<![CDATA[Abstrak Keterampilan menulis merupakan salah satu dari keempat keterampilan yang harus dikuasai oleh siswa sekolah dasar. Keterampilan menulis sangat sulit untuk dikembangkan jika tidak dilatihkan setiap waktu oleh guru. Hal ini sesuai dengan hasil observasi yang dilakukan oleh peneliti diperoleh dari 20 siswa, hanya 35% yang dapat melakukan atau mendapat nilai diatas KKB yang telah ditetapkan oleh sekolah. Penyebab salah satunya model yang digunakan oleh guru dalam melakukan pembelajaran di kelas yakni hanya menggunakan buku siswa dan siswa diminta kerja mandiri, sehingga keterampilan menulis siswa tidak berkembang dengan baik dan siswa merasa bosan. Oleh sebab itu, peneliti mencoba memberikan solusi dengan menerapkan model pembalajaraan langsung sebagai upaya untuk melatihkan keterampilan menulis deskripsi bagi siswa kelas I SDN Modopuro 1 Kabupaten Mojokerto. Jenis penelitian yang peneliti gunakan yakni penelitian tindakan kelas dengan 2 siklus, dengan tahapan setiap siklusnya ada tiga yaitu plan, action and observation, dan reflection. Data dikumpulkan dengan metode observasi dan tes sedangkan instrumen yang digunakan lembar aktivitas guru dan siswa, dan lembar tes hasil belajar siswa. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa penerapan model pengajaran langsung dapat meningkatkan keterampilan siswa berkaitan dengan menulis deskripsi sederhana. Hal ini terbukti dengan peningkatan dari setiap siklusnya sebesar 32% dari siklus I ke siklus II dan memenuhi indikator penelitian yang ditetapkan oleh peneliti. Selain itu kendala-kendala yang muncul pada siklus I dapat diatasi dengan baik pada siklus II. Untuk guru yang mengajarkan materi berkaitan dengan penguasaan tentang suatu keterampilan atau keahlian peneliti sarankan untuk menggunakan model pengajaran langsung. Writing skills are very difficult to develop if not trained every time by the teacher. This is in accordance with the results of observations made by researchers obtained from 20 students, only 35% who can do or get a value above the KKB that has been established by the school. The cause of one of the models used by the teacher in learning in the classroom that is only using the book students and students are asked to work independently, so the writing skills of students are not well developed and students feel bored. Therefore, researchers try to provide solutions by applying direct pemalajaraan model as an effort to trill the skills of writing a description for students class I SDN Modopuro 1 Mojokerto regency. The type of research that researchers use classroom action research with 2 cycles, with the stages of each cycle there are three namely plan, action and observation, and reflection. Data were collected by observation and test method while instrument used by teacher and student activity sheet, and test sheet of student learning result. The results show that the application of the direct teaching model can improve the students skills related to writing simple descriptions. This is evidenced by the increase of each cycle of 32% from cycle I to cycle II and meet the research indicators set by the researchers. In addition, the constraints that occur in cycle I can be overcome well in cycle II. For teachers who teach materials related to the mastery of a skill or expertise the researcher suggests to use the direct teaching model.
