Abstract

ABSTRAK Tujuan penelitian yaitu untuk mengevaluasi bahan pengemas dan lama simpan optimal terhadap kualitas fisik dan kimia wafer pakan komplit berbasis limbah agroindustri. Ketersediaan pakan secara kontinyu perlu untuk meningkatkan produktivitas ternak. Penggunaan bahan pakan yang berasal dari limbah agroindustri merupakan salah satu upaya untuk mencukupi kebutuhan pakan, namun penggunaan bahan ini mempunyai kendala yaitu kualitas yang rendah karena itu pembuatan pakan komplit perlu dilakukan. Pakan yang diolah tidak akan awet apabila tidak dilakukan penanganan lanjut, pengemasan merupakan salah satu cara pengawetan pakan dan tidak menurunkan kualitas. Penelitian ini menggunakan pakan komplit yang dibentuk wafer dengan bahan pengemas dan lama simpan berbeda. Pembentukan wafer berfungsi untuk meningkatkan daya simpan dan mengurangi keambaan pakan. Penelitian dilaksanakan dengan rancangan acak lengkap (RAL) pola faktorial dengan 2 faktor: bahan kemas dan lama simpan dan 3 ulangan. Faktor bahan kemas terdiri dari tanpa bahan kemas, plastik, karung plastik dan kardus, faktor lama simpan terdiri dari penyimpanan 0, 14, 28 dan 42 hari. Penelitian dilaksanakan selama 48 hari, pengambilan data dilakukan pada hari ke-0, 14, 28 dan 42. Data yang diperoleh diolah menggunakan analisis ragam Anova yang dilanjutkan dengan uji wilayah ganda Duncan. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahan kemas dan lama simpan wafer pakan komplit berpengaruh sangat nyata (P<0,01) terhadap kadar protein kasar, kadar air, kerapatan dan durabilitas serta berpengaruh nyata (P<0,05) terhadap kadar lemak kasar. Kualitas fisik dan kimia wafer yang terbaik adalah pada penggunaan bahan kemas plastik dan lama simpan 14 hari.Kata kunci: Wafer pakan komplit, bahan kemas, lama simpanABSTRACTThe objectives of the research were to evaluate package and storage periods on physical and chemical quality of complete feed wafer based on agroindustry waste. The availability of feed continously was needed to increase productivity of livestock. The using agroindustry waste was one of requirement feedstuff for the livestock but, the using of the matter had a problem that less quality so, needed making complete feed. Processed feed is not durable if no further handling, packaging is one of the ways to preserve feed, and do not degrade the quality. This research uses complete feed wafer with package and storage periods are different. Establishment wafer serves to increase durability and reduce volume of feed. This research was done with completely randomized design patterned factorial with two factor, they are package and storage periods with 3 replications. The packaging factors consists of without packing materials, plastic, plastic bags and cardboard and storage periods consists of storage 0, 14, 28 and 42 days. The result was follow wit Anova test and Duncan test. The result of the research showed that package and storage periods was highly significantly (P<0,01) affected to crude protein, moisture content, density and durability and was significantly (P<0,05) affected to crude fat. Physical and chemical qualities of the best wafer is on the use of plastic containers and store 14 days.Key words: complete feed wafer, package, storage periods

Abstract

The purpose of this study was to examine the influence of combined treatmentsof the extrusion process and the addition of a natural source of tannins (tea and orgambier wastes) of the total gas and methane production in soybean flour.The materials used in this study were soybean meal, tea waste, gambier, cowrumen fluid, alcohol, CO2, McDougall solution, 15% H2SO4, 0,5 N NaOH, 0,5 N HCl,1% PP indicator and distilled water. The instruments used were analytical scales, testtubes, oven, extruder machine, waterbath, centrifuge, vacuum flaks, CO2 gas cylinder,100ml syringes glass equipped with silicone hoses and clips to be closed and opened,vaccuntainer, erlenmeyergas chromatography, special flute tube and distillation flask,glass beaker, Erlenmeyer, incubator, pipettes, measuring instruments, magnetic stirrer,peristaltic pump to drain the rumen fluid and heater. This study used completelyrandomized design in 2x3 factorials and 3 replicates by a-factor (a0 = no extruided anda1= extruded) and b-factor(b0= no tannins, b1= tea waste tannins, b2= gambier tannin).The parameters observed including total gas and methane production, the data weretaseted by usisng analysis of varience and followed by the Duncan test.The results indicate that there is no interaction between the extrusion and theaddition of tannins to total gas production, while the production of methane gas does notindicate any influence (p < 0.05). It is concluded that the extrusion and protection withnatural tannins of soybean flour have impacted on decreased in the production of totalgas and methane production.

