<![CDATA[ABSTRAKPenelitian ini berjudul “Kemampuan Siswa Kelas VIII SMP Negeri 18 Banda Aceh Menyimpulkan Isi Teks Persuasi”. Populasi penelitian ini adalah siswa kelas VIII SMP Negeri 18 Banda Aceh yang berjumlah 120 orang dan sampel yang diambil sebanyak 30 orang siswa. Metode yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah metode deskriptif dengan pendekatan kuantitatif. Data penelitian ini dikumpulkan melalui teknik nontes dalam penugasan. Hasil kemampuan siswa kelas VIII SMP Negeri 18 Banda Aceh menyimpulkan isi teks persuasi adalah 68,16. hasil yang diperoleh siswa dari menyimpulkan isi saran adalah 56,5, hasil yang diperoleh siswa dari menyimpulkan isi ajakan adalah 85,3 dan hasil yang diperoleh siswa dari menyimpulkan isi arahan adalah 58,7. adapun hasil keseluruhan dari penelitian ini menunjukan bahwa nilai yang diperoleh siswa pada rentang sangat baik berjumlah 7 orang siswa (23,33%), pada kategori baik berjumlah 8 orang siswa (26,66%), pada kategori cukup berjumlah 10 orang siswa (33,33%), pada kategori kurang berjumlah 5 orang siswa (16,66%) dan pada kategori sangat kurang berjumlah 0 orang siswa (0%). Dengan demikian, menyimpulkan isi teks persuasi tergolong dalam kategori cukup.Kata Kunci : kemampuan siswa, menyimpulkan, teks persuasi.ABSTRACTThis research is entitled "The Ability of Class VIII Students of Banda Aceh State Middle School 18 Concluding the Contents of Persuasion Text". The population of this study was the eighth grade students of SMP Negeri 18 Banda Aceh, totaling 120 people and the samples taken were 30 students. The method used in this research is descriptive method with a quantitative approach. The data of this study were collected through non-test techniques in the assignment. The results of the ability of the eighth grade students of SMP Negeri 18 Banda Aceh concluded that the contents of the persuasion text were 68.16. the results obtained by students from concluding the content of the suggestion is 56.5, the results obtained by students from concluding the content of the invitation are 85.3 and the results obtained by students from concluding the content of the direction is 58.7. As for the overall results of this study, it shows that the scores obtained by students in the excellent range are 7 students (23.33%), in the good category there are 8 students (26.66%), in the sufficient category there are 10 students (33 , 33%), in the less category there were 5 students (16.66%) and in the very less category there were 0 students (0%).
