Abstract

ABSTRACT The objectives of this research is to learn the proccess of making charcoal and the yield of charcoal from the waste of durian’s leather, wood’s savings, coconut shell, the combination of waste durian’s leather and wood shavings (1:1), the combination of weste durian leather and coconut shell (1:1), the combination of waste durian leather and wood shavings (2:1) and the combination of waste durian leather and coconut shell (2:1) that is the testing of briquettes burned power and residual ash which has burnt-out. This research is use complete Random Plan Method, to analyze the yield of charchoal and the time of making charcoal, briquettes burned power, the time of heating 1 litre water till it’s boil and residual ash of briquettes which has burnt-out. The result of research show that the average time of making charcoal process of waste durian leather and coconut shell is the same that is 960 seconds, while making charcoal on shavings wood has the average time 980 seconds. This case is also given the bright difference towards the result of yield charcoal. The result of briquettes burned power on seven treatment shows that the briquette of waste durian leather, coconut shell, the combination of waste durian leather and coconut shell (1:1) and the combination of waste durian leather with coconut shell (2:1) is the best because it has the quick average in heating 1 litre water that is 1140 seconds, while the quick average of burnt-out on C treatment or coconut shell briquettes that is 208,800 seconds and has briquettes rendual ash which has burnt-out is smallest that is 2.77%.  Keywords : Aktif charcoal briquettes, durian lether , shavings wood and coconut  shell.

Abstract

ABSTRACT With the current technology developments have made changes in all areas, including trade. Various activities can be done easily and quickly, including buying and selling activities. E- commerce is one of the technology in helping the buying and selling activities. Wide range of products are being sold using e-commerce such as clothes, shoes, bags, food up to ticket. The development of e-commerce is also changing so rapidly, the current CMS (Content Management System) began to be considered to be used to build e-commerce because it is easier and faster in providing information.  North Sulawesi is one area that is famous for its agricultural products such as coconut, cloves and processed products such as palm sugar, coconut oil, and others. Making the application of e-commerce is expected to help provide information related to agricultural products as well as simpifiying the buying and selling activities.  This study aims to create a CMS-based web applications and financial transactions (e-commerce). This research is expected to help the community and students in accessing and providing information related to agricultural products rapidly and extensively, as well as simplifying the buying and selling process via the Internet.

Abstract

Agricultural development over the past decade, is more identical tocommodity development, which focuses on meeting domestic food needs.The development of globalization, a country in this case the government,must be able to facilitate and encourage the community to developproductive activities, including developing the creative food industry,which is characterized not only by fulfilling quantity, quality, but havingselling value, or the value of excellence product specifics (prepositionvalue), and provide economic (added value). The synergy of various parties(stake holders) encourages increased production of creative food productsby intensifying : technology, information, ideas and creativity as well asskills that emerge from the community, both individual farmers andindustrial groups in the South Minahasa Regency.The objectives of this study are: 1. Identify the types and characteristicsof coconut-based food industries in South Minahasa regency and 2.Calculate the economic added value of the development of coconut-basedfood industries in South Minahasa regency. 3. Obtain appropriate methods,strategies and models for the development of a food industry based oncoconut in South Minahasa Regency. This study uses several methods,namely: descriptive method, calculation of added value according to Costerand Schaffer, 1982) and the SWOT method for obtaining methods,strategies and models for the development of creative food industries thatare suitable in South Minahasa regency. The results showed that there were3 types of development of creative food industries made from coconutwhich already existed in South Minahasa Regency, namely: 1. culinary, 2.medicines 4. research development. From this type of creative foodindustry, it has provided real economic added value for farmers, industrialgroups and macro for the economic growth of the community, whenapplying methods, strategies and models that match the potential andcharacteristics in South Minahasa Regency.Keywords: development, creative food industry, coconut raw materials

Abstract

ABSTRACTEnergy is a crucial global issue. Demand for energy increases every year. According todata collected by the Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources (2006) Indonesia’s oilsupply amounts to a mere 9 billion barrels, which will run out with continued consumption.To decrease dependency on fossil fuels, the government has issued Peraturan PresidenRepublik Indonesia number 5 year 2006 about National Energy Policies to developalternative renewable energy resources. Energy experts around the world are now researchingand developing renewable energy, one of which is biogas. This research is done in Totabuanvillage, district of Lolak, Bolaang Mongondow regency, using experimental methods withdescriptive analysis of the formation of biogas using biodigester technology with a permanent12 m3 dome-type reactor. Biogas started forming on the 9th day, up to the 26th day, with 12m3 of raw materials, which is a 1:1 mix of cow feces with water (6 m3 cow feces and 6 m3water), and yielded 4,68 m3 of biogas that can be used to cook for 12,3 hours. Each 1 m3 ofbiogas can be used to cook for 2,63 hours. Biogas yield is 39%Keywords: Energy, Renewable, Biodigester, Biogas.

Abstract

ABSTRACT   Charcoal briquettes is solid alternative fuel for oil. This research aimed to evaluate charcoal product from three types of carbonization kiln that used nutmeg shell waste and examine the process of making charcoal briquettes from nutmeg shell waste. The observed characteristics of charcoal briquettes from nutmeg shell waste were  calories value, ash content, and water content. The benefit of this research was producing alternative fuels from renewable agricultural waste into economically valuable products as wells as reducing environmental pollution. This product was charcoal briquettes that could be used for household requirement, small food and beverage industry and canteen.  Key Words: Charcoal Briquet, Nutmeg shell, Carbonization kiln
