Abstract

The aim of this study was determinated of lactoferrin profile in goat milk and kefir. The samples were collected from whey raw milk, pasteurized and kefir. Lactoferrin profile in this study consisted of concentration and molecule weight of lactoferrin. Goat lactoferrin was isolated from whey by fractionation on sephadex     G-100 column, it was eluted at 0.1 M phosphate buffer pH 6.8. Characterization of goat lactoferrin by electrophoretic SDS-PAGE techniques detected molecule weight of goat lactoferrin that the isolate of the fractions from fractionation on sephadex G-100 column. Result of the research  showed that pasteurization during storage after fermentation process were influenced by concentration of lactoferrin significant (P<0.05). The molecule weights of lactoferrin in goat milk and kefir were estimated at 84 kDa and 80 kDa. The average concentration of goat lactoferrin at 1.915 mg/ml (without pasteurized), 1.579 mg/ml (pasteurized at 65oC), 0.954 mg/ml (pasteurized at 73oC) and 0.322 mg/ml (pasteurized at 83oC). The average concentration of goat lactoferrin in kefir during storage at 0.663 mg/ml (0 day), 0.448 mg/ml (3  day), 0.249 mg/ml (6 day), 0.142 mg/ml (9 day) dan 0.048 mg/ml (12 day).  Pasteurization at temperature 65oC 30’’ can defend concentration of lactoferrin higher than temperature 73oC 15’’  and temperature 83oC 2’’. Abstract

Liriomyza huidobrensis Blanchard was originally described in Argentina and has now been found worldwide. In Indonesia, this species was first recorded on potato in 1994 in Bogor, West Java. The failure of quarantine procedure is blamed for introduction of LMF worldwide. In most cases, cultivation of vegetables such as potato as a cash crop has relied heavily on the use of pesticides, often excessively so with growers frequently spraying on a calendar basis, irrespective of the level of the pest population. Surveys have been conducted on vegetables farmers in the Bromo highlands region of East Java, Indonesia on the perceived importance of L. huidobrensis and the control methods adopted. the results of the survey suggested that LMF infestation in the Bromo Highlands Region has become a very serious problem, almost certainly due to the misuse of insecticides

Abstract

Opius sp. is koinobiont endoparasitoid of L. huidobrensis larvae. Opius sp. has shortlife cycle, high fecundity and able to parasite at different larvae stages. The research objective was todetermine effect of larvae stages of LMF on parasitsm, fitness, development time and longevity ofOpius sp. The research was conducted at Laboratory of Biological Control and Glass house of Pestand Plant Diseases Departement, Agriculture Faculty, Jember University from from April until July2007. The insect were collected from Ngadisari, subdistrict of Sukapura, Probolinggo. The experimentwas done on two methods, choice and non choice test. Percentage of parasitization, the sting time,development time, longevity, sex ratio, body lenght, hind and hind tibia of adult female and male ofparasitoid Opius sp were examined. The result showed that the sting time of Opius sp. was influencedby larvae. The lates stages of LMF has the higher sting time compare early stages, 44,28 s on firstinstar, 54,9 s on second instar, and 80,68 third instar respectly. Parasitization of parasitoid Opius sp.was not influenced by larvae stage of L. huidobrensis. The percentage of parasitization on choice testwas 28,49% on first instar, 17,43% on second instar and 14,95% third instar. On the other hand, onnon chice test was 48,21% on first instar, 54,52% on second instar and 54,00% on third instar. Sexratio, adult fitness, body length, hind and hind tibia length, development time, longevity wereinfluenced by larvae stages.

