, the number of students who scored 20 and 30 more than to the development of the number of students who received grades 5 and 10. An action is deemed successful when the number of students that reached the Minimum Mastery Criteria had increased by the first and second daily exams. The number of students that reached Minimum Mastery Criteria from the base score, the first and the second daily exams, in that order are 15%, 30%, dan 55%. The result of this research shows that the Think Pair Square Cooperative Learning Approaches can improve the mathematics achievement from the students of class III SD Negeri 013 Sintong at the second semester of academic years 2014/2015. Abstract

Kenyataan banyak mahasiswa mengalami kesulitan dalam pembuktian matematis. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui tingkat penguasaan dan kesulitan mahasiswa dalam membaca bukti dan mengkonstruksi bukti. Subjek penelitian ini adalah mahasiswa pendidikan matematika FKIP UR yang sedang kuliah Analisis Real yang berjumlah 12 orang. Instrumen penelitian ini adalah lembar soal tes kemampuan membaca bukti dan mengkontruksi bukti, lembar angket, dan pedoman wawancara. Teknik analisis data adalah diskriptif kuantitatif dan kualitatif. Hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa (1) Rata-rata kemampuan membaca bukti adalah 42,2  tergolong dalam kategori rendah; (2) Rata-rata kemampuan mengkontruksi bukti adalah 40,0 tergolong dalam kategori rendah. Abstract

Abstract: This research is classroom action research that aims to improve learning process and to increase mathematics outcomes by applied the learning model of Problem Based Learning. The subject of this research is students in VII3 class of SMPN 8 Pekanbaru in academic years 2017/2018, which amounted to 36 students, consist of 17 boys and 19 girls. The research consist of two cycles, each cycle has four stages, which are planning, implementation, observation, and reflection. The instruments of data collection in this research were observation sheets and students Mathematic tests. The observation sheets were analyzed in qualitative descriptive, while the students mathematic tests were analyzed in statistic quantitative descriptive. The qualitative descriptive showed an improvement of learning process from before the action to the first and second cycle. Most of students were very confidenced and actived in learning process, such as while they were finished mathemathic’s problems that given, presenting the result of problems and giving the conclusion of learning.The results of this research showed the number of students that reach Minimum Mastery Criteria (KKM) for knowledge increase from the basic score (38,89%) to (55,56%) at the first test and to (72,20%) at the second test. For the skills, the score increase from (55,56%) at the first test, to (69,44%) at the second test. The results of this research showed that appication of the learning model of Problem Based Learning can improve learning process and increase mathematics outcomes for students in VII3 class of SMP Negeri 8 Pekanbaruin academic years 2017/2018 for the subject matter Algebra Operations and Functions.Keywords : Mathematics Outcomes, Problem Based Learning

Abstract

Most of the lecturers do not give great attention or not considered the importance of teaching materials. This is reinforced by the lack of existed teaching materials that to supports the lectures. This study aims to develop competency-based teaching materials in for the subjects of Initial Value Problem and Boundary Condition (IVPBC) to build students higher-order thinking skills. This research is a development research consisting of three main stages, namely preliminary analysis, product design, and development. The object of this research is competence-based teaching materials in the subject of the initial value problem and boundary condition itself. After designing the teaching materials, then it was tested and validated by experts. The instrument used is a validation sheet consisting of 35 statement items. The result of the research shows that all validators have approved every aspect of assessment of teaching materials that are (1) relevance, (2) accuracy, (3) completeness of the presentation, (4) presentation system, (5) conformity of the presentation with the demand of student-centered learning, (6) presentation technique, (7) Indonesian language compliance and (8) legibility and communicativeness. As the conclusion, the developed teaching materials are valid and can be used on a wide scale of teaching.

Abstract

Limited learning instruments for innovative mathematics where students are used as learning centers in accordance with the demands of the 2013 curriculum. The innovative learning instruments referred to in this study are a learning tool in the form of learning implementation plans (RPP) supplemented by student worksheets (LKPD) based on experiential learning model. This model allegedly corresponds to the characteristics of teaching materials and characteristics of students. This study aims to produce learning tools based on experiential learning models on the material of cube and beam of class VIII SMP with a high level of validity and practicality. The form of this research was development research (R & D) using ADDIE development procedure; analyze, design, development, implementation, and evaluation. The object of this study is to develop a learning instrument based on experiential learning model on the material of cube and beam of class VIII SMP itself. After the RPP that is equipped with LKPD is declared valid by the expert, a trial is conducted on a larger class to examine the practical aspects. The subjects of the trial were 38 eighth grade students of SMP 21 Pekanbaru. The instrument used is a validation sheet consisting of 34 statement items and student response questionnaires to LKPD. The results of the study are that all validators have agreed on every aspect of assessment of the learning instrument, namely aspects of 1) format of learning instrument, 2) activities of the entire contents of learning instrument, 3) content of learning instrument, 4) pictures or graphics, and 5) language / text and 6 ) overall assessment of learning instrument. Then based on the results of data analysis about student response questionnaires to LKPD, it is obtained that 95.5% is with a very practical category. It can be concluded that innovative learning instruments in the form of RPP equipped with LKPD are based on experiential learning model on cube material and grade VIII SMP beam can be used in learning with a high level of validity and practicality.

