Abstract

Common palm civets (Paradoxurushermaphroditus) have a potential to be commercial commodityanimal which produce best coffee, parfume, but also as reservoir potential infection desease such as SevereAcute Respiratory Syndrome (SARS). Therefore, their health status is very important. This study wasaimed to discribe the leukocyte profile, and stress index of 4 males Java common pal civets and 4 females.Blood sampling was taken from vena femoralis and done at weeks 1st, 5th, 6th, and 7th. Leukocyte profilewere examined using haemocytometerand blood smear. The average leukocyte count of males and femalescommon palm civets per mm3 were (3.33±0.86)x103 and (2.83±0.70)x103, neutrophil were (1.01±0.47)x103and (0.68±0.30)x103, eosinophil were (0.16±0.18)x103 and (0.04±0.05)x103, lymphocyte were (2.06±0.42)x103and (2.05±0.59)x103, monocyte were (0.09±0.06)x103 and (0.06±0.06)x103. Stress index were (0.49±0.18)for males and (0.37±0.22) for females. Generally, leukocyte count of males Java common palm civet werehigher than those of females.

Abstract

The abundance and diversity of the parasitoid of banana leaf skipper pest (Erionota thrax L.) in South Lampung Regency. This research was conducted to determine the abundance, diversity, and parasitation ability of several parasitoids of the banana skipper or banana leafroller (Erionota thrax) in South Lampung Regency. This research was carried out with a survey method by taking out samples of larvae and pupae of E. thrax in the District of Natar, Jati Agung, and Tanjung Bintang, South Lampung. Results of the survey showed that there were 8 types of parasitoids recovered from larvae or pupae of E. thrax, i.e. Brachymeria lasus (Chalcididae: Hymenoptera), B. thracis (Chalcididae: Hymenoptera), Charops sp. (Ichneumonidae: Hymenoptera), Casinaria sp. (Ichneumonidae: Hymenoptera), Xanthopimpla sp. (Ichneumonidae: Hymenoptera), Cotesia erionotae (Braconidae: Hymenoptera), and two parasitoids Diptera (Tachinidae and Sarcophagidae). The highest abundance of parasitoid was found in Tanjung Bintang with 171 parasitoids (index of diversity (H’) = 1.0256 and index of evenness (E) = 0.5724). In Natar District, the abundance of parasitoid was 63 parasitoids, but it had a greater H’ value (1.4396) and E-value (0.7398). Meanwhile, in Jati Agung District, the abundance of parasitoid was 56 individuals but the value of H’ was also high, which was 1.012 with the value of E of 0.6064. The percentages of parasitation to the larvae and pupae E. thrax were 55.01% (Tanjung Bintang District), 31.68% (Natar District) and 33.34% (Jati Agung District).

Abstract

Parasitization and reproductive capacity of Cotesia flavipes Cameron (Hymenoptaera: Braconidae) on different hosts and instar in laboratory. C. flavipes is an important parasitoid on sugar cane spotted borer, Chilo sacchariphagus Bojer. The biology informations of C. flavipes is needed in order to make more effective as acontroling agent. The objectives of this research were to investigate the effect of host species (C. sacchariphagus, C. auricilius, Scirpophaga nivella) and different instar on parasitization and reproductive capacity of C. flavipes. The results showed that the best host for C. flavipes is C. sacchariphagus and at fifth instar of C. sacchariphagus.

Abstract

Usaha Kecil dan Menengah (UKM) Es Puter di Kota Malang juga masih menghadapi berbagaipermasalahan salah satunya adalah pemasaran. Strategi pemasaran adalah salah satu cara memenangkankeunggulan bersaing yang berkelanjutan baik itu untuk perusahaan yang memproduksi barang ataujasa. Penelitian ini memiliki tujuan untuk: mendapat gambaran mengenai strategi pemasaran untukmeningkatkan daya saing, dan untuk mengetahui seberapa efektif pelaksanaan strategi pemasaran yangtelah dilakukan dengan mengidentifikasi dan menjelaskan kekuatan dan kelemahan (lingkunganinternal) serta peluang dan ancaman (lingkungan eksternal) serta merumuskan srtategi pemasaran EsPuter yang tepat melalui analisis SWOT (Strengths, Weaknesess, Opportunities, dan Threats).Penelitian ini dilakukan di UKM Es Puter Malang. Metode Penelitian menggunakan pengumpulandatanya dengan dokumentasi, wawancara dan observasi, jenis penelitian deskriptif. Hasil dari analisisefektifitas strategi pemasaran menunjukkan adanya peningkatan yang signifikan.

Abstract

Bhakti Persada Building is one of the main buildings at Ma Chung University that serves as a place for the lecture process and student activities. Every room of Bhakti Persada Building has an AC that is on every day and there are very adequate windows and vents. The study aims to provide thermal comfort to the space users by measure temperature, humidity, and wind speed before and after the engineering of space facilities using SNI 6390: 2011 for temperature and humidity as well as the MENKES No.261 / MENKES / SK / 11/1998 standard for wind speed. In addition, this study was also conducted by paying attention to environmental issues, especially energy utilization, so that later it will be obtained scheduling to use of air conditioners as well as the efficiency of the use of electrical energy after the engineering of space facilities. The results of thermal comfort analysis after engineering the room facilities, obtained the time zone of the lecture room using a propeller fan is the time zone I and II for all sizes of lecture rooms while for time zone III all lecture rooms will use air conditioning because the temperature increases ± 0, 5 ° C, and for time zone IV lecture rooms with sizes 5 x 9 m, 6 x 9 m and 8 x 9 m the second floor will use a fan and a room size 8 x 9 m and 10 x 9 m third floor will use AC. After the engineering of space facilities, it was also found that the efficiency of the use of electrical energy in the lecture hall of the Bhakti Persada Building was 53%.
