Abstract

This article aims at exploring the profile of school counsellor’s competency in South Sulawesi, Indonesia, and factors that affected it. The study used quantitative approach, involving four independent variables, age, work experience, educational background, and professional certification experience of the school counsellor, and one dependent variable, the score of the competency test. The population of the study was 1949 school counsellors who took competency test administered by the Ministry of Education and Culture in 2015. There were 322 samples taken using proportional random sampling technique, representing school counsellors from SMP (junior high school), SMA (senior high school), and SMK (vocational schools). The result of the study showed that the average score of the competency test was still below the minimum standard set by the Government. The study also presented that there was a negative influence between age and the score, and positive influence between educational background and teacher certification program, and the results of competency test. Yet, it was found there was no significant influence between working experience and the results of competency test.

Abstract

Penelitian ini dilatarbelakangi kenyataan bahwa peserta didik tamatan jenjang pendidikan dasaryang memasuki sekolah kejuruan, belum semuanya didasarkan atas peminatan peserta didik yangdidukung oleh potensi dan kondisi diri secara memadai sebagai modal pengembangan potensisecara optimal, seperti kemampuan dasar umum (kecerdasan), bakat, minat dan kondisi fisik sertasosial budaya dan minat karir mereka. Tujuan penelitian yaitu untuk mengetahui inventoripeminatan karir bidang keahlian bisnis manajemen efektif dalam menggambarkan kemampuanbelajar siswa pada jurusan bisnis manajemen. Penelititan ini menggunakan tehnik pengumpulandata melalui angket, observasi dan wawancara. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa InventoriPeminatan Karir efektif untuk mengukur peminatan secara akurat.

Abstract

The main problem examined in this research is students’ learning stress in Mathematics subject using Problem Focused Coping technique. The research aims at discovering (i) the degree of students’ learning stress in Mathematics subject before and after implementing Problem Focused Coping technique, (ii) the effectiveness of Problem Focused Coping technique in solving students’ learning stress in Mathematics subject at SMPN 1 North Galesong. The populations and samples of the research were class VIII students at SMPN 1 North Galesong of academic year 2015/2016 who were identified to experience stress in Mathematics subject with the total samples 38 students, consisted of 19 students were in the control group and 19 students were in the experiment group. The instruments used were questionnaire and observation. The data of the research were analyzed by using descriptive analysis and inferential statistics analysis with t-test. The result of the research reveal that (i) the degree of the students’ learning stress in Mathematics subject before implementing Problem Focused Coping technique is in high category; then, the students’ learning stress decreases after implementing Problem Focused Coping technique, which is in medium category, (ii) the Problem Focused Coping technique is effective in solving the students’ learning stress in Mathematics subject at SMPN 1 North Galesong.

Abstract

This study aims to (1) describe the need for pictorial multiple intelligence inventory for early grade students, (2) to find out the description of inventory forms, (3) to test usability, accuracy, and feasibility of the inventory, and (4) to know validity and reliability of the Inventory. The method of this research is a development research by using the research stages of Borg and Gall development research. Data is collected through interview, observation, and questionnaire, and the data were analyzed descriptively. The results showed that (1) inventory was needed by teachers and students in Darul Istiqamah Bongki, (2) The inventory was developed using orthogonal item extracts with alternative choices Yes and No. The inventory consists of eight sessions representing each Multiple Intelligences. (3) the results of expert validation tests show inventory products included in the criteria are very useful, very feasible and very appropriate. (4) the results of the validity test using Product Moment Correlation also show good validity on inventory, while the results of the reliability test with Cronbach Alpha show an alpha value of 0.729> 0.6 so that inventory has good reliability. This means that the substance of the Pictorial Multiple Intelligences Inventory developed has met the criteria of useful, feasible and appropriate, valid and reliable so that it can be used as a tool to map the plural intelligence of early grade students.

