Abstract

The IAA potentials of endophytic bacteria indigenous isolated from roots palm oil in west Sumatra. Isolate were characterized on the basis of visual observation, gram staining, hypersensitive reaction and IAA producing bacteria. Subsequently, effect on plant growth was tested by nursery palm oil used random design block. Out of 82 isolates, base on gram test 12 isolates were gram negative and 70 isolates grams positive and then results on the reaction hypersensitive test (HR test) there are 8 isolates that positive which means the isolate cannot be applied on the soil and plant. Eighty isolates selected were able to produce IAA that was between ppm 0,30ppm - 3,65ppm. Seven isolates showed clearly the growth promoting plant under field condition. Hence, these isolates are promising plant growth promoting isolates showing multiple attributes that can significantly influence the nursery palm oil. The result of present study, treatment E3.1.2 has higher plant most of the other treatment i.e. 21,93 cm and number of leaves i.e. 4,33 leaves.

Abstract

The quality improvement of ramie, including inner and outer aspects are required to be developed to optimalize its production. Unlike horticulture and food crops, ramie cultivation is not constrained by the soil type. This study was aimed to evaluate the agronomical characteristics of three ramie clones in ultisol land. This study was performed using descriptive analysis method with purposive sampling by collecting 10 clumps per clone. Clones of fiber ramie used were Ramindo 1, Bandung A and Lembang A. All clones were planted in ultisol soil located in 350 m above sea level from September 2015 until March 2016. The highest fiber production was achieved from Ramindo 1 followed by Bandung A and Lembang A. The resulted fiber from all clones was considered as quality class II fiber marked by the nominal value ranging from 400-450. Bandung A exhibited the best quality of fiber with nominal value of 450. In terms of its chemical composition, fiber produced by Lembang A contained the highest cellulose (74.7%) with the lowest lignin content (3.6%).

Abstract

Background and Objective: The purpose of this research is to get to be able to identify local patchouli plants that are able to produce the best plantlets in many concentrations of BAP. Materials and Methods: The research conducted in Laboratory of Tissue Culture Faculty of Agriculture, Andalas University from May until November 2019. The research material used in this study was the accession of patchouli plants in West Sumatra, namely: Situak and method of research is completely randomized design. Results: Concentrations of 0.5 ppm kinetin + 0.5 ppm BAP, 0.5 ppm kinetin + 1 ppm BAP and 1 ppm kinetin + 1 ppm BAP can stimulate organogenesis (bud) in vitro

Abstract

Oil palm is an important industrial crop as a producer of oil and fuel Palm oil produces various derivative products that are rich in benefits in the food, pharmaceutical, and cosmetic industries.. Minyak kelapa sawit This research was carried out in the Oil Palm Research Center (PPKS) development garden in Sungai Dareh, Pulau Punjung District, Dharmasraya . The research was conducted for 3 months on December 2018 until February 2019. The objective of this study was to know the morphological characters of oil palm (Elaeis guineensis Jacq.) D x P Marihat variety (results of tissue culture) and D x P Sungai Pancur variety (results of conventional crossing) in PPKS development garden , Dharmasraya. The research method was a descriptive method, by this method the researcher can see and explain the morphological characteristics of oil palm plants. Sampling was by purposive sampling. The results showed that there are different variations on 9 observed variables whereas one similarity was obtained on variable phyllotaxis between varieties D x P Sungai Pancur and D x P Marihat in the PPKS development garden in Sungai Dareh, Pulau Punjung District, Dharmasraya.

Abstract

Flax/jute is natural fiber plants that that produce fiber from the bark. Ramie fiber has a better quality than the others natural fiber, so it can meet fiber the increase needs cultivar with the best chemical composition of fiber. The aim of this study was to detect the chemical composition of fiber in several clones of ramie from West Sumatera. The study was conducted on December 2018 at the Laboratory of Technology Agriculture Product Andalas University for analyzed the content of chemical composition (water, ash, holocellulose, cellulose, hemicellulose, and lignin). The result of this study showed that the highest level of water content, ash, hemicellulose, and lignin were found in Situjuah clones those are 40.43, 6.74, 14.39, and 9.98% respectively. Whereas for the highest level of holocellulose and cellulose contents were in Ramindo 1 clone those were 70.23 and 58.46% respectively.
