Abstract

Oil palm plantations (Elaeis guineensis Jacq.) is an important commodity in Indonesia which is constantly increasing both in land area and its production. The increase in land requires a qualified oil palm seedings. One of the appropriate measures to obtain quality seed is by giving organic fertilizer, such as Trichocompost tofu dregs. The research aimed to determine the effect of several doses of Trichocompost tofu dregs and to obtain the best dose for the growth of oil palm in main nursery. The research was conducted at the experimental farm, Technical Implementation Unit, Faculty of Agriculture, University of Riau. The research started from April to August 2015. The research was conducted experimentally by using completely randomized design (CRD) which consist of 5 treatment and 4 replication then obtained 20 experiment units. Each of the experiment unit consisted of 2 seeds, so it obtain 40 seeds. The treatment tested was giving Trichocompost tofu dregs dose 0 g/plant, 75 g/plant, 150 g/plant, 225 g/plant, and 300 g/plant. The data was analyzed statistically and followed by DNMRT further test at 5% level. Parameters measured was increase of high, increase of stump diameter, increase of midrib number, root volume, and dry wight. The result showed that giving Trichocompost tofu dregs dose 225 g/plant give the best effect on the growth of oil palm in main nursery. Keywords : Oil palm, main nursery, Trichocompost tofu dregs.

Abstract

The study aimed to examine the effect of formulations Bacillus sp. and to get the best formulations on the growth of rice (Oryza sativa L.). The research was conducted in Quarantine Laboratory in Pekanbaru and at Greenhouse, technical implementation unit of agriculture faculty of Riau University, in March until to August 2013. The methods of research is experimentally with using completely randomized design (CRD) with 5 treatments and 4 replications. The data were analyzed using analysis of variance and followed by Duncan's New Multiple Range Test at level 5%. The parameters measured were plant height, number of total tillers, number of productive tillers, panicle length, weight of 100 grains, percentage of grain pithy, weight of dry grain of each plant and dry weight of plant. The results of the research showing that the treatment of formulations Bacillus sp. has non significant effect on the growth of plant height, number of total tillers, number of productive tillers, panicle length, weight of 100 grains, percentage of grain pithy, dry weight of grain of each plant and dry weight of plant. Formulations of Bacillus sp. with waste oil palm is the best formulation because it can stimulate the growth of panicle length, increasing the weight of 100 grains, percentage of grain pithy, dry weight of grain in each plant and dry weight of plant. Abstract

The purpose of this research is to determine the effect of multiple doses Tricho-hyacinth and get the best doses for the growth and production of chili (Capsicum annuum L.) on peat medium and to see the relationship between variables. This research was conducted at the experimental (House Kassa) Faculty of Agriculture, University of Riau Kelurahan Simpang Baru Km 12.5 Kecamatan Tampan Pekanbaru. This research was conducted from January to Mai 2014. This research was done experimentally with completely randomized design (CRD), which consists of 5 treatments and 4 replications, so that acquired 20 units of the experiment, each experimental unit consisted of two samples plant, so there were 40 samples plant. The treatment were Tricho-hyacinth dosis, K0: 0 g/polybag (0 ton/ha), KI: 80 g/polybag (2675.5 kg/ha), K2: 160 g/polybag (5351.2 kg/ha) , K3: 240 g/polybag (8026.8 kg/ha), K4: 320 g/polybag (10.702 kg/ha). The results obtained by analysis of variance followed by honesly test difference significant at the 5% level. To see the relationship between variables test. The parameters observed were plant height, height of dichotomous, stem diameter, crown width, flowering age, harvesting age, length of fruit and diameter, weight per fruit and fruit weight per plant. The giving of Tricho-hyacinth with various doses giving real effect to the crown width, fruit length and diameter chilies. The treatment Tricho-hyacinth dose of 320 g/polybag or 10.702 kg/ha gives the highest value of the fruit length and diameter red chilies compared with no treatment.   Keyword : Capsicum annuum L., Tricho-hyacinth and Peat Medium

