Humardani No. 1 Jombor Sukoharjo 57521 Telp. (0271) 593156 Abstrak Variasi bahasa yang digunakan seseorang ada bermacam-macam. Dialek sosial adalah variasi bahasa yang dapat menunjukan dari kelas sosial menakah seorang penutur itu berasal. Di antara dialek-dialek sosial yang ada dalam masyarakat ada yang diangap standar dan ada yang dianggap tidak standar. Terjadinya hal tersebut lebih dikarenakan adanya intervensi dari masyarakat tutur. Standarisasi dialek biasanya bermula kalangan penutur yang terpelajar untuk membedakan diri dari kelompok sosial yang lain. Akan tetapi menurut pandangan sosiolinguistik baik bahasa yang standar maupun yang vernacular hanyalah merupakan realisasi dari variasi bahasa semata.    kata-kata kunci: dialek, sosial, masyarakat

Abstract

Speaking skills in English is a very important skill in general communication. This skill is needed even since school age children. SD Negeri Jombor 03 Bendosari Sukoharjo is located in Jombor sub-district, Bendosari sub-district, Sukoharjo regency, which has students with relatively low English speaking ability. This is evidenced from the document a student's grade is relatively lace that obtained by the researchers through observation.The purpose of this study is to provide convenience for students of SD Negeri Jombor 03 Bendosari Sukoharjo to improve their speaking skills, especially to introduce themselves and their families. The method used by researchers is practice individually, in pairs, and in groups. This method provides an opportunity for students to be more active and expressive to express ideas, and bring up peer tutors to reduce the tension or pressure that obtained indirectly in a foreign language learning. In addition to the planned method, researchers also made use of LCD media and letter cards along with plastic boards to help students more easily absorb the material. This media was contributed quite a lot.The students feel happy, enthusiastic and more expressive in accepting the material provided.The researchers obtained the data by  field observations, then the researchers made other instruments such as questionaire sheets, pretests and evaluations. The results of this study are quite significant. The students was increased by 30.66% than of the results of the pretest and posttest. This method is expected to be carried out elsewhere so that the benefits can be felt in the wider community.

Abstract

Language for politics is different to other language style for the characteristic of politics that tends to be serious. However, this serious message can be delivered more relax with cartoon or can be called, now, as meme. This research belongs to qualitative research, the data of the research is political meme in instagram account. The data were collected by using documentation and simak catat method. Validity of data was found by using triangulation theories and all the data were analyzed by using Interactive Models by Miles and Huberman. From the research results of the political meme on the Instagram account comikita. ig and polyclitik can be concluded as follows: 1) The forms of speech in political memes are news, questions, commands and excitement 2) The implications of the implications contained in political memes in the form of political talks that lead to the development of conflicts in the form of political orders, political feelings in the form of threats from political figures, journalist independence, political promises, innuendos, political orders, political anger, political outcry, political regret. These political messages lead to political emotions that worsen political conflict. k Bahasa politik berbeda dengan ragam bahasa lainnya karena sifat atau muatan politik yang cenderung serius. Namun demikian, pesan yang serius ini bisa disampaikan dengan gaya yang lebih ringan melalui gambar kartun atau yang sekarang ini terkenal dengan sebutan meme. Metode penelitian ini merupakan metode penelitian deskripstif kualitatif. Data dalam penetlitian ini adalah meme politik yang terdapat pada akun instagram. Pengumpulan data dilakukan dengan menggunakan metode dokumentasi dan metode simak catat. Data dalam akun instragram di screenshot kemudian disimak dengan teliti semua ujaran yang ada dalam akun tersebut untuk kemudian dicatat dalam kartu data. Validitas data dilakukan dengan menggunakan triangulasi teori dan teknik analisis data dilakukan dengan menggunakan model interaktif Miles dan Huberman. Dari hasil penelitian meme politik akun instagram komikkita.ig dan poliklitik dapat disimpulkan sebagai berikut: 1. Bentuk tuturan meme politik tersebut adalah berita, tanya, perintah dan seru. 2. Makna implikatur yang terdapat dalam meme politik berupa pembicaraan politik yang mengarah kepada pengembangan konflik berupa perintah politik, perasaan politik yang berupa ancaman dari tokoh politik, independensi jurnalis, janji-janji politik, sindiran-sindiran, perintah politik, kemarahan politik, teriakan politik, penyesalan politik. Pesan-pesan politik tersebut mengarah pada emosi politik yang memperkeruh konflik politik.

