Abstract

The prevalence of HIV cases increases significantly in the vulnerable population; it is Transvestite. The high prevalence of HIV in transgenders requires treatment and treatment services. However, until now the transgender community is a group that is often not served in various health facilities. Transvestite identity intersections produce unique life experiences, such as multiple identities and spiritual identities. The purpose of the study was to explore the experience of transgender HIV patients when hospitalized in fulfilling spiritual needs. Research method with qualitative design phenomenology study approach. This study involved 12 transvestite participants who had been hospitalized because of HIV positive. Retrieving data using in-depth interviews, data analysis using Colaizzi. The results of the study found four themes namely (1) Spiritual according to HIV patients transvestites means believing in the existence of God; (2) Be grateful for the conditions they have; (3) get closer to God by doing good things; (4) Poor nurse services for transgender HIV patients.

Abstract

Background: Early warning score is one of the tools used by nurses in the treatment room to determine the critical condition of patients undergoing treatment. The early warning score can be a reference for changes in the patient's condition. Nurses have responsibilities, one of which is filling out the early warning score. Seeing the purpose of using the early warning score is very important in its implementation, but in implementing the filling of the early warning score, are there any obstacles felt by nurses. Objective: This research aims to find the barriers to implementing the early warning score in the treatment room. Methods: The method used is descriptive qualitative. The sample in this study was seven nurses in the treatment room. Result: The results of this study are three obstacles in applying the early warning score in the hospital treatment room: It takes a long time, allows for errors in adding up scores, and difficulties in remembering follow-up interventions. Conclusion: This study concludes that there are barriers to implementing the early warning score by nurses in the treatment room. Namely, it takes a long time to apply the early warning score using paper-based. It is possible to add up the scores incorrectly and have difficulty remembering further interventions that must be done.

Abstract

Latar Belakang: Diabetes melitus merupakan penyakit tidak menular yang termasuk dalam kategori penyakit kronis dan diperkirakan akan meningkat, sehingga perlu dilakukan pengendalian metode yang direkomendasikan oleh Kementerian Kesehatan dalam bentuk penanganan yang cerdas terhadap diabetes melitus. Layanan ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis pengaruh program EMAS terhadap pengendalian gula darah orang dewasa penderita diabetes melitus tipe 2. Metode: intervensi selama 6 bulan. Sampel penelitian sebanyak 86 orang dewasa penderita diabetes melitus tipe 2 di Cisalak Pasar Kecamatan Ciamnggis Kota Depok. Hasil: Kontrol gula darah orang dewasa dengan diabetes melitus tipe 2 melalui intervensi EMAS (p-value 0,001 <0,05). Kesimpulan: Perubahan perilaku orang dewasa dengan diabetes melitus tipe 2 diperlukan untuk menstabilkan gula darah pasien. Oleh karena itu, peran komunitas perawat spesialis sangat diperlukan untuk memberikan intervensi sesuai dengan kebutuhan penderita diabetes melitus untuk penanganan penyakitnya.

Abstract

Background: The spread of the COVID-19 virus has spread widely throughout the world, which affects various aspects (Lebov et al., 2017). Several aspects affected by the transmission of the COVID-19 virus are psychological / mental health impacts caused by the implementation of policies from various countries in the form of a physical distancing system (Ornell, Schuch, Sordi, & Kessler, 2020). Objectives: Analyze the relationship between physical distancing and the mental health of Indonesian community during Covid-19. Methods: The cross-sectional study design. The sample of the study was the Indonesian people affected by the covid-19 pandemic who were taken based on purposive sampling with complete answer criteria as many as 1,090 respondents. The research instrument consisted of 2 questionnaires, including: a method questionnaire in physical distancing practices methods consisting of 11 items of physical distancing application to prevent the spread of the Covid-19 virus as recommended by World Health Organization. The Self-Reporting Questionnaire-29 is a questionnaire issued by the Directorate of Mental Health Services of the Indonesian Ministry of Health with the domains of anxiety and depression, psychomatics, symptoms of psychotic disorders, trauma stress. Parametric statistical tests used the Pearson test (p-value < 0.05). Results: The results obtained a p-value of 0.03, which means that there is a physical distancing relationship with the mental health of the Indonesian people during Covid-19. Conclusion: There is a significant relationship between physical distancing and the mental health of the Indonesian people. Recommendations for health workers, especially nurses in providing health services to the community, must be more comprehensive and recognize client responses to prevent psychological impacts.

Abstract

The COVID-19 pandemic that has occurred in the world has also impacted the world of education. The school's policy initially closed face-to-face activities, but over time allowed schools to return to holding face-to-face school activities on the condition that they have to implement health protocol. Implementing the health protocol is essential for all students to do in schools to prevent the transmission of COVID-19 in the school environment. The implementation of the health protocol starts from the knowledge that students must have; therefore, there need to be additional efforts to improve students' knowledge. Actions that can be made in students' knowledge suitable are by providing health education. This study aims to provide education about implementing the Covid-19 prevention health protocol on changes in knowledge. The methodology used in this study was quasi-experimental without using a control group, the statistical test used was paired t-test. The results of this study indicate a change in knowledge between before being given education and after that with a P-value <0.005. There is an effect of providing education on changes in knowledge between before and after being given education-related to implementing the Covid-19 prevention health protocol.

Abstract

Diabetes mellitus is classified as a non-communicable disease which has been estimated to have increased, so a risk factor control program recommended by the Ministry of Health is required according to the DM management pillar. Health cadre empowerment is also needed to actively support non-communicable diseases programs. The purpose of this community empowerment was to change the behaviour of people with type 2 diabetes in glucose control and improve the health cadres' skills in Posbindu PTM activities. The program was carried out in October 2018 until March 2019. The targets were: 86 type 2 diabetes patients, 24 cadres in Cisalak Pasar Kelurahan, 120 cadres in Cimanggis District, and 293 cadres in Depok City. The results showed that patients could control their glucose and health cadres experienced improved skills. The role of community nurses is continuously needed to provide appropriate interventions to the patients.