Abstract

The aim of this study was to know the protein content and amino acid profile of filial Etawah and castrated Boer goat meat. The results were expected to be used as information about protein content and amino acid composition of filial Etawah and filial castrated Boer goat meat and  as a reference for further experiment about different livestock. The material of the research were loin meat, front  and back thigh of filial Etawah and filial castrated Boer goat meat. Data were analysed with t-test. The results showed that castrated filial Boer goat meat had significantly higher protein content  and 7 essensial amino acids namely lysine, leucine, arginine, phenylalanine, isoleucine, valine and histidine compared to the one from filial Etawah goat meat. Abstract

ABSTRACT Coffee Berry Borer (Hypothenemus hampei Ferr.) Is the main pest in coffee plants in Indonesia. Characteristics of coffee berries that are attacked by pests, there is a small hole in the coffee berry and powder around it. Control is carried out biologically, technically, and chemically. These control techniques need to be tested for effectiveness in the laboratory. The test requires the insect H. hampei as a test insect. H. hampei can be obtained by mass propagation. Mass propagation can be done using artificial diet. This study was conducted to determine the effect of artificial diet on the life cycle of H. hampei. This study uses descriptive methods on 2 types of feed treatment; natural diet of coffee berry and artificial diet made from wheat powder and coffee powder. The results showed that the number of eggs produced by H. hampei in natural diet treatment could range from 30 to 46 eggs and every 3 days observation could lay eggs from 0 to 22 eggs. The percentage of eggs that succeeded in being imago was 95.32% with a sex ratio of 1: 10. The duration of life of H. hampei ranged from 100 to 150 days, with a period of 5-6 days, larvae 18-19 days and pupae 4-5 days. In the artificial diet, the egg method is able to grow into a second instar larval stage with a life span of 19 days. Keywords: Life Cycle, Coffee Berry Borer, Natural Diet, Artificial Diet ABSTRAK Penggerek Buah Kopi (Hypothenemus hampei Ferr.) merupakan hama utama padla tanaman kopi di Indonesia. Ciri – ciri buah kopi yang terserang hama ini, yaitu terdapat lubang kecil pada buah kopi dan serbuk disekitarnya. Pengendalian dapat dilakukan secara biologi, kultur teknis, dan kimiawi. Teknik – teknik pengendalian tersebut perlu diuji keefektifannya di laboratorium. Pengujian tersebut memerlukan serangga H. hampei sebagai serangga uji. Serangga H. hampei dapat diperoleh dengan perbanyakan secara massal. Perbanyakan massal dapt dilakukan dengan menggunakan pakan buatan. Penelitian ini dilakukan untuk mengetahui pengaruh pakan buatan terhadap siklus hidup serangga H. hampei. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode deskriptif pada 2 macam perlakuan pakan; pakan alami buah kopi dan pakan buatan dari bahan dasar bubuk gandum dan bubuk kopi. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa jumlah telur yang dihasilkan serangga H. hampei pada perlakuan pakan alami mampu berkisar 30 – 46 telur dan setiap 3 hari pengamatan dapat bertelur 0 – 22 telur. Persentase telur yang berhasil menjadi imago 95,32% dengan sex rasio 1 : 10. Lama hidup H. hampei berkisar 100 – 150 hari, dengan masa telur 5 – 6 hari, masa larva 18 – 19 hari dan masa pupa 4 – 5 hari. Pada pakan buatan yang menerapakan metode telur mampu tumbuh menjadi stadia larva instar 2 dengan masa hidup larva sampai 19 hari. Abstract

Era globalisisi saat ini, industri kecil dituntut untuk meningkatkan produktivitasagar dapat bersaing untuk kelangsungan hidup. Dalam upaya meningkatkan produktivitaskerja perlu adanya usaha yang kondusif untuk mengoptimalkan sistem kerja. Peningkatanproduktivitas akan tercapai jika semua komponen dalam sistem kerja dirancang secaraergonomis. Sistem kerja pada industri gerabah di Kasongan Bantul banyak melibatkanaktivitas fisik, sehingga perlu sistem kerja yang ergonomi untuk dapat meningkatkanproduktivitas. Pada penelitian ini dilakukan perbaikan sistem kerja pada industri gerabahdi Kasongan dengan pendekatan ergonomi total. Rancangan penelitian yang digunakanadalah rancangan eksperimental yang menggunakan randomized pre and post-test controlgroup design dengan jumlah sampel 14 orang untuk masing-masing kelompok. Hasilpenelitian menunjukkan bahwa sistem kerja dengan pendekatan ergonomi total dapat : (a)menurunkan keluhan muskuloskeletal pekerja sebesar 87,8% ; (b) menurunkan kelelahanpekerja sebesar 77,5% ; (c) menurunkan beban kerja pekerja sebesar 21,55 denyut/menitatau sebesar 21,69% ; (d) menurunkan risiko cedera di tempat kerja sebesar 10,65% ; (e)meningkatkan produktivitas pekerja sebesar 59,49% ; dan (f) meningkatkan pendapatanpekerja sebesar 23,81% dan meningkatkan pendapatan perusahaan sebesar 76,19%.

