Abstract

Financial Technology (fintech) lending atau yang lebih dikenal dengan peer to peer lending (P2PL) merupakan salah satu fintech yang tumbuh dengan pesat. Dalam menjalankan kegiatan usahanya platform fintech lending selalu meminta data pribadi calon peminjam (borrower) yang seringkali disalahgunakan, padahal data pribadi merupakan privasi dan hak asasi seseorang. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menemukan landasan konstitusional perlindungan data pribadi baik formil maupun materiil. Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian yuridis normatif dengan menggunakan pendekatan undang-undang. Sumber data berasal dari data sekunder berupa bahan hukum primer dan bahan hukum sekunder. Data yang diperoleh dilakukan analisis  deskriptif dengan menggunakan pola pikir deduktif. Berdasarkan penelitian ditemukan bahwa landasan konstitusional fintech lending secara khusus tertuang dalam Pasal 28 UUD 1945. Dengan demikian, keberadaan data pribadi tersebut harus dilindungi oleh hukum dalam bentuk undang-undang agar mempunyai daya ikat yang kuat dan dapat memberikan sanksi yang menjerakan bagi para pelanggar hukum mengingat perundang-undangan yang terkait dengan transaksi fintech lending yang telah ada seperti POJK No.77/2016 belum mampu memberikan jaminan perlindungan terhadap keamanan data pribadi konsumen. Pengambil kebijakan perlu melakukan pembaharuan hukum melalui pembentukan undang-undang perlindungan data pribadi yang melindungi para pihak dalam transaksi fintech lending khususnya atau transaksi berbasis teknologi informasi pada umumnya.

Abstract

Teaching English in university setting for non-English department is many times considered to be a frustrating experience, with th: teachers' complaining of the difficulties in managing the class. both because of the many classes to teach and the big number of the students in the class. This article is aimed at taking a look at how teachers are able to reflect on their own teaching in a way that they are searching within their experiences of what could be best taken by their students in leaming English. This article will be focused on 18 English teachers rvho are asked to fill in questionnaires about their own teaching practice, the reasons behind the practice. the problems they encounter, and their golls in teaching, as well as their expectations. The results of the study show the fact that the teachers are teaching grammar as the main material though they are aware of its being ineffective, and yet they seem to be unable or unwilling to explore other options. There are also certain issues that the teachers address such as the goals of targeted competence and the abundance of available source in internet. All of the teachers share the same expectations of the possibility in teaching the English skill independently. including speaking and writing skills. However, they reluctantly think of ways to realize such expectations as they felt that they are being restricted with the design of English classes.

Abstract

Task-Based Learning (TBL) merupakan metode pengajaran bahasa yang menitikberatkan pada pemberian tugas-tugas berjenjang disesuaikan dengan kemampuan pembelajar. Artikel ini bertujuan mengobservasi penerapan Task-Based Learning (TBL) dalam pelatihan bahasa Inggris bagi personel Polrestabes Semarang dengan topik bahasan kriminalitas. Metode TBL ini diterapkan dengan memberikan pre-test dan post-test pada 20 personel polisi . Ada 3 (tiga) tugas yang diobservasi pada pembelajaran ini, yakni kosa kata, arti berbasis konteks, dan struktur bahasa yang sederhana. Hasil menunjukkan bahwa penerapan TBL ini cocok untuk personel kepolisian yang dalam kasus ini mempunyai keragaman latar belakang kemampuan bahasa Inggris. Selain itu, tugas-tugas tersebut mempunyai ciri yang terstruktur dan saling berkelanjutan, sehingga tingkat kesulitannya akan terkontrol, yang mana pada akhirnya penguasaan kosa kata akan lebih mudah.Kata kunci :  Task-based learning, kosa kata, pre-test, post-test

