Abstract

Hydraulic system is one of the systems on the heavy equipment unit which is very important for students to understand. The problem that exists in the heavy equipment engineering laboratory at this time is that there is no hydraulic pump test equipment to determine whether the pump that has been repaired is in standard condition or not. To overcome the problems and to support the lecture process, the hydraulic pump test equipment was made. as a tool for testing the feasibility and specifications of the gear type pump. After all the design processes and assembling the required tools, a series of tests will be carried out. The form of tool testing is carried out in the form of pump flow liters per minute, pump pressure in various RPM variations. From the test results, it was found that at RPM 900 the pressure was 100 Psi Flow reading 11 and Flow rate 209, at RPM 1100 pressure 12 Psi Flow reading 15 and Flow Rate 285, At 1372 Pressure 14 Psi Flow reading 19 and flow rate 361, RPM 1500 Pressure 16 Psi Flow reading 19 and Flow rate 437

Abstract

The cooling system is one of five systems in the engine, which function to maintain a stable engine operating temperature. This research was conducted to determine the damage to the cooling system components. The object under investigation is the water pump and thermostart on the Caterpillar C6.4 engine. The method used in this research is field observation, library research, measuring, inspection, and consulting with experts. According to the appropriate literature, component damage that commonly occurs in water pumps and thermostarts is erosion, cavitation erosion, abrasive wear, adhesive wear, and fretting corrosion. After a visual inspection is carried out, measurements are carried out, then an analysis is carried out referring to the appropriate literature, in this case the GRPTS and SIS. The results of this study found that there was corrosion damage to components due to improper maintenance and the use of coolant that was not up to standard.

Abstract

Design and manufacture of this simulator aims to explain how the movement of the differential components. The components of this differential simulation consist of a differential case, pinion gear or spider gear, side gear, spider shaft, electric motor, pulley, v-belt and dimmer (motor speed controller). The method used in making this simulator is to start by first making a simulator design and then continuing with the collection of tools and materials needed. From testing the components of the simulator tool which was carried out for 50 minutes, it was found that every 10 minutes the temperature increased due to the lubrication system that was not maximized. Tests to determine the correlation between the dimmer and the RPM of the electric motor, it was found that any decrease in the resistance value will result in an increase in the RPM value of the electric motor. These results also show that the maximum value of the motor RPM after being assembled is 1435 RPM. Then the test when given a load found that the shaft axle rotation speed of the differential will change if there is a load on one side. From this test, it can be seen that there is an increase in the RPM value on the side of the shaft axle which rotates freely when the other shaft is given a load. With this simulator, it can also provide an overview of how the movement of the differential gears contained in the axle of a unit vehicle so that you can understand how it works

Abstract

Sistem kelistrikan, khususnya motor starter dan alternator pada kendaraan alat berat merupakan sistem yang sangat vital, oleh karena itu sebagai seorang operator alat berat harus bisa merawat dan memperbaikinya. Keberhasilan Pelaksanaan program Kegiatan Training fundamental engine system dapat dilihat dari beberapa tolak ukur yakni respon positif dari peserta training yang diukur melalui observasi langsung dan pendekatan persuasif dengan mengadakan diskusi, tanya jawab dan presentasi terhadap peserta, meningkatnya keterampilan peserta setelah mendapat training fundamental engine system. Dalam Training fundamental engine system ini selain diajarkan perawatan komponen alat berat dengan pemahaman mengenai fundamental engine system juga diajarkan tentang keselamatan dan kesehatan kerja (K3) ditempat training. Selama Pelaksanaan Program Kegiatan Training fundamental electric system mulai dari tahap persiapan sampai tahap pelaksanaannya, dapat kami sampaikan temuan-temuan sebagai berikut antusiasme peserta training fundamental electric system untuk warga Kelurahan Harapan Baru Kecamatan Loa Janan Ilir–Samarinda sangat baik, dengan diadakannya training ini dapat membantu Warga Kelurahan Harapan Baru Kecamatan Loa Janan Ilir – Samarinda yang nantinya akan digunakan sebagai bekal untuk mencari kerja dan berkompetisi dengan yang lainnya.

Abstract

Excavator merupakan unit alat berat yang paling vital fungsinya dalam proses exploitasi lahan disite pertambangan. Akibat beban kerja yang sangat padat, komponen-komponen alat berat khususnya pada Excavator akan mengalami berbagai kerusakan. Salah satu dari komponen yang rentan mengalami kerusakan adalah komponen Directional Control Valve. Pada unit alat berat terutama Excavator, Spool merupakan salah satu komponen yang terletak di dalam Control Valve, komponen ini sangat penting dalam Hydraulic System yang berfungsi untuk mengatur membuka dan menutupnya arah aliran Fluida ke sebuah Attachment salah satunya adalah Boom. Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah mengindikasikan bahwa dengan mengetahui jenis-jenis kerusakan tersebut, akan didapat akar penyebab masalahnya (root cause). Metode dari penelitian ini adalah dalam rangka untuk mencari dan mengumpulkan data guna mendapatkan suatu gambaran fakta – fakta yang jelas mengenai kerusakan pada spool control valve excavator type Caterpillar 320D. Hasil yang diperoleh adalah dengan perbaikan tuntas yang dilakukan hingga akar penyebab masalah dapat mengurangi pekerjaan yang berulang terhadap kerusakan yang sama, sehingga waktu yang terbuang yang diakibatkan oleh unit breakdown dapat dikurangi sehingga produktifitas dari unit dapat ditingkatkan. Untuk mengurangi biaya perbaikan akibat kerusakan Spool pada komponen Control Valve, maka ditekankan pada program preventive maintenance pada Hydraulic System.
