Abstract

The development of science and technology increasingly encourages renewal efforts in the use of technological results in the learning process. Media that can support learning include computer media. In the era of pandemic, distance learning is very much needed and recommended to suppress the spread of COVID 19. There are many learning media platforms that can be used during distance learning today. Teachers are required to develop skills in making media or developing learning media because the methods and learning media used by teachers greatly affect the results of the teaching and learning process. Thus, there is a need for training in making online-based learning media that will be used during a pandemic and distance learning.

Abstract

Anxiety is one of the factors influencing students’ speaking performance in the classroom. A video making task is an alternative strategy that can decrease anxiety besides it provides a positive influence on students’ self-assessment of speaking task. Hence, the objective of this study was to describe how video making task could decrease students’ anxiety in speaking class. This study used a descriptive qualitative method in which the data source was the students’ performance in video to require the task of procedure text presentation in speaking class. The data were collected by using observation and interview. And the result of the observation of the video showed that most of the students seemed less anxious and more relaxed in explaining the assigned materials. In the interview, the students also said that they felt more confident in presenting the task. In conlusion, the video making task could decrease students’ anxiety in students’ speaking performance.

Abstract

Tik-Tok application as teaching media is fit in with the students’ need and interests. The goal is to develop Tik-Tok application as media for teaching Speaking at the level of senior high school. Research and Development focus on the steps how to develop Tik-Tok media in the teaching of Speaking. The finding show that Tik-Tok media is needed in learning speaking with the score of 85%. The result of compatibility is also absolutely agreed that Tik-Tok media is compatible with the students’ characteristic (85%). The expertise judgment of Material and Media vaalidate Tik-Tok media with the criteria of “very good” in the aspects of content and video application. It means that the development of Tik-Tok application is feasible to be used as media on Speaking class.

Abstract

Community service activities carried out by IKIP Lecturer Budi Utomo aim to provide an understanding of the socialization of the prototype curriculum and the dynamics of education in the 5.0 era industrial revolution at the Ar-Rahmah Foundation. This foundation is located at Jl. Sidodadi No. 28 Bando Hamlet, Sukolilo, Jabung, Malang Regency, East Java. The Ar-Rahmah Foundation has several institutions under its auspices, MI and MTS. The implementation method used in this activity is the method of discussion and project based learning. This method is in accordance with the purpose of the prototype curriculum as a substitute for the previous curriculum. The prototype curriculum aims to change learning in Indonesia. Curriculum development helps efforts to recover learning caused by the COVID-19 pandemic. The service activity was carried out for three days which was attended by all MI and MTS teachers at the Ar-Rahmah Foundation. The results of this service activity, namely providing socialization and application of the prototype curriculum at the MI and MTS levels.

Abstract

Higher Order Thinking is a skill that requires skills such as analyzing, evaluating, and creating. One way to develop high-order thinking skills in students is to get the problem solved in the form of problem solving, creative thinking and critical thinking.The good from this reasearch is to develop and create evaluation instrument of High Order Thinking (HOT) with Computer Based Test .The items developed have been validated theoretically and valid. Developed Instrument tests were tested on Students from intermediate reading class . Data Collection method used test method and questionnaire method. The data analysis technique used descriptive analysis technique which included analysis of High Order Thinking (HOT) test based on Computer Based Test (CBT ) to know the value of validity, reliability, homogenitas, and Annona . The result of question analysis have validity test with t-account > t-table (t-table =0.2573). While reliability value 0,628 for package 1, reliability value 0,651 for package 2 reliability value 0,721 for package 3, reliability value 0,582 for package 4, reliability value 0,839 for package 5 means the test reliable. From the homogeneous one-way Annona test, it is known that the significance value for each package is 0.000. Thus, P value is smaller than α = 0.05. So it can be concluded if Ho is rejected. It means, there is an effect on students’ thinking from the type of test given . Based on the result from research that done, so it can be concluded that evaluation instrument of High Order Thinking (HOT) with Computer Based Test (CBT) in intermediate reading courses are valid and reliable.

Abstract

The use of narrative text is used to increase understanding of English for elementary students who participate in this joint learning activity. The use of learning materials in schools is also used to help students better understand the lessons in their schools. The results of observations made by the author before starting research show that students lack motivation in learning English because they rarely use it actively in everyday life. Therefore, activities are filled with involving motoric activities that can attract their attention. The results of the activities were very positive, including students becoming more active language learners, having good learning motivation, and being confident in using simple English expressions to their peers.

Abstract

The AutoCrat E-Assessment (AE-A) is an assessment instrument providing students with a clear understanding of the purpose and components of a cover letter, as well as the importance of personalization and professionalism. Students should also learn how to identify their relevant qualifications and skills, and how to effectively communicate them to potential employers. By teaching students how to write a compelling and customized cover letter, they will be better prepared for the job application process and more likely to secure interviews and job offers. The AE-A refers to instructional objectives of cover letter writing. Students should understand that a cover letter is a document that accompanies a job application and serves as an introduction to the potential employer. The cover letter should highlight the candidate's qualifications and skills relevant to the job. Students should learn about the key components of a cover letter, such as the introduction, body, and conclusion. The procedure of making AE-A were started by analyzing instructional objectives. Then, the writing prompt, scoring rubric, and AE-A scoring templete were dveloped by considering previous stage. Validation was done by peer teacher to consider revision of the final product. A valid cover letter should effectively highlight the candidate's skills and experiences that are relevant to the position, and convey a genuine interest in the job and company. Furthermore, reliability can be evaluated by assessing whether different readers interpret the letter in the same way. A reliable cover letter should convey the same message to different readers, regardless of their background or experience.

Abstract

The method used in this research was classroom action research. The researcher conducted this research from February until March 2020 in SMPN 16 Malang. The subject was the students of VIIIH in 2019/2020 academic year. This class consists of 30 students, 17 boys and 13 girls. In collecting the data, the researcher use observation and test. The test were given in pre-test, test 1 and test 2. The researcher analyzed the mean score of each test to find out the improvement of students vocabulary mastery after the action was conducted. The researcher conducted the action the students‟ vocabulary mastery increased optimally. It could be seen from the score that pre-test is 72,3, post-test 1 is 78,2, and post-test 2 is 79,8. Percentage the criteria of success on the pre-test is 53,3% and on the post-test 2 is 73,3%, from pre- test to post-test 2 is 20% After applying the action the researcher was able to solve the problem in improving vocabulary mastery. The students were able to take the word meaning based on the context. By using number head together technique in teaching vocabulary, students could easly understand and memorize vocabulary, the students are enthusiastic and enjoy during teaching learning process.