Abstract

This study aims to describe (1) the negative self-concept of the students in Madrasah Aliyah DDI Kanang in Polewali Mandar Regency; (2) the implementation of narrative counseling to improve the self-concept of the students in Madrasah Aliyah DDI Kanang in Polewali Mandar Regency; and (3) the impacts of the implementation of narrative counseling to improve the self-concept of the students in Madrasah Aliyah DDI Kanang in Polewali Mandar Regency. This study used the quasi-experimental design with the quantitative approach. The sample of the study was 20 students in the 11th grade of Madrasah Aliyah DDI Kanang in Polewali Mandar Regency. Data were collected through questionnaires, observations, and interviews and analyzed using the Independent Sample t-Test. The study found that the self-concept of most students in Madrasah Aliyah DDI Kanang in Polewali Mandar Regency was at the moderate level and there was quite a significant difference in the scores of the students’ self-concept before and after the application of narrative counseling. These results suggest that narrative counseling is effective in improving the self-concept of the students in Madrasah Aliyah DDI Kanang in Polewali Mandar Regency.

Abstract

The study aimed at discovering (1) the description of the need of “problem box  e-counseling” Android-based application as a medium for students’ problem disclosure, (2) the prototype of “problem box e-counseling” Android-based application as a medium for students’ problem disclosure, and (3) the acceptance of “problem box e-counseling” Android-based application as a medium for students’ problem disclosure. This study is a development, The data were collected by interview and questionnaire techniques. This study revealed that (1) there is a high need of “problem box e-counseling” Android-based application as a medium for students’ problem disclosure at SMA Islam Athirah I Makassar (2) the prototype of “problem box e-counseling” Android-based application as a medium for students’ problem disclosure at Athirah I Islamic High School Makassar (3) the acceptance of each subject of research expert test, namely the counseling media expert, technology expert in education, and counseling practitioner in the initial product test showing positive response. Thus, the application can be accepted, and based on a test involving 10 students and a school counselor in the small group test; it indicates a very positive response (high), so it can be accepted.

Abstract

Penelitian ini diarahkan untuk mencapai tujuan berikut: (1) Untuk mengenali aspek kompetensi yang perlu ditekankan dalam program penguatan kompetensi konselor sekolah, (2) Untuk menggambarkan masalah yang dialami oleh konselor sekolah dalam pengembangan kompetensi, dan (3) untuk mengenali bentuk pengembangan kapasitas yang dinilai sesuai dengan kebutuhan dan keadaan konselor yang bersifat sementara di Makassar. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kuantitatif yang dikombinasikan dengan pendekatan kualitatif. Populasi penelitian ini adalah konselor sekolah yang bekerja di sekolah menengah pertama, sekolah menengah atas, dan sekolah kejuruan di kota Makassar berjumlah 256. Sampel diambil sebanyak 25% dari populasi, yaitu 69 orang dan dipilih dengan teknik proportional random sampling. Pengumpulan data menggunakan kuesioner, wawancara dan FGD. Analisis data meliputi analisis kuantitatif dengan statistik deskriptif dan analisis kualitatif. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa (1) tingginya indeks kebutuhan konselor sekolah di Kota Makassar untuk mendapatkan penguatan pada semua titik kompetensi yang tercakup dalam sepuluh kompetensi inti konselor, (2) masalah yang dialami oleh konselor sekolah di Makassar. Kota dalam mengikuti penguatan kegiatan kompetensi, peluang yang tersedia bagi konselor sekolah untuk mengikuti penguatan kompetensi, kurangnya dukungan finansial, kesulitan meninggalkan tugas karena keterbatasan konselor sekolah, (3) dalam rangka memperkuat kompetensi yang lebih sesuai dengan kebutuhan dan keadaan konselor sekolah, beberapa hal yang perlu dipertimbangkan, termasuk: (a) waktu pelaksanaannya harus dilakukan pada waktu yang tidak mengganggu beban kerja di sekolah; (b) menggunakan model pelatihan berbasis sekolah; dan (c) penggunaan kombinasi narasumber dari universitas dan fasilitator konselor sekolah yang terlatih.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui; Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui: (1) Gambaran pelaksanaan teknik self management untuk mereduksi perilaku kecanduan gadget dalam jejaring sosial pada siswa SMA Nasional Makassar (2) Gambaran perilaku kecanduan gadget dalam jejaring sosial siswa SMA Nasional Makassar sebelum dan setelah diberi teknik self management dan (3) Hasil penerapan teknik self management dapat mereduksi perilaku kecanduan gadget dalam jejaring sosial pada siswa SMA Nasional Makassar. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kuantitatif dengan jenis penelitian eksperimental. Populasi dalam penelitian ini adalah siswa kelas XI SMA Nasional Makassar sebanyak 39 siswa pada Tahun Ajaran 2015/2016. Sampel penelitian sebanyak 10 siswa. Pengumpulan data dengan menggunakan instrumen angket dan observasi. Analisis data menggunakan analisis statistik deskriptif dan pengujian hipotesis. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa: (1) Pelaksanaan teknik self management terdiri atas 4 tahap yaitu tahap monitor diri, pengaturan lingkungan, evaluasi diri, dan pemberian penguatan, pengukuhan, penghapusan, atau hukuman (2) Tingkat kecanduan gadget dalam jejaring sosial pada siswa sebelum diberikan teknik self management berada pada kategori sangat tinggi dan setelah diberikan teknik self management berada pada kategori rendah (3) Penerapan teknik self management dapat mereduksi kecanduan gadget dalam jejaring sosial pada siswa di SMA Nasional Makassar.

