Abstract

This PKM is conducted at Sint Vianney Middle School which is located at JLN. I Gusti Ngurah Rai, Kampung Baru Village, Soe City District, TTS Regency, NTT Province. The problems experienced are the science learning tools developed that do not meet the standards of the learning process and have not directed students to have high order thinking skills (High Order Thingking Skill / HOT), the unavailability of special spaces for laboratories, practical tools and materials available in a minimum and have not seen their use optimally in the learning process so that it is not contextual. The elaboration of the steps of learning in the classroom shows that the learning models used are not carried out as they should, the practicum carried out only refers to observations but other scientific aspects have not been implemented, the lack of student activity, the process of evaluating learning outcomes is dominant in the aspects of knowledge (CC 3 ) especially on low-level thinking skills, and do not include assessments for aspects of skills (KI 4), high order thinking skills (High order Thingking Skill / HOT), subject matter related to the background of chemistry such as elements, compounds, mixtures, materials household chemistry ladder, additives and addictive substances taught by biology teachers, the process of developing learning devices is still carried out individually by each teacher in the field of science studies and has never been done in groups so that problems in the learning process have not been well identified, and the solutions have not been discussed and resolved jointly ma. The solution is to conduct training to improve the ability of teachers to design science learning tools that are in accordance with the standards of the learning process and which lead to students' high order thinking skills (HOT), and empower teachers to design LKPD which are oriented towards the use of materials in the environment around and integrate it in the learning process. In relation to assessment standards that have not been implemented properly, training needs to be done so that teachers can develop valid instruments to assess all aspects expected in the learning assessment standards. The results of this PKM are a collection of RPP that meets the learning process standards, LKPD, teaching materials, KI 3 assessment instruments that include high order thinking skills (High Order Thingking Skill / HOT), and KI 4 ,. While the resulting target is an increase in the ability of teachers to design learning devices that meet the standards of the learning process, an increase in the ability of teachers to develop assessment instruments for aspects of knowledge (KI 3) that include high order thinking skills (High Order Thingking Skill / HOT), skills (KI 4), and optimizing the use of practical tools and materials in schools and in the surrounding environment in the process of developing learning tools.Activities that have been carried out to achieve the above PKM targets consist of the Planning (lesson plan) stage of the Lesson Study Learning Community (LSLC) system, namely:Planning the PKM activity schedule with the team leader, members and teachers in the school.Seminar on the implementation of the LSLC system, Development of Learning Tools, and assessment instruments that meet the process standards and assessment standards in the 2013 curriculum. In this seminar the material presented and discussed includedUse of the LSLC system.Development of Student Activity Sheets (LKPD) and models, approaches, which meet the learning process standards according to the 2013 curriculum.Development of instruments for assessing aspects of skills that meet the 2013 curriculum assessment standards and how to integrate them in the learning process in the classroom.Development of knowledge assessment instrument that refers to the ability to think at a high level / hight order thingking (HOT).Planning phase (lesson plan) in the Lesson Study Learning Community (LSLC) system. At this stage the science teacher consisting of 2 physics teachers and 3 biology teachers are assembled to identify problems in the learning process and plan through activities: a. Workshop on Developing Student Activity Sheets (LKPD) on science / science material in junior high schools and developing skills instruments (IC 4) b. Workshop on the development of Learning Implementation Plans (RPP) that is in line with the learning process standards. c. Workshop on the development of an instrument of assessment of knowledge aspects (CC 3) that refers to higher order thinking skills / hight order thingking (HOT)

