Abstract

ABSTRACT In this classroom action research, the researcher used the model of classroom action research developed by Kemmis and Mc Taggart (1999). There are four steps of teaching. Before doing those four steps, the researcher did reconnaissance step by observing the class situation and interviewing the class teacher and the students to know the problems. After knowing the problems, the researcher started to do the four steps of teaching they were planning, implementing, observing, and reflecting. The findings of this result showed that teaching reading comprehension using collaborative strategic reading improved the students` reading comprehension skill. In the first cycle the result was not satisfactory. The students were still passive in class because they did not understand about the method and many of them still found difficulty in understanding the texts. Their mean score of the first cycle was under the MMC. The criterion of success is when students give good response to this method, and also get the mean score that reach the MMC. After implementing the second cycle, the researcher found that the students were more enthusiastic because they knew about the topics of the texts and enjoyed comprehending the texts using CSR. They felt that the method was not boring. Besides that, the students` mean score was 72.85. The second cycle succeeded and proved that the students` mean score improved. It was above the MMC.

Abstract

The problems contained in this paper are described about interpreting what semiotic codes are described in gnomics, proaretics, and hermeneutics in the novel Aroma Karsa by Dee Lestari? and how do the three meanings of the code provide an overview of the detailed learning in Dee Lestari's Aroma Karsa novel? The purpose of this study is to learn in detail about learning to interpret the code contained in the novel Aroma Karsa by Dee Lestari, and to understand the function of meaning contained in the myth in detail from the events in the novel Aroma Karsa by Dee Lestari. The data sources for this paper are: the novel Aroma Karsa, while the check-list data collection techniques and data collection guide instruments have been named. The results of this paper on the gnomic code are related to the myth about a Dwarapala village that inhabits in Alas Kalingga. The residents still believe in the descendants of Mahesa Guning. Life relies on God and supernatural powers. The hermeneutic code deals with the riddle or mystery of the mindset of a man who is too greedy and ambition to get wealth by stealing a box in a closet belonging to a royal relative. Learning about what was stolen, he became greedy to get the scent of Puspa Karsa to be known in the Asian region. Raras invites his adopted son, Suma, who has a keen sense of smell, to find Puspa Karsa in Dwarapala Village in the Kalingga forest. The results of this paper are divided into three, namely: The kernel contains a normal story, the kernel experiences back-lighting and the kernel experiences normality and then climaxes and ends. The stimulation stage is at Kernel 7-42, while the criticality is kernel 43-47: Conflict is at kernel 48 and Complicated Kernel is 49, 50. The climax is at kernels 55, 56, 57, 58, while Leraian is at kernels 59 and 60. The solution is in the kernel. 61.

Abstract

The research was motivated by the debate over cultural affairs of football supporters in both theoretical and empirical levels. From these debates there are a number of relevant problems to be studied further, especially emic perspective, ie with respect to (1) the concept of football supporters socially constructed and is rooted in the view Aremania, (2) typology of football supporters among Aremania accordance with the concepts and categories as well as the basic values of what used as the basis of concepts and categorization, (3) football supporter culture is used as the common reference Aremania and the factors that influence it. This research is a qualitative phenomenological, with three methodological implications, namely (1) to put the focus on the observation and study of the social practices that take place as rergularitas daily, (2) to notice cultural aspects or dimensions that surround the practice of social actors, and (3) to put the actors as knowledgeable agents of social practice, it is necessary for the analysis of strategic conduct. The experiment was conducted in Malang, East Java, precisely in the city of Malang, with feld activities for one year, ie since the beginning of October 2011 to October 2012, and obtained the following results. First, Aremania football fans everywhere characterized as football fans in general. This is consistent with the conception of football supporters who claim that football fans are different from other fans because of the audience but also have high levels of bigotry against high club. However, it is wrong to equate Aremania with other football fans. Because, unlike fanatical fanaticism of Aremania of the other football fans. But the ethics are culture fanatic fans who wanted to be constructed by Aremania. Fanatical but should not be to the extent of harm to others. There is respect for the values of humanity while keeping the honor and dignity of the people of Malang. Secondly, based on the emic perspective, football fans have covered broader meaning than merely watching football. Devoting time and energy maximize resources belonging to supporting his favorite club is also interpreted as a football supporter culture. Even time consuming as well as the soul-body to support his/her favorite team is also defned as the culture of football fans. Third, even football and it’s important for Arema people of Malang, but its primacy over the instrumental is more pride and underwriters including a source of honor and dignity of Malang people. This is consistent with the ethos of the culture of the Malang who “comes frst” matter of honor and dignity.