Abstract

The purpose of research to study determines the effect multiple doses of biofertilizer contain an active Bacillus sp. and obtain the best dose on growth and productivity of paddy (Oryza sativa L). The research was conducted in Pekanbaru Agricultural Quarantine Laboratory and the experimental field of Agriculture faculty, Riau University beginning December 2013 to May 2014. The experiment was designed a completely randomized design (CRD) consisting of 5 treatments and 4 replications. The research treatments are Ph0 (control), Ph1 (15 ml/plant), Ph2 (30 ml/plant), Ph3 (45 ml/plant) and Ph4 (60 ml/plant). The data were analyzed using analysis of variance and followed by Duncan's New Multiple Range Test on level 5%. The result showed that treatments of Biofertilizer contain an active Bacillus sp. has non-significant among plant height, number of total tillers, tiller productive percentage, harvesting, panicle length and number of grains per panicle. But the application of dose 45 ml/plant showed significant on weight of dry grain and weight of 100 grains. Keywords: Bacillus sp. Biofertilizer and SRI Method.

Abstract

Riau has  the peatland appreciable to be used in the development of agriculture, plantation and development of Industrial Plantation Forest (HTI). One of the plants HTI is a widely developed Acacia crassicarpa. Function of Acacia crassicarpa are as raw material then produce organic matter. This study aims to determine the effect of water level and fertilization on populations and species of fungi in peatland  with litter of acacia (Acacia crassicarpa). This research was conducted in the Screen House, Laboratory of Plant Agriculture Faculty, University of Riau and Plant Protection Unit Office of Food Crops and Horticulture Riau Province, from July to November 2013. The research was conducted  experimentally using completely randomized design (CRD) non-factorial with 6 treatments and 3 replications. The data obtained were analyzed statistically using analysis of variance with Duncan's New Multiple Range Test (DNMRT) at 5% level. Parameters observed were total fungi and types of fungi (macroscopic and microscopic observations). The results showed that the water level without fertilization  affect on total fungi tested. The highest of Total fungi achieved in the treatment of water level without fertilization 30 cm. Treatment of water level with or without fertilizer N, P, K does not affect the type of fungi that exist are Trichoderma sp and Mucor sp, except in water level of 60 cm with N, P, K is Penicillium sp. Based on the identification of characteristic morfologis found 3 Acacia crassicarpa types of fungi namely: Trichoderma sp, Mucor sp and     Penicillium sp. Fungi were found in leaf litter  Acacia crassicarpa dominated by Trichoderma sp and Mucor sp on all treatments water levels.   Keywords : : water level, fertilization, litter of acacia and fungi

Abstract

This research aims to know response of interaction between liquid biofertilizer formulatied and NPK manure and also to get the best combination treatment on the growth of caccao seedling in subsoil medium of ultisol. The research has been conducted at Experimental Garden of Agriculture Faculty University of Riau from      April to September 2017. Using completely randomized design, consisted of two  factor with three replication. The first factor was liquid biofertilizier formulated  with three level. and the second factor was NPK manure with four level. Data      were statistically analyzed using analysis of variance and the means were              compared with Duncan's New Multiple Range Test (DNMRT) at level 5%.The      result shows that the interaction between biofertilizier formulated and  NPK         manure increase the growth of caccao seedling in subsoil medium of ultisol. The  combination between biofertilizier of palm oil mill waste water formulating          35 ml/seed and 3,75 g/seed gave the best response in increasing plant height,        number of leaves and root length of caccao seedling. Keywords : cacao, biofertilizier, NPK.

Abstract

The cultivation of red onion in peatlands have several problems that have low pH, highcation exchange capacity, low base saturation and low content of macro and micro nutrients. Efforts to solve the problem on peat soil should be giving rice straw Trichokompos and Potassium fertilizer as it can improve the physical, biological and chemical on peat soil. The purpose of this study was to determine the effect of interaction between rice straw Trichocompost and Potassium, the influence of rice straw Trichocompost factors and the influence of Potassium factors, as well as getting the best combination on the growth and red onion production on peatlands. This research was conducted experimentally, using a randomized block design (RBD) factorial consisting of two factors and three replications, namely: rice straw Trichokompos factor (0, 250, 500, 750 g / plot) and Potassium factor (0, 2.5, 5, 7.5 g KCL / plot). Observational data obtained were analyzed using variance analysis and conducted a further test using Duncan's New Multiple Range Test (DNMRT) at 5% level. The results of the study showed that giving rice straw Trichocompost and potassium fertilizers, indirectly affects growth and onion production. Provision of rice straw Trichocompost 250 g / plot (10 ton / ha) and potassium fertilizers KCl 5 g / plot (200 kg / ha) has the best ability to increase growth and onion production. Keywords: Onion, peat, rice straw Trichocompost, Potassium