Abstract

Artikel ini bertujuan untuk melihat bagaimana project based learning bisa diterapkan untuk pengajaran penulisan deskriptif pada siswa SMM Arrido Semarang. Pembelajaran dilakukan pada 25 siswa SMM kelas X,XI, dan XI dengan menitik-beratkan pada inisiasi projek yang sesuai dengan minat siswa kemudian dikhususkan pada bagaimana menulis deskriptif sebagai bagian dari project besar tersebut. Hasil kegiatan menunjukkan bahwa melalui project based learning motivasi intriksik siswa bisa terjaga selama proses pembelajaran karena adanya dua hal yaitu adanya projek yang sesuai dengan minat mereka dan yang bisa mereka bayangkan hasil akhirnya, dan kedua adanya brainstormin dan diskusi yang tidak hanya menjaga motivasi siswa tetapi juga memberi masukan yang positif. PBL yang dilakuka pada penulisan deskriptif juga menunjukkan bahwa siswa bisa memperoleh keahlian 4C yang diharapkan yaitu creativity, critical thinkinng, communication dan collaboration. Model pengajaran penulisan yang difokuskan pada SFV (sensory, figurative dan vivid words) juga memudahkan siswa untuk bisa menulis secara lebih terstrukturKata kunci :  Project based learning, penulisan deskriptif , 4Cs, SFV, motivasi intrinsik This article aims to see how project based learning can be applied to teaching descriptive writing to students of SMM Arridho Semarang. The learning was carried out on 25 students in grades X, XI, and XII with an emphasis on project initiation according to students interests and then spesifically focused on how to write descriptive writing as part of the big project. The result shows that through project based learning, students’ intrinsic motivation could be maintained during the learning process due to two main reason; the existence of project that match their interests in which they could imagine the end result of, and the discussion and brainstorming that not only kept students motivated but also give positive feedback. PBL which is also carried out in descriptive writing also shows that students can acquire the expected 4C skills, namely creativiy, critical thinking, communication, and collaboration. The writing teaching model that focuses on SFV (sensory, figurative, and vivid words) also makes it easier for the students to be able to write in a more structured manner.     Keywords : project based learning, descriptive writing, 4Cs, SFV, intinsic motivation

Abstract

This paper will look at the studies conducted to see how written academic discourse is socialized.  Written academic discourse socialization is a dynamic process, mostly socially situated and comtemporarily involves multimodal, multilingual, and intertextual context. This paper will see what influences the process of language socialization within this context, focusing on how the novice learners learn to participate themselves into the academic written discourse. In different setting of culture, there are various values that learners bring into educational context. The same thing also happens in the socialization of written discourse. Learners bring their previous experiences, shaped identity, and other values that might be different, or even in contrast with what is being socialized. In this way, it is interesting to see how learners cope with such things and take the step to participate in the academic world.  Equally important, it is necessary to examine the impact of language socialization forms, either in the form of feed back, remodelling, or criticism on the learners resistance or conformity