Abstract

AbstrakPembelajaran kini harus mampu mendorong siswa untuk dapat bertindak sebagai saintis terutama pembelajaran sains. Hal ini berarti pembelajaran harus berbasis pada praktikum. Namun, Guru-guru IPA di beberapa SMP se-Kecamatan Mollo Utara, Kabupaten Timor Tengah Selatan memiliki permasalahan yaitu guru belum memahami hakekat pembelajaran sains, pentingnya praktikum dalam pembelajaran IPA, kurangnya kreativitas guru dalam merancang praktikum IPA sederhana dan tidak adanya modul praktikum. Solusi yang dapat dilakukan untuk mengatasi permasalahan-permasalahan tersebut adalah dengan melakukan pelatihan praktikum sederhana bagi guru-guru IPA SMP se-Kecamatan Mollo Utara, Kabupaten Timor Tengah Selatan. Metode yang dilakukan adalah pemaparan materi tentang hakekat sains, pentingnya praktikum dalam pembelajaran, cara merancang praktikum sederhana serta cara membuat modul praktikum; penayangan video berbagai praktikum sains dengan alat dan bahan sederhana yang mudah ditemui di lingkungan sekitar; dan demostrasi beberapa praktikum sederhana.Kata kunci: pembelajaran sains; saintis; praktikum sederhanaAbstractThe current learning must be able to encourage student to become scientists especially science learning. This means that learning must be based on practicum. However, science teacher in several junior high school in Mollo Utara sub-district, South Central Timor have any problem; the teacher does not understand the nature of science learning, the importance of practicum in science learning, creativity of teacher to design simple practicum, and absence of module lab. The solution to overcome these problems is to conduct simple practical training for science teachers in junior high school in Mollo Utara sub-district, South Central Timor. Abstract

This study aims to determine the effect of the Quantum Teaching model on the learning outcomes of seventh grade students of Sint Aloysius Niki-Niki Catholic Middle School. This type of research is quantitative research with a quasi-experimental method and the research design used is the Nonrandomized Control group Pretest-Posttest Design. The population in this study were all seventh grade students of Sint Aloysius Niki-Niki Catholic Middle School. The data analysis technique used descriptive analysis and inferential analysis. The results showed that the post test score in the experimental class that applied the Quantum Teaching model was higher, namely 86.37 compared to the control class who applied the conventional learning model, namely 69.13. Anacova test results show the calculated F value is 0,000 or less than 0.05. This shows that H0 which states that there is no effect of the Quantum Teaching model on the learning outcomes of seventh grade students of Sint Aloysius Niki-Niki Catholic Middle School is rejected and the consequence is that Ha states that there is an effect of the Quantum Teaching model on the learning outcomes of seventh grade students of SMP Catholic Sint Aloysius Niki Niki accepted. The results of the activities of students who took part in the experimental class were also higher at 90%. compared to the control class, namely 86.65%. And the teacher's ability to manage learning in the experimental class is included in the good category, namely 98.91%.

Abstract

Metilen biru merupakan zat warna yang digunakan secara luas dalam berbagai industri namun memiliki dampak negatif terhadap lingkungan. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk mengurangi dampak pencemaran metilen biru pada lingkungan air. Sabut kelapa yang diambil dari pedagang kaki lima di Kota Kupang dijadikan adsorben untuk adsorpsi metilen biru. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa adsorpsi metilen biru terjadi secara optimal pada pH 7 selama 75 menit adsorpsi dengan persentase adsorpsi sebesar 99,14%. Hasil analisis kinetika reaksi adsorpsi menunjukkan bahwa adsorpsi metilen biru menggunakan adsorben sabut kelapa mengikuti model kinetika reaksi pseudo orde dua dengan laju konstanta adsorpsi sebesar 0,01 gram mg-1 menit-1.

Abstract

The purpose of conducting this food content test activity is to increase the knowledge of students and teachers about the content of food consumed in daily life, as well as to determine the content of food consumed in everyday life.This service activity was carried out at Junior High School 2 South Amanuban and the participants of the activity were 46 students and teachers at the school. This activity is carried out by preparing tools and materials to be used for socialization, initial simulation before carrying out socialization, material exposure, testing the content of food ingredients, observing results, providing information about substances contained in food ingredients that are consumed daily and Reporting.The results of this outreach activity based on questionnaires that were written by students showed that 100% of Middle School 2 Amanuban Selatan students were able to define the meaning of food, and describe the types of local food in the area where they lived, were able to explain the content of substances in local food in the Kuanfatu area and able to follow food testing activities well.