Abstract

The study was conducted at the edamame plantation area of PT. Mitra Tani 27 Jember with the size of 31.6 m x 29.8 m. The sampling of imature B. tabaci was done by collecting the samples of leaves from the five plots of planting. The adult samples were taken by setting some yellow traps with the size of 20 x 30 cm. The results showed that the populations of B. tabaci changed during the growing season of edamame, the older the plants grow, the greater number of the populations. The highest number of B. tabaci adult population was in the age of 10 weeks after planting, those were 818 B. tabaci. The increase of the B. tabaci population had a significant correlation with the increase of the predators population on edamame. There were seven species of predators founded at the edamame. The highest number of predator founded was Coccinella transversalis and the lowest number of predator was Coccinella septempunctata. Abstract

Salak merupakan komoditas unggulan dari Kabupaten Sleman. Saat ini proses produksipertanian salak masih dilakukan secara tradisional menggunakan sabit yang tidak ergonomissehingga banyak salak yang rusak saat di panen dan tidak jarang petani tertusuk duri pohonsalak karena ujung handle sabit yang terlalu pendek. Selain itu petani juga sering mengalamikeluhan fisik dan kelelahan karena sabit yang digunakan cukup berat dan kurang tajam.Dengan penerapan metode Quality Function Deployment (QFD) berdasarkan voice of custumermelalui pendekatan partisipatori didapatkan sebuah sabit yang dapat mengakomodir keinginanpetani, yaitu sabit yang handlenya panjang dan tidak licin dengan tekstur gelombang, sesuaidengan dimensi tubuh petani dan tajam. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa desain sabit yangdiinginkan petani mampu menurunkan keluhan muskuloskeletal sebesar 34,51%, penurunankelelahan sebesar 13,74% serta peningkatan produktivitas sebesar 43,95%. Kata Kunci : Sabit, QFD, Keluhan Muskuloskeletal, Kelelahan, Produktivitas

Abstract

The application of GSCM (Green Supply Chain Management) practice in the leather tanning industry in Yogyakarta is still relatively difficult because the industry prefers manufacturing systems that can accelerate profit uplift without considering environmental quality. Therefore, this research attempts to measure GSCM performance applied in the leather tanning industry, particularly at PT. Asa Yogyakarta. The method used in this research is Green SCOR (Green Supply Chain Operations Reference) and AHP (Analytical Hierarchy Process). Data collection in this research was by identifying the company's GSCM activities, then compiling performance indicators that refer to the green SCOR method. Weighting performance indicators are conducted to determine the importance of each performance indicator by using the AHP method. The results of this research indicate that the application of GSCM is quite good with the average value of the total GSCM performance >90, despite several improvements that are necessary to enhance the performance.

Abstract

Work fatigue is a problem that most often arises in the workplace and can affect work productivity. That problem also occurs at PT ASA Yogyakarta, many workers who complain of aches in the upper muscles and waist at work. Based on this, the research aims to design an ergonomic work system on the sewing production floor of PT. ASA Yogyakarta. The design of the work system is done to fix the problems done by workers so that it is expected to increase productivity. The method used is Kansei Engineering. The results of this study indicate that the proposed work system design meets the desires of workers with Stuart-Maxwell values testing marginal homogeneity of Z> 0.05. Work system designs made include sewing chairs and tables adjusted in size to worker anthropometry, approved backrests on chairs, lighting lamps replaced with LED lights, plug lamps on sewing machines, and plug bulkheads as sound dampers.