Abstract

Bahasa Inggris merupakan salah satu mata pelajaran yang diajarkan di sekolah dasar (SD). Pengajaran bahasa Inggris ditingkat SD juga harus memperhatikan speaking karena salah satu unsurbahasa yang sangat penting adalah kosa kata (speaking). Penguasaan kosakata yang memadahi sangat diperlukan untuk keberhasilan penggunaan Bahasa (L2) karena tanpa penguasaan speaking yang memadahi kita tidak akan dapat menggunakan struktur dan fungsi-fungsi untuk berkomunikasi. Teknik yang tepat untuk menciptakan pengajaran bahasa Inggris yang efektif yaitu dengan menekankan perolehan speaking yang diperlukan untuk membantu siswa belajar tanpa ada rasa takut.Metode yang digunakan dalam pengabdian ini dengan memakai media mini drama yang menarik perhatian siswa Kelas 5 SDN Jombor 1 Sukoharjo. Dimana kegiatan umum pelatihan ini diawali dengan penyuluhan untuk mengenalkan media yang dipakai dalam pembelajaran bahasa Inggris, terutama media yang menggunakan cerita yang menarik berwujud short dialog, mendengarkan rekaman short story mini drama secara daring dengan memberikan contoh cara mempergunakan mini drama untuk menambah kosakata baru bahasa Inggris, dilanjutkan dengan pendampingan mini drama dalam bahasa Inggris sampai dinilai siswa cukup mampu belajar secara mandiri, terakhir dengan melakukan evaluasi untuk mengetahui sejauh mana pengetahuan para siswa tentang materi speaking  yang telah dipahami siswa.Target yang ingin dicapai dari pengabdian ini adalah meningkatknya pengetahuan tentang penguasaan speaking bagi siswa Kelas 5 SDN Jombor 1 Sukoharjo.   Luaran yang dicapai dari pengabdian ini adalah kemampuan berkomunikasi dalam Bahasa Inggris terkait dengan speaking. Penambahan kosakata baru dalam penguasaan speaking dalam Bahasa Inggris untuk dapat mengoptimalisasikan dan memaksimalkan aplikasi mini drama dalam kegiatan belajar mengajar sebagai bahasa rutin sehari-hari.

Abstract

Permendikbud No. 66/2013 concerning assessment standards explains that the assessment techniques and instruments used in the 2013 Curriculum include competency assessment of attitudes, knowledge, and skills. This means that learning and assessment must develop students' competencies related to the affective, cognitive, and psychomotor domains. Assessment of the affective domain is important because assessing the affective domain must be carried out in learning activities. The education unit needs to design and develop an appropriate affective domain assessment to achieve optimal learning objectives. In this study, the affective domain rating scale uses skills assessment using a Likert scale. Think Talk Write is a learning model that can improve activity and communication among students. Ngalimun argues that the Think Talk Write learning model is a type of learning model that starts with thinking through the reading material, communicated with presentations, discussions, and then reports on the presentation results.

Abstract

This research was conducted to find out realities that showed on discourse of car advertisements in television based on the criticaldiscourse analysis theory by Guy Cook and to know the purposes that are showed in car advertisements on television.This research used the Critical Discourse Analysis based on Guy Cook’s theory. It is a descriptive qualitative research in conductingthe research. The data of this research are 21 car advertisements that are in four commercial televisions, such as metro TV, Trans 7, MNC TV, andRCTI. The data are taken from spoken text, written text, and also expression of the advertisement models. The researcher also uses respondents toanswer the questionnaire. This questionnaire is used to answer second problem statement that is the purposes that are showed in car advertisementsin television.Based on the analysis, eight elements of Guy Cook’s theory in Critical Discourse Analysis are substance, music and pictures,paralanguage, situation, co-text, intertext, participant, and function. It can be concluded that 100% of 21 car advertisements contains substance,music and pictures, paralanguage, situation, participant, and function. From 21 car advertisement, there are two car advertisements that contain cotext.So the percentage is 9, 52%. Then, only Daihatsu (Man. City vs Daihatsu Team version) that didn’t contained in intertext. So, the percentageof the car advertisements that contain intertext is 90, 47%.Based on the questionnaires which were distributed to the 15 people in all segments, the purposes of car advertisements are to influencethe people to choose the product based on its strengths. Because of advertisement, the power of interest also appears by the costumer to buy thisproduct.Based on the findings, it is suggested that the teacher have to conduct some research about Critical Discourse Analysis in other subjects.For the student, it is expected they can explore Critical Discourse Analysis in other theories, such as theory from Roger Fowler and friends,Theo Van Leeuwenn, Sara Mills, Van Dijk, and Norman Fairclough. For other researchers, it suggested to conduct a research in other subject ofadvertisement and other theories of Critical Discourse Analysis. Besides, it is also suggested to the other researcher to analyze the data which aretaken from the different data sources, such as advertisements and articles in magazines, newspaper, and others.

Abstract

The objectives of this research were 1) to classify types of quality maxim, 2) to describe the types of quality maxim violation in the dialogue between students and lecturers in the process of thesis guidance.This research belongs to qualitative research. The data were all dialogues between lecturers and students having quality maxim (either violating or obeying), while the data source was the lecturers and students in the process of thesis guidance itself. This research used two kinds of data collection method, they were documentation and content analysis. The instruments were tape recorder and data cards, while the methods of data analysis were reduction, display and verification.After having analysis, it could be seen that the results of this research were type of qualitymaxim: obeying maxim and violating maxim. The violations were in the field of content(material), methodology and writing system.