Abstract

Abstract. This study aimed to measure the adaptability of the Indonesian version of the Career Self-Management Scale (CEDLE Scale) and obtain a model fit from that scale. The CEDLE Scale was developed by Lent, et al in 2017. The process of adapting the CEDLE scale using the backward-translation technique method is translating the original scale into the Indonesian version, consulting with linguists, and translating back to the original language version. The population in this study were students in the province of South Sulawesi who registered in the 2021/2022 academic year. The sampling technique used stratified random sampling. The sample of this research is 320 students; 170 females and 150 males. This research instrument uses the CEDLE scale, which consists of 3 (three) indicators, namely Personal mastery (PM), Verbal persuasion (VP), and Vicarious learning (VL). The CEDLE scale consists of 12 items, and 8 items related to the emotions felt when conducting career exploration. The data analysis technique used a validity test concerning the corrected correlation item value and item reliability concerning Cronbach and McDonald's alpha values. Furthermore, the data were analyzed using confirmatory factor analysis (CFA). The results showed that the adaptation of the CEDLE scale was in the Fit Index category with values of chi-square (90.263/51), RMSEA (0.053), GFI (0.950), CFI (0.963), GFI (0.952).

Abstract

The primary issue of this research is the development of career guidance and counseling medium. This research aims at identifying (1) an illustration of necessity level of the development toward the career guidance and counseling flipchart medium in choosing major in university towards students of SMAN 1 Tanggetada. (2) The prototype of career guidance and counseling medium of choosing major in University towards student of SMAN 1 Tanggetada. (3) The validity and the practical media of career Guidance and Counseling medium of flipchart in choosing major in University towards students of SMAN 1 Tanggetada. This research applies researching model of ADDIE which consists of 5 (five) steps of research. The technique of collecting data uses interview and questionnaire. The results shows ; (1) the result of necessity analysis conducted in SMAN 1 Tanggetada shows that the teachers of Guidance and Counseling and the students need career guidance and counseling flipchart medium in choosing major in university; (2) the prototyped career guidance and counseling flipchart medium in choosing major in university consist of Flipchart, Guideline book and material as well as reading script concerning to career; (3) the result of validity and practicable show that career guidance and counseling flipchart medium is valid and practice therefore deserved to be applied in SMAN 1 Tanggetada to help students in choosing major at university.