Abstract

Abstract: The background of this research is the restrict of mathematics learning instruments as supporting learning referring to 2013 Curriculum. This research aimed to develop mathematics learning device that are syllabus, Lesson Plan (RPP), and Students Worksheet (LKPD) using experiential learning model on prism and pyramid of 8th grade.This type of this research is development research (R & D) using the 4D development procedure; define, design, develop and desseminate. The valid learning device then tested in two stages, the small group trial with subjects are 10 students of class VIII SMP Negeri 1 Pekanbaru and large group trial with subjects are 35 students of class VIIIHL SMP Negeri 1 Pekanbaru. Based on the data analysis and discussion can be concluded that the syllabus, RPP, and LKPD are valid with an average value for the syllabus is 3.84, the average value for the RPP is 3.73, and the average value for the LKPD is 3.58, and LKPD is practical to use by learners class VII with an average value for the small group trial is 98.75% and the average value for large group trial is 94.8%.Key Words: Learning Instruments, Experiential Learning Models, Validity and Practicality

Abstract

Abstract: This research was done due to the problem found by the teachers' difficulties in developing learning instruments based on Curriculum 13. It needed certain learning instruments to increase students’ knowledges and makes them able to solve problems in their daily life. This research was purposed to make a syllabus, lesson plan, and LAS by using PBM (Problem Based Method) in System of Two Variable Linear Equations Material for Junior High School Students Grade VIII. It was Research and Development design with 4-D models; defining (pendefinisian); designing (perancangan); developing (pengembangan); disseminating (penyebaran). This research was done until third model because of the financial limit. The instruments used were learning instruments validation paper and questionnaire. Syllabus, leasson plan, and LAS were validated by three validators, then it revised and the researcher did tryout test for a small group (consisted of nine students) and large group (consisted of twenty students) at SMPN 14 Pekanbaru. Based on the analysis result, it showed that the validation for syllabus, lesson plan, and LAS with a Likert scale by average 3.70, 3.80, and 3.77 was valid. Besides, for the questionnaire result showed that 88.3% for small group and 95.2% for large group. Based on analysis result and explanation, it can be concluded that syllabus, lesson plan, and LAS by using PBM (Problem Based Method) in System of Two Variable Linear Equations Material for Junior High School Students Grade VIII is practical and suitable for Junior High School Students Grade VIII.Key Words: Problem Based Method (PBM), Mathematics Learning Instruments, System of Two Variable Linear Equations, Validity and Practicality.

Abstract

The subject of this research is student of class VIII.3 SMP Muhammadiyah 2 Pekanbaru in the secondsemester academic years 2017/2018, which amounted to 25 students. The research consisit of two cycles, each cycle has four stages, which are planning, implementation, observation, and reflection.At the end of every cycle the quiz will be implemented. The instruments of data collection in this research were observation sheets and students Mathematic tests. The observation sheets were analyzed in qualitative desciptive, while the students’ Mathematic tests were analyzed in quantitative descriptive. The analysis result of observation sheets indicated the learning process in cycle I were better than learning process in before action and learning process in cycle II were better than learning process in cycle I. Most of students were very confidenced and actived in learning process,such as while they were finished mathemathic’s problems that given, presenting the result of problems and giving the conclusion of learning. Number of students that reach Minimum Mastery Criteria increase from basic score to quiz I and II. The results of this research showed an increasing number of students learning mathematicsabout knowledge of the basic score (20%)to the first quiz (56%) to the second quiz II (80%). Results of this research indicates that appication of the learning model of Problem Based Learning can improve learning process and increase mathematics achievementfrom the students at class VIII.3 SMP Muhammadiyah 2 Pekanbaru in the second semester academic years 2017/2018.Key Words: Mathematics Achievement, Problem Based Learning, Class ActionResearch

Abstract

Abstract: This research was conducted due to the importance of learning instruments as the lesson plans which is arranged by teacher in order to achieve to learning goals. The available of learning instruments is limited, and does not refer 2013’s Curriculum yet. The purpose of this research is to develop the mathematics learning instrument: syllabus, lesson plans (RPP), and student worksheets (LKPD) using the experiential learning model on circle subject for 8th grade students that is categorized as valid and the LKPD is categorized as practical. This research used Research and Development (R&D) model with ADDIE procedure; analyze, design, development, implementation, and evaluation. The research instruments that used in this research were learning instruments validation sheets and student response questionnaires. Syllabus, RPP, and LKPD validated by 3 validator and revised according to suggestion from validator. The valid LKPD then tested in two stages, the small group trial and large group trial. According to the result of validation data analysis of learning instruments, those were categorized as very valid with the average score for syllabus was 4.56, for RPP was 4.61, and LKPD was 4.58. According to the result of student response questionnaires the LKPD was practical with the percentage reaches 90.84% in large group trials. According to the result of data analysis and the discussion, it can be concluded that the learning instruments using the experiential learning model on circle subject were very valid, and the LKPD were very practical to be used by 8th grade students of junior high school.Key Words: Experiential Learning Model, Mathematics Learning Instrument, Circle.
