Abstract

This study analyze the discourse of national identity found on history textbooks for high school in 1975 - 2008 period. The objective was motivated by concerns of the decrease tendency of national identity among Indonesian people, especially young people. Through the study, it will be obtained an understanding of how new order groups, especially modernist, reconstruct national identity on history textbooks used by high school students. The research method used is qualitative, which is focused on content analysis of history textbooks. Analysis will focus on the growth of nationalism (1908 – 1945). The results show that national identity discourse in narration of the growth of nationalism (1908 – 1945) is influenced by modernist views.Keywords: text book, learning history, national identityPenelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis wacana identitas nasional ditemukan di buku pelajaran sejarah untuk SMA di periode 1975 - 2008. Tulisan ini didorong oleh kekhawatiran dari kecenderungan penurunan identitas nasional di kalangan masyarakat Indonesia, terutama kaum muda. Melalui penelitian ini, maka akan diperoleh pemahaman tentang bagaimana kelompok Orde Baru, terutama modernis, merekonstruksi identitas nasional pada buku pelajaran sejarah yang digunakan oleh siswa SMA. Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah kualitatif, yang difokuskan pada analisis isi buku pelajaran sejarah. Analisis akan fokus pada pertumbuhan nasionalisme (1908 - 1945). Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa identitas wacana nasional dalam narasi dari pertumbuhan nasionalisme (1908 - 1945) dipengaruhi oleh pandangan modernis.Kata kunci: buku teks, pembelajaran sejarah, identitas nasional

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the influence of the military in constructing national identity through history lesson textbooks for high schools in the period of New Order government. The move is motivated by the understanding that history lesson textbooks are important media to instill a national identity. The research method used was qualitative through content analysis of history lesson textbooks. The analysis focused on historical narratives about the revolution of independence (1945-1950). The results show that the narratives in textbooks are influenced by the views of the military. It can be seen from the militaristic narratives and heroification of military figures. On the other hand, the roles of political figures are negated and distorted.Keywords: history, history lesson, textbook, military, heroification, distortion, negation  Penelitian ini bermaksud menganalisis pengaruh kelompok militer dalam pembentukan identitas nasional melalui buku teks pelajaran sejarah untuk SMA pada masa pemerintahan Orde Baru. Langkah itu dimotivasi oleh pemahaman bahwa buku teks pelajaran sejarah merupakan media yang penting untuk menanamkan identitas nasional. Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah kualitatif melalui analisis isi buku teks pelajaran sejarah. Analisis dilakukan terhadap narasi sejarah tentang revolusi kemerdekaan (1945-1950). Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa narasi dalam buku teks dipengaruhi oleh pandangan kelompok militer. Hal itu antara lain dapat disimak dari narasi yang bersifat militeristik dan pemahlawanan (heroifikasi) tokoh-tokoh militer. Di lain pihak, peran tokoh-tokoh politik dinegasikan dan ditenggelamkan. Abstract

This article compares historiography of education in United States, Australia, and Indonesia. It aims to understand similarities and differences text book of history learning in high school in three countries. The comparative study focuses on two aspects in historiography of education, i.e. approach and discourse. The result of study shows that in three country use the narrative approach. In Indonesia, beside narrative, the writers of history text book also used structural approach and apply theories, concepts, and generalization from social sciences and humanities. In aspect of discourse, the historiography of education in United States and Australia placed their peoples as subject and main actor in history. In other side, historiography of education in Indonesia placed their peoples as object in any historical act had been done by foreigner. Artikel ini bermaksud membandingkan historiografi pendidikan di Amerika Serikat, Australia dan Indonesia. Tujuannya adalah untuk memahami persamaan dan perbedaan buku teks pelajaran sejarah yang digunakan untuk siswa SMA di ketiga negara. Kajian komparatif difokuskan pada dua aspek utama dari historiografi pendidikan, yaitu pendekatan dan wacana. Hasil kajian menunjukkan bahwa historiografi pendidikan di ketiga negara menggunakan pendekatan naratif. Di Indonesia, selain naratif, penulis buku teks pelajaran sejarah juga menerapkan pendekatan struktural dengan menggunakan teori, konsep, generalisasi dari ilmu sosial dan humaniora. Dari perspektif wacana, historiografi pendidikan di Amerika Serikat dan Australia menempatkan masyarakatnya sebagai subjek atau pemeran utama dalam sejarah. Di pihak lain, historiografi pendidik-an di Indonesia menempatkan masyarakatnya sebagai objek dari berbagai tindakan historis yang dilakukan bangsa asing.

