Abstract

The research aimed to find out the RARE (Review Answer Read Express) as an effective medium in teaching speaking. Based on the result of research on the population of students in class VIII Yayasan Al Muslim Tambun in the academic year 2019/2020 as the experimental class. The method in this research uses the random sampling technique which is used in class VIII. The mean of students’ post-test is higher than the pre-test. The average value of the post-test is 89.31and pre-test 62.04It also showed that the value of Tcal (2.55) is higher than Ttable (1.721) at the significance degree 5%. If the result of the t-test is higher than the t-table, the alternative hypothesis (Ha) is accepted and the null hypothesis (H0) is rejected. Based on the result of the t-test calculation above, since the positive hypothesis (Ha) was accepted, we can conclude that the RARE (Review Answer Read Express) technique is an effective medium in teaching reading.

Abstract

This article is a product of a research study conducted and aimed to demonstrate the effect of online games to motivate students in learning english vocabulary, with participants of 5 senior highschool students from various school and using qualitative approach as the method. The result on improving students motivation in learning english vocabulary using online games had quiet effective not only it helps students, it also make learning vocabulary more interesting, fun and also relaxing, as for online games itself in this internet era helps students connect and play, they have been proved in the educational field as a possible learning mediation, so in the future online games will not only be considered as hindrance for students to study, but an alternative place for students to learn more.

Abstract

This research focuses on the use of language in social interactions, specifically within the context of K-Pop fans using social media platform Twitter to communicate with other fanbases. The study aims to determine the impact of the K-Pop community on Twitter on the writing skills of high school students in English. The research method employed is quantitative, using a sample of 100 high school students who are members of the K-Pop community on Twitter for at least a year and have studied English. Data was collected using a Likert scale. Results of the analysis indicate a significant effect of the Twitter community on the development of student's writing skills in English Keywords: Twitter; K-Pop; Writing

Abstract

Currently, the most widely spoken language worldwide is English. In social settings, at work and at school, millions of people use English as their primary language of communication. It is important to teach students to speak English as a foreign language in the classroom. A teacher should be able to create a more interesting and effective classroom learning atmosphere, then looking at the progress of how well students can communicate in a language is often used to assess the effectiveness of a language learning program. Students must demonstrate speaking fluency as well as the ability to articulate their thoughts and knowledge in a specific type of text for speaking skills. To find out whether Jennirubyejane's vlog videos can improve students' speaking learning, this study divided two classes into a control group and an experimental group and collected data using quantitative pre-test and post-test methodology. The purpose of educational media is to stimulate students' knowledge of facts, skills and thought processes. As a result, audio-visual media has a good impact that promotes language acquisition by being helpful and stimulating to assist English language learning and the results show that Jennierubyjane's vlog videos are a useful medium for teaching speaking.