Abstract

Artikel ini bertujuan  untuk mengetahui bagaimana sikap bahasa mahasiswa UIN Walisongo terhadap bahasa Inggris dan TOEFL secara khusus. Sebelum diberikan kuesioner untuk mendapatkan data sikap bahasa, mahasiswa diberikan pelatihan terkait TOEFL untuk memberikan gambaran kepada mahasiswa mengenai TOEFL. 38 mahasiswa dari program studi Hukum Ekonomi Syariah semester empat menjadi responden kajian ini dengan mengisi kuesioner terkait pengalaman mereka mempelajari bahasa Inggris dan TOEFL serta sikap bahasa mereka. Hasil kajian menunjukkan bahwa responden secara umum memiliki sikap bahasa yang positif terhadap bahasa Inggris, terutama dalam sikap afektifnya, karena mereka merasakan pentingnya mempelajari Bahasa Inggris dan TOEFL untuk keuntungan masa depan mereka. Sementara itu, secara kognitif, mereka tidak selalu menunjukkan sikap bahasa yang positif terutama terhadap TOEFL karena mereka masih menyepakati stereotype bahwa belajar TOEFL itu sulit. Demikian juga untuk sikap bahasa pola perilaku. Tidak selalu responden menunjukkan sikap bahasa yang positif, karena dalam konteks bahasa asing sebagaimana Bahasa Inggris di Indonesia, pembelajar bahasa tidak selalu mendapatkan kesempatan untuk menggunakan bahasa secara natural.Kata kunci :   TOEFL, sikap bahasa, bahasa Inggris, afektif, kognitif, pola perilaku  This article aims to figure out how the language attitude of UIN Walisongo students towards English and TOEFL in particular. Before the questionnaires are given to generate data on language attitude, students are given training on TOEFL with the purpose to give illustration of what TOEFL is like. 38 students from Syaria Ekonomic Law department joined the training and filled out the questionnaire asking their experience in learning English and TOEFL and their language attitude.  The result of the study shows that in general, the students have positif attitude toward English and TOEFL, especially on their affective attitude because they feel the importance of learning ENglish and TOEFL for their future benefits. However, they don’t always show positive cognitive attitude because they are also in the same frame of the stereotype of TOEFL, that it is difficult to learn. The same thing occurs in behavioral attitude. Not all students are able to show positive attitude, because within the context of foreign language learning as English in Indonesia, learners do not always have the opportunity to use the language in authentic situation.Keywords :  TOEFL, language attitude, English, affective, cognitive, behavior

Abstract

English course in Diponegoro University as the basic required course is offered mostly by the department without giving any prior consideration of its purpose, and mostly arranged by the teachers without any guidance from the departments. This study is conducted with the purpose to see the possibility of teaching English by focusing the materials on students’ main competence and emphasized on student centered learning. The action research is targeted on having students use their English in demonstrating their main competence both in speaking and writing, through the method of Project Based Learning. The result shows that students are more motivated to study English and that it helps students to take the benefit of learning English for the development of their main competence. The further benefit is that students are able to increase their ability in academic writing and that they have more confident in speaking English. The main drawback from the study is that the groups work well to help students work more completely and easily, however it is true that since the works are mostly in group, individual problem may not be easily catered.

Abstract

This study is aimed at examining the cultures acculturated in tedhak siten ceremony, a ceremony marking the early step of a baby toward walking conducted by Javanese people. This study is also describing the cultural behavior and cultural items used during the process of the ceremony. This article is a library study focusing on how earlier studies discuss the ceremony from different location in Java. The acculturation observed during tedhak siten ceremony is Javanese, Hindu, and Islam culture, and each of the culture has merged in through the process during years of its implementation. The acculturation can be seen on the cultural behavior and cultural items known as ubarampe in Javanese. This study is also taking a look at various symbols used during the process which all can lead to the thought and the hope for the baby to gave goodness in his/her life. The ceremony also implicitly shows how the Javanese as the parents of the baby play their roles as husband and wife, and therefore they are able to have good parenting skills for the baby.   Kajian ini dilakukan untuk melihat budaya apa saja yang terakulturasi pada upacara tedhak siten atau upacara turun tanah bagi bayi yang dilakukan oleh masyarakat Jawa. Selain itu kajian ini juga mendeskripsikan perilaku budaya dan benda budaya yang digunakan dalam prosesi upacara tersebut. Kajian ini merupakan kajian pustaka yang mendasarkan pembahasannya dari temuan temuan kajian sebelumnya. Akulturasi budaya yang terlihat dalam prosesi tedhak siten adalah budaya Jawa, Hindu, dan Islam, yang masing masingnya melebur dengan baik selama proses puluhan tahun. Akulturasi tersebut terlihat pada perilaku budaya dan benda budaya yang berupa makanan dan uborampe upacara. Kajian ini juga mengungkap beragam simbol yang digunakan selama proses upacara yang semuanya dimuarakan pada satu hal yaitu harapan kebaikan bagi si anak. Upacara ini juga menyiratkan bagaimana hubungan dan peran orang tua Jawa sebagai suami istri yang nantinya akan mengasuh anak tersebut hingga bisa mencapai tujuan yang diharapkan.