Abstract

This study aims to explore the root of Pancasila as national ideology of Indonesia. Two research questions arised: 1) what kind of cultural root of Pancasila in the life of Indonesian people; 2) what kind of processes of Indonesian leaders in formulating Pancasila. Method used was documentary study, both primary and secondary documents. The results show that many parts of Pancasila have to be culture of Indonesian. On the other hand, reconstruction of formulating Pancasila has to be deviated by political power of interest group. Nugroho Notosusanto as the New Order historian wanted to de-Soekarno-ization through heroificated Muhammad Yamin as Pancasila discoverer.

Abstract

This research is motivated by the situation during the Covid-19 period which affects all sectors of life, including in the world of education. Teachers and students are required to be literate towards technology and literacy in learning to anticipate the spread of false information or hoaxes. The methodology used in this research is qualitative with descriptive analysis and data collection techniques in the form of a literature study. The findings of this study lead to the conclusion that the critical literacy-based historical learning model is important to apply because it is beneficial for teachers and students. The critical literacy learning model is designed with a critical pedagogical approach changing the wording hone critical thinking skills and to equip students with the skills to understand, critique texts critically, analytically, and evaluatively. While the benefits for teachers are an effort to improve the quality and effectiveness of learning by developing 21st-century competence.

Abstract

Facing the era of globalization, the younger generation continues to experience an identity crisis where the younger generation is more familiar with hero figures who do not reflect eastern values, especially those that are typically Indonesian which causes the young generation to lack concern for the nation; and reduced pride in Indonesia's nationalistic identity. Digital books or e-books are a technological development that utilizes computers used to display information in the form of text, images, audio, video and other multimedia in a concise and dynamic form that can be read by computers or other electronic devices. In this case, digital books are an alternative and the right solution for learning the history of heroism in the implementation of independent learning. The purpose of this paper is to determine the role of digital history books in teaching heroic values to students. This research is analyzed using qualitative research methods. The results and discussion are: the role of learning the history of heroes through digital book media that can make it easier to teach heroic values to students. So that students are able to emulate heroic values and actualize and serve as spirit values in the life of society, nation and state.

Abstract

The Covid-19 pandemic has an impact on all aspects of life including education, hence, the government issued a study from home policy. The Ministry of Education and Culture issued a Circular Letter Number 4 of 2020 concerning the Implementation of the Education Policy for the Emergency Period of the Spread of Covid-19 conveyed that the learning process takes place remotely or learn from home. This policy was issued as an effort to reduce the spread of the virus. This is a challenge and opportunity for the world of education nowadays. Distance learning is carried out online by utilizing technology, information, and communication. The implementation of distance history learning by utilizing technology is very helpful for school on teaching and learning process, but in its progress encountered various obstacles. Facilities and infrastructure that are not adequate, the lack of readiness of teachers and students, as well as the unstable condition of the internet network is a challenge that is often encountered. Therefore, this article seeks to provide an overview of the implementation of distance learning far done during the Covid-19 pandemic. The research was conducted using a descriptive approach qualitative. The object of research was carried out on the history learning process carried out at SMA Negeri 15 Pandeglang which is located at Jalan Raya Carita KM. 05 Labuan, Banjarmasin, Carita, Pandeglang, Banten. Data obtained through primary and secondary sources and researchers as the main instrument. Technique Data collection was done by interview, observation, and document analysis. Researchers use techniques triangulation of sources and methods and analyzed with an interactive model as a data analysis technique. Data obtained through interviews, observation, and document analysis.
