Abstract

Proses pembelajaran keterampilan berbahasa Inggris umumnya tidak terintegrasi secara tepat. Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk mengeksplorasi proses belajar mengajar Bahasa Inggris yang sukses dengan metode Structural, Analytic and Syntactic Process (SAS) dalam pendekatan Contextual Teaching Learning (CTL) di SDN 10 Cibubur Jakarta Timur. Proses structural adalah membaca kalimat dengan bantuan gambar, kemudian, kalimat-kalimat itu dipisahkan menjadi kata-kata dan juga suku kata sebagai bagian dari Analytic. Syntactic Process adalah untuk menggabungkan suku kata menjadi kata-kata dan kalimat. Selanjutnya, CTL adalah pendekatan pembelajaran yang mencakup beberapa tahap proses yang dimulai dengan pengaktifan pengetahuan yang sudah dikuasai, pembelajaran dalam rangka memperoleh dan mengembangkan pengetahuan baru, Pemahaman pengetahuan yang tidak hanya menghafalnya tetapi dipahami dan diyakini, menerapkan atau mempraktikkan pengetahuan untuk mengetahui perubahan perilaku sebagai pengalaman perilaku dan melakukan refleksi pengetahuan. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode etnografi terhadap siswa kelas II Sekolah Dasar Negeri 10 Cibubur Jakarta Timur. Strategi penyelidikan penelitian melibatkan domain, taksonomi, komponen dan budaya.Hasil dari penelitian adalah pertama, guru sebagai konsep tor mampu lebih kreatif untuk mentransfer materi topik pelajaran menggunakan beragam peralatan mengajar untuk membuat siswa tertarik dan termotivasi untuk mengekspresikan apa yang ada dalam pikiran mereka seperti dalam target bahasa. Kedua, Kurikulum dikembangkan berdasarkan kebutuhan siswa yang kontekstual dari beberapa sumber buku, kartu bergambar dan ensiklopedia. Ketiga, proses belajar mengajar tidak hanya dilakukan di kelas tetapi di ruang lain seperti perpustakaan, laboratorium bahasa, akses multimedia bahkan di kantin untuk mendukung kontekstual topik materi pelajaran. Abstract

The community partnership program was administered in the form of online assistance for English learning of the grade X of senior high school students. The partner was an orphanage belonging to the local government in DKI Jakarta Province. The objective of the assistance program was to motivate the English learning and find the solution for their problem in understanding English at school. Fourteen boys participated in this program. One meeting was held in the orphanage with the person in charge and four asynchronous meetings with the participants were conducted in three months. In practice, most of the students showed their motivation in terms of involving the English discussion and completing the tasks as well. Unfortunately, the signal of internet connection did not support the online learning and some of the students were in quarantine due to coronavirus infection. In conclusion, they were not ready to study online as several obstacles arose such as the weak internet signal and their absences. Therefore, they need to study English in a room with a teacher where all of them can communicate with each other in a friendly atmosphere. By doing so, they are possible to improve their English mastery.

Abstract

ABSTRACT Research topics that discussed speech delay at the age of elementary school children were not widely carried out. However, research reports on similar topics for early childhood could be found easily. Therefore, the authors focused on describing the steps taken by teachers to deal with the children with speech delay, ranging from language problems, intervention programs, and academic development in schools to socio-emotional development. A qualitative approach with case study methods through interviews with informants and document studies was used in this study. Data collection was collected based on the interview guide developed by Fitriyani and Taseman. The results show that the way of the teachers deal with the children who have speech delays by (1) paying attention to language development by clarifying lip movements and hand signals when speaking, as has been done by speech therapy and conducting personal communication and interaction, (2) creating an open relationship between teachers, parents and psychiatrists to provide appropriate treatment (3) providing additional equal learning assistance outside class hours and applying lower standards of academic progress, (4) collaborating with parents and friends to reduce negative behavior. The attitude of teachers who are patient and nurturing to deal with ABK with speech delays in class is very necessary so that ABK does not drop out of school.Keywords: speech delay, school children, strategy

Abstract

The purpose of this study was to examine the philosophical study contained in the development of reading teaching materials based on cultural wisdom of Betawi fairy tales for grade X science students at SMAN 107 Jakarta. This research was  qualitative research with a descriptive method. Data collection techniques were carried out through library research on references related to the topics discussed namely teaching materials, readings, and Betawi fairy tales. The results of this research regarding the development of reading teaching materials based on cultural wisdom of Betawi fairy tales then were analyzed using three philosophical studies namely Ontology, Epistemology and Axiology. The Ontology study was employed to examine the development of reading teaching materials with cultural wisdom of Betawi tales. Next, Epistemology was formulated to design and make prototypes of the development of teaching materials so that they can be evaluated and get feedback from the parties involved. Subsequently, the axiology which focused on value of educational technology was intended to intrigue and promote a sense of humanity among students through the depiction of the characters told in the fairy tale.