Abstract

pada Jeruk Keprok Soe di dataran tinggi Mutis ini akan memberikan informasi kebaruan bakteri INA di daerah tropis. Penelitian lanjut mengenai bakteri INA perlu dilakukan, mengingat dampak buruk bagi pertanian akibat luka beku yang disebabkan karena aktivitas ice nucleation. Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui populasi bakteri INA, mengetahui estimasi populasi bakteri INA, uji aktivitas ice Nucleation Active dan mengetahui kelas protein INA. Pengambilan sampel tanaman Jeruk Keprok Soe menggunakan metode purposive sampling pada tiga ketinggian yaitu 2000, 2100, dan 2200 m dpl. Isolasi bakteri dilakukan dengan metode spread plate pada media Kings’B, aktivitas nukleasi es ditentukan dengan metode tube nucleation test. Estimasi populasi bakteri INA dilakukan dengan metode multiple-tube nucleation test formula Thomas seri 3.3.3. Hasil penelitian menunjukan bahwa populasi bakteri INA yang ditemukan pada daun jeruk keprok soe di dataran tinggi mutis tergolong tinggi yaitu 6 x 103/g hingga 1,2 x 104 /g daun. hal ini menunjukkan bahwa semakin tinggi tempat maka semakin tinggi populasi bakteri INA yang ditemukan. Berdasarkan suhu pembentukan es, terdapat dua isolat bakteri , yaitu 2 sampel mengalami pembekuan pada suhu -7oC dengan kelas protein INA B, sedangkan 6 sampel membeku pada suhu -10oC dengan kelas protein INA C.

Abstract

Plastic waste is a topic that is always discussed in academic studies, especially regarding for the environment. Plastic waste causes natural damage whether it is biotik or abiotik environment. Lack of understanding of the plastic waste dangers caused tless of the environment concern. This is illustrated by the behavoir of throwing plastic waste not on the rubbish bin. By the socialization of  plastic waste education and its utilization, it is expected can improve the intellectual understanding about the risk of plastic waste. This activity was initiated by a group of young people in the Kupang city whose joined to the community of "Saya Pilih Bumi" in Kupang regional by involving speakers from Widya Mandira Catholic University of Kupang City.  The method of carrying out the socialization activities is by surveying and requesting permission to the school, then two activities are carried out there are education of plastic waste and plastic waste treatment. The success of these program was  indicated by the students enthusiasm in the discussion session and the results of processing plastic waste yield some goods like flower pots, pencil cases and other accessories.abstrakSampah plastik adalah topik yang selalu dibahas dalam studi akademik, terutama mengenai lingkungan. Sampah plastik menyebabkan kerusakan alam baik itu lingkungan biotik atau abiotik. Kurangnya pemahaman tentang bahaya limbah menyebabkan kepedulian yang rendah terhadap lingkungan. Hal ini digambarkan oleh kebiasaan membuang sampah tidak pada tempatnya. Melalui kegiatan edukasi sampah plastik dan pemanfaatannya, diharapkan dapat menumbuhkan kesadaran intelektual akan bahaya sampah plastik. Kegiatan ini diprakarsai oleh sekelompok anak muda di kota Kupang yang tergabung dalam komunitas "Saya Pilih Bumi" regional Kupang dengan melibatkan pembicara dari Universitas Katolik Widya Mandira Kupang. Metode pelaksanaan kegiatan sosialisasi adalah dengan melakukan survey dan meminta izin ke sekolah mitra, Kemudian dilakukan dua kegiatan yaitu edukasi sampah dan pengolahan sampah plastik. Indikator ketercapaian pelaksanaan kegiatan ini adalah antusiasme siswa dalam sesi diskusi dan hasil pengolahan sampah plastik dalam bentuk fas bunga, tempat pensil dan aksesoris lainnya.