Abstract

The objective of research was to evaluate the quality of agricultural residues has been fermented with rumen contents buffalo reviewed of the decrease levels of NDF (Neutral Detergent Fiber) and ADF (Acid Detergent Fiber). The research has conducted in May and June 2012 in the Laboratory of Animal Feed Technology and Feed Science Laboratory, Department of Nutrition and Food Animals, Faculty of Animal Husbandry and Agriculture, Diponegoro University, Semarang. The material used in this study was the buffalo rumen contents, rice straw and corn straw. Research tools included: chopper, trays, plastic, scales, knives, pH meter, thermometer, label paper, tissue and apparatus for fiber analysis. Research used completely randomize design (CRD) 4x3 factorial with 3 replications. A factor is a combination of rice straw and corn are 100% 0% rice straw with corn straw (P), 50% rice straw with 50% corn straw (PJ), 0% to 100% rice straw corn straw (J). Factor B is the addition of buffalo rumen contents, there are 4 levels of 0% (R0), 5% (R5), 10% (R10), 15% (R15) and R0 as the control is 0% waste fermentation. Parameters measured were changes in the levels of fiber components NDF (Neutral Detergent Fiber) and ADF (Acid Detergent Fiber). The data was statistically processed by analysis of the range and if there is a significant effect of treatment was continued multiple regions Duncan test at 5% level. Results of the study showed a decrease in the levels of NDF and ADF in line with the increase in buffalo rumen contents. Lowest NDF levels obtained in 100% rice straw combined with 0% corn straw and given by buffalo rumen contents of 15%. The lowest ADF levels obtained in combination with rice straw 0% combined with 100% corn straw and given by buffalo rumen contents 15%.Keywords: NDF, ADF, rumen, fermentation, strawABSTRAKTujuan penelitian yaitu untuk mengeavaluasi kualitas hasil sisa pertanian yang difermentasi menggunakan isi rumen kerbau dengan dilihat dari penurunan kadar NDF (Neutral Detergent Fiber) dan ADF (Acid Detergent Fiber). Penelitian dilaksanakan pada bulan Mei sampai Juni 2012 di Laboratorium Teknologi Makanan Ternak dan Laboratorium Ilmu Makanan Ternak, Jurusan Nutrisi dan Makanan Ternak, Fakultas Peternakan dan Pertanian Universitas Diponegoro, Semarang. Materi yang digunakan dalam penelitian adalah isi rumen kerbau, jerami padi dan jerami jagung. Peralatan penelitian meliputi : chopper, nampan, plastik, timbangan, pisau, pH meter, termometer, kertas label, tissue dan peralatan untuk analisis serat. Penelitian menggunakan rancangan acak lengkap (RAL) pola faktorial 4x3 dengan 3 kali ulangan. Faktor A adalah kombinasi jerami padi dan jagung yaitu 100% jerami padi dengan 0% jerami jagung (P), 50% jerami padi dengan 50% jerami jagung (PJ), 0% jerami padi dengan 100% jerami jagung (J). Faktor B adalah penambahan isi rumen kerbau terdapat 4 level yaitu 0% (R0), 5% (R5), 10% (R10), 15% (R15) dan R0 sebagai kontrol adalah limbah fermentasi 0%. Parameter yang diamati adalah perubahan komponen serat yaitu kadar NDF (Neutral Detergent Fiber) dan ADF (Acid Detergent Fiber). Data diolah secara statistik dengan analisis ragam dan jika terdapat pengaruh perlakuan yang nyata dilanjutkan uji wilayah ganda Duncan pada taraf 5%. Berdasarkan dari hasil penelitian menunjukkan penurunan terhadap kadar NDF dan ADF seiring dengan bertambahnya aras isi rumen kerbau. Kadar NDF terendah diperoleh pada kombinasi jerami padi 100% dengan jerami jagung 0% dan pemberian isi rumen kerbau 15%. Kadar ADF terendah diperoleh pada kombinasi jerami padi 0% dengan jerami jagung 100% dan pemberian isi rumen kerbau 15%.Kata Kunci : NDF, ADF, rumen, fermentasi, jerami
