Abstract

In Indonesia, English is taught even in the most basic educational institutions, that is Kindergarten. But, most of the Kindergarten teacher did not graduate from English department, so the English they taught often contain the mistakes. This study aimed to identify the mistakes that was made by the teacher during teaching and learning English. The designed of this study is descriptive-qualitative research. The data of this study was collected from the sentences containing mistakes spoken by the teacher in teaching and learning activity at Kindergarten Ar-Roihan Lawang. The result of this study showed that the teacher did some mistakes when she taught English in the class. The researcher found 32 mistakes made by the teacher. The most mistakes made by the teacher is structure of the sentences with 18 mistakes, the second is the plural of nouns with 8 mistakes, and the last is tenses with 6 mistakes.

Abstract

Register is a variation of language that is adapted to the context of language use. This study is a study of urban mama registers in the AIMI and HHBF Facebook groups that are studied with sociolinguistics. The research aims to find several things, namely the register function. The researcher uses a qualitative approach with descriptive analysis. The study uses three methods, namely data collection methods, data analysis, and presentation of data analysis. Data collection using the method of listening and note related to the use of urban mom language in conversations in the AIMI group (Association of Indonesian Breastfeeding Mothers) and HHBF (HeathlyHommade Baby Food), data collection was also carried out by in-depth interviews and FGD. Data analysis uses register analysis, which is analyzing the specific vocabulary used in certain jobs or communities. The method of presenting the results of data analysis is an informal method that is using words that are easily understood. The results showed that the urban mama register function in the AIMI and HHBF groups was 1) emotive function, 2) conative function, 3) referential function, 4) fatigue function, and 5) metalingual function.

Abstract

Abstract: This study aims to determine the types of phonological interference that emerged in Instagram Angelina Duncan. The interferences were described textually according to the results obtained from research subjects. The formulation of the problem in this study is hoe is he vowel, consonant, and Javanes language interference in the use of spoken Indonesian in the material criticrizing the personal experience of early chilhood in Instagram Angelina Duncan This type of research is descriptive qualitative. Data was obtained by recording stories that were done by Instagram Angelina Duncan. The data collection method uses the capable engagement method. The result of this study there are three cases tht occur namely 1) the occurance of interference of vowel sound changes such as, changes in pronunciation of vowel /u/ to /o/, /a/ to /e/, /i/ to /e/, and vocal /e/ in the middle of the word. 2) the occuarnce of consonant change in the form of the edition of a letter and a consonant. For example, the edition of the letter /m/ at he begining of the word, /h/ in the middle of the word, at the and of the word, and the removal of the danial /h/ in the middle of the word. 3) the occurance of cluster sound changes in the form of double consonant removal at the and of the word.

Abstract

There are various kinds of strategies and methods in language learning. Music is one the strategy that can be applied. The aim of this research is to determine the effect of slow music on students' English listening skills. The method of this research is Classroom action research. The subjects of this research were 27 students of the History and Sociology Department of IKIP Budi Utomo. The results of this research explain that the application of slow music has a significant and positive impact on listening ability for the students of History and Sociology Department of IKIP Budi Utomo. Students' response and activeness in learning is very good, their accuracy in pronouncing the words, understanding native speech, and their English vocabulary have increased. Students become more focused in learning because they participate in the teaching and learning process happily without feeling afraid or burdened.