Abstract

Seiring dengan kerusakan ekosistem dan habitat makluk hidup termasuk yang bersel satu, menyebabkan bermigrasinya makluk hidup tersebut termasuk pada tubuh manusia sehingga menimbulkan penyakit. Mikroba S. aureus termasuk salah mikroba pathogen yang mudah resisten terhadap obat-obatan bila ditangani secara salah. Pengendalian terhadap mikroba yang sudah resisten dilakukan dengan cara mencari obat baru yang dapat menghambat dan atau mematikan mikroba resisten tersebut. Salah satu yang secara tradisional digunakan masyarakat secara tradisional yaitu jarak pagar. Penelitian ini dilakukan untuk menjawab masalah: apakah ekstrak jarak pagar berkemampuan sebagai antibakteri terhadap bakteri S. aureus secara in vitro? Mengacu pada rumusan masalah tersebut maka tujuan yang mau dicapai dari penelitian ini yaitu membuktikan ada tidaknya khasiat tumbuhan jarak pagar yang diekstraksi melalui indikator terbentuk tidaknya zona bening pada kondisi in vitro. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa ekstrak tumbuhan jarak pagar terbukti berkemampuan sebagai antibakteri pada level konsentrasi 25%, 50%, 75% dan 100%. Berkemampuan sebagai antibakteri, dengan zona hambat terbesar terjadi pada konsentrasi 100%.

Abstract

SMA Kristen Pandhega jaya mempunyai misi yaitu menanamkan dan menumbuhkan jiwa kewirausahaan dalam diri siswa namun selama ini belum tercapai dikarenakan selama pembelajaran kewirausahaan siswa tidak pernah diajarkan praktek kewirausahaan sehingga siswa kurang bersemangat dalam mengikuti kegiatan pembelajaran. Solusi yang ditawarkan untuk mengatasi permasalah yang dialami oleh siswa di SMA Kristen Pandhega jaya adalah memberikan sosialisasi serta pelatihan pembuatan produk makanan menggunakan pangan lokal dengan demikian bisa menumbuhkan minat berwirausaha siswa. Metode yang digunakan dalam kegiatan ini adalah non-eksperimental dan prosedur jalannya kegiatan ini terbagi atas empat tahap yaitu tahap perencanaan, tahap persiapan, tahap pelaksanaan dan tahap evaluasi. Hasil analisis kuisioner yang diperoleh pada tahap sosialisasi diperoleh data bahwa peserta PKM sering mengkonsumsi tempe, namun tidak mengetahui bahwa biji kacang merah bisa diolah menjadi tempe,sementara pada tahap pelatihan sebagian dari peserta pelatihan tau cara memilih biji kacang merah yang bagus untuk bahan baku pembuatan tempe kacang merah, dan pada tahap uji organoleptik terhadap 20 responden menunjukan bahwa tempe kacang merah yang dibuat pada kegiatan ini memilik warna yang agak putih serta aroma yang sangat khas tempe, teksturnya keras dan rasa dari tempe kacang merah sangat enak sehingga para peserta tertarik untuk membuat produk tempe dengan bahan pangan yang berbeda.

Abstract

Methylene blue is a cationic dye often used for various industries. Methylene blue waste harms aquatic biota. Most ways have been done to reduce the methylene blue pollution that includes photocatalytic, electrochemical, and adsorption. This study aimed to reduce the impact of methylene blue pollution on the aquatic environment and to test the adsorption isothermal for methylene blue adsorption using coconut fiber. The abundant coconut fiber waste around the Kupang city was taken and prepared to be used as an adsorbent. The characterization results showed that the active groups in cellulose were clearly described on the FTIR spectra which showed the presence of  O-H vibrations at 3296.35 cm-1, C-O vibrations were seen at 1267.23 and 1060.85 cm-1, at wavelengths 1608.63 cm-1 and 817.72 cm-1 there is a vibration from the C=C bond, while the C-H vibration appears at a wavelength of 2939.52 cm-1. The results of this research analysis showed that the adsorption of methylene blue according to the Langmuir isotherm indicated by the value of the equation of the straight line R2 being one and the direction of the curve depicting occurring the effective adsorption. The maximum adsorption capacity was 4.467 mg g-1 with the percentage of methylene blue adsorbed at 99.3%. Adsorption occurs chemically with an energy of 27.29 kJmol-1 so it can be determined that the adsorption occurs with a monolayer mechanism.
