Abstract

The prophets, or in our days, we call them pastors, or preachers are in difficult situation. They have to make up their minds. Compromising with “sin” is regarded more promising, it means life, prosperity, and a future. Unlike the 400 Baal prophets, Micaiah has become a perfect example for us today. No matter what the consequences, even if it means death, he is persistent and consistent in preaching and prophesying the truth. Preachers should only speak God’s word--the truth, rather than their own ideas!

Abstract

Education is so important and it has indeed given uncountable contributions upon the development of our world as well as our lives. Through education we are able to equip our children and younger generation with necessary information and skill so that they are ready to face the future. In term of Christian education and spiritual formation, we need to fix our eyes on Jesus. Jesus is Lord, to whom we give our lives and services. He is also our teacher, to whom we learn the truth and implement it in our daily lives. The most important, however, is to follow his example, his humbleness and sincerity. In most cases, when we are talking about education, we have seen numerous talented teachers, but many of them are not able to be good examples. Briefly, a teacher must be able to bring light into the darkness, but also to guide the learners on the right path.

Abstract

Having observed through media as well as current events in our society, the writer is quite concerned for the family life and future of the next generation. Permissiveness and unfaithfulness are very common in society today, the rate of divorce is getting higher and higher. While violence and crime are prevalent among the youth of today; home to some extent, has lost its function. The interrelationship among the family members has decreased in quality and quantity. Ephesians 5:22-6:4 provides helpful answers and solutions, especially for believers in Jesus Christ. That text helps us to maintain a healthy and successful family as well as nurture our children mentally and spiritually.

Abstract

Lukewarmness is a latent, serius and contagious spriritual sickness that keeps happening in a regularly repeated order— a cycle in the life of the believers in God as well as the Church. The Bible has all the records about it. The life of the Israelites and even the Church of Christ in its history, portray vividly how lukewarmness had been taking place over and over again. The world with all its attractions has dazzled the eyes of the Christians, so they focus and run for wealth and depise their spiritual needs. When their lives are care free, and complacent, they do not have time for God, or for the Church, and eventually, the church disappeares. The answer to the above condition is to do discipleship ministry consistently to the Christians so they become Christ-like disciples, freed from biblical illiteracy, and the lost of spiritual vitality. Christianity is not just a matter of confession, but a way of life in any situation, a full devotion to God.