Abstract

Sektor pariwisata menjadi bagian yang signifikan dalam membantu mengembangkan ekonomi kerakyatan pada masa kini. Dalam kurun waktu sejak Indonesaia mengalami badai krisis pada tahun 1997 hingga sekarang geliat sektor pariwisata sudah mengalami perkembangan yang lebih baik. Revitalization dilakukan untuk berbenah dan menjadikan dunia pariwisata memiliki positioning sector yang baik dalam pengembangan ekonomi kerakyatan. Objek wisata Tawangmangu Kabupaten Karanganyar  yang terletak diperbatasan  karanganyar  telah mendapatkan sentuhan peremajaan yang signifikan. Terbukti dengan banyaknya wisatawan domestik dan mancanegara yang mengunjungikedua obyek wisata yang berada di lereng gunung Lawu tersebut. Berdasarkan data dari Dinas Pariwisata dan Kebudayaan diketahui bahwa wisatawan berbahasa Inggris yang berasal dari Singapura, Australia, dan Amerika yang berkunjung ke kota Solo menunjukkan peningkatan yang sangat signifikan yakni rata-rata 24 orang per hari dengan lama tinggal (length of stay) 3 hari. Pesona air terjun grojogan sewu serta candi dengan pemandangan alam dan sejuknya pegununganmenjadikan peluang usaha bagi tukang kuda untuk menyewakan kuda mengantarkan para wisatawan menikmati pemandangan alam. Tentunya dituntut kesiapan sumber daya manusia di bidang pariwisata, khususnya para tukang kuda yang mampu berbahasa Inggris baik dari segi kualitas maupun kuantitassangat diperlukan, terutama di daerah wisata.  Kegiatan  Pengabdian kepada Masyarakat ini bertujuan untuk mengasah keahlian dan menambah keterampilan para tukang kuda di Tawangmangu untuk berbicara dalam bahasa Inggris dan unggah ungguh bahasa Jawa. Melalui penguasaan etika berbahasa diharapkan mitra mampu mengenalkan daerah wisata di Tawangmangu  pada khususnya dan daerah wisata di kabupaten Karanganyar pada umumnya, karena ramah tamah masyarakat dalam menyambut wisatawan seakan menjadi paket ‘wajib’ yang diinginkan pula oleh para wisatawan. Untuk menunjang hal tersebut, diperlukan adanya kegitan pelatihan dengan sistematis yang dimulai dengan pendalaman secara teoriritis dan dikembangkan secara praktis. Pelatihan ini menggunakan metode ceramah, diskusi tanya jawab, dan praktik dengan melibatkan mitra para tukang kuda yang tergabung dalam paguyuban tukang kuda. Rencana luaran wajib kegiatan pelatihan ini berupa artikelilmiah untuk dipublikasikan dalam jurnal maupun prosiding. Abstract

English as an International language, as a language of communication is a foreign language that is considered to be used in the curriculum of learning in Indonesia. English is considered very important for the purpose of developing science, technology, and culture and is used to build international cooperation (Depdikbud, 1981). English learning includes 4 skills namely; reading, writing, speaking,and writing. The four skills are related to each other and can not be separated. The main objective of this research is to provide English subjects for PGSD students, especially to provide basic education about English learning activities in Elementary School. Non-English study programs within the Veteran Bangun Nusantara Sukoharjo University also teach English courses as general courses which include the material design and how to present it, from the things mentioned above, it will be used as the background to reveal the problems which will bediscussed in this study. The reason why the English course is given to non-English students in this case is elementary school students (PGSD), especially at Veteran Bangun Nusantara Sukoharjo University, is to pursue the development of the world in science and technology. The target of the output to be achieved is enrichment of English lecture materials for PGSD students in addition to the module making as a guideline for English lectures and scientific publications for this PDP research.Based on the research focus, this type of research includes qualitative descriptive research. The subjects of this study are non-English students Univet Bantara Sukoharjo, especially PGSD students.This subject is considered a beginner category in English language learning. Abstract

English is the international language used until now. Because of the importance of the use of English, Indonesian government makes English as a foreign language that was first used (Department of Education, 1981). English began to be taught in Indonesian since the primary school level. Nevertheless, English is only used as an additional subjects or entry into local charge although simple in its early stages as introduction course. This study was conducted to determine whether the application of 'Guessing Games' in the teaching of 'speaking' in second Class at SDN Jombor 1, Sukoharjo can improve student achievement, student interest and motivation of students to the lesson. Based on the research focus on this type of research include descriptive qualitative research. The subject of this study is the second grade students of SDN 01 Jombor Sukoharjo. Data collection techniques to collect data before and after the assessment of such things as the following indispensable namely: interviews, observation, Implementation of Guessing games in learning, and methods of documentation in the form of recording applications of Guessing Game. Based on the results of the study can be concluded as follows; interesting technique can improve the performance of students in learning English since elementary school. This can be seen through the observation of teaching and learning activities in the classroom, the results of interviews and visits from post test results or the value of increased student learning. By using guessing games in teaching speaking, interest and motivation of students to talk can rise well, they are also active in the classroom, in the sense of a positive active involved in learning activities.Keywords: speaking, motivasi, guesing games,