Abstract

Palm oil plantations are plantation crops for Indonesia and plays an important role as a mainstay commodity for export or commodities that can increase farmers' income. To produce a good seedlings and the required quality of intensive management during the nursery stage one was fertilization. Fertilization is made to enhance the growth of oil palm seedlings, one of them with biological fertilizer combined with inorganic fertilizer. This study aims to determine the effect of the interaction of multiple doses of biological fertilizers and NPK fertilizers by administering several different doses on the growth of oil palm seedlings and to get the best interactions in the main nursery. This study was conducted at experimental field of Faculty of Agriculture, University of Riau with Inceptisol soil types. The research was conducted from January 2016 to April 2016. This study was conducted experiments using a completely randomized design (CRD) factorial consisting of two factors: Factor I: bacillusyang biological fertilizer consists of four levels IE K0: Without giving a biological fertilizer bacillus, K1: fertilizer biological active ingredient bacillus sp 10 ml / plant, K2: fertilizer biological active ingredient bacillus sp 20 ml / plant and K3: fertilizer biological active ingredient bacillus sp 30 ml / plant. Factor II: NPK fertilizer, which consists of four levels IE P0: Without giving NPK, P1: Delivery of NPK 5g / plants, P2: Delivery of NPK 10 g / plant and P3: Delivery of NPK 15 g / plant. The parameter those observed were the seedlings height (cm), stump diameter (cm), number of leaves (leaf), plant fresh weight (g), seedling dry weight (g), the volume of the roots of plants (ml) and the shoot to root ratio .The results showed that doses of biofertilizers 30 ml / plant and without NPK fertilizer showed the highest results, namely, plant height, diameter of the stump, leaf number, fresh weight of plants, plant dry weight, root volume and the ratio of canopy roots and several doses of NPK does not give effect to all the parameters of observation.

Abstract

The research aims to  isolate and to study the antagonicity of endophytic bacteria from rubber plant to Rigidoporus microporus Cif. and to identify the higher antagonicity isolates. The research has been conducted at Plant Pathology Laboratory, Agriculture Faculty, Universty of Riau from April until June 2017. The research used explorational method (isolation and purification of the bacteria from rubber plant), experimental method (antagonicity test of bacteria endophytic from rubber plant to Rigidoporus microporus) and observation methods (hypersensitive test and characterization of five high antagonicity isolates to Rigidoporus microporus). Data collected from step 1,3 and 4 were analyzed descriptively. Step 2 used analysis of variance. The mean treatments were compared with Duncan’s new multiple range test at 5% level. Result of the research showed that there were 9 different bacterial isolates based on their color and shape of colony. There were four highest antagonicity bacteria, i.e: isolate  rod-2(56,32%), leaf-4 (48,45%), root-3 (46,11%) and leaf-3 (45,50%). The four bacteria are not hypersensitive due to the absence of the necrosis on injected tobacco leaf. The four highest antagonicty bacteria was identified as Bacillus (rod-2), Enterobacter (leaf-4), Aeromonas (root-3) and Listeria (leaf-3). Keywords:Endophytic Bacteria, Rubber Plant, AntagonicityR. mic

Abstract

Chili (Capsicum annum L.) is one of horticultural commodities has significant economic value, however land in Riau that used for this farming have low fertility as peatland. Therefore the use of organic fertilizer that low complete material is indispensable in improving the productivity of chili, one of the organic fertilizer that is maize rubbish Tricho-compost. This research aimed to determine the effect of multiple dosage application maize rubbish Tricho-compost in enhancing the growth and productivity of chili plants on peatsoil medium. The data were analyzed statistically using analysis of variance followed by Duncan’s New Multiple Range Test (DNMRT) at 5% level and regression analysis  Orthogonal. The result showed that differences in the growth and productivity of chili of several dosage of the treatment, that the provision Tricho-compost with a dosage 15-20 ton ha-1 was found to give highest circle stem, fruit weight per plant and stimulated harvesting time. Tricho-compost with a dosage 20-30 ton ha-1 was found give highest plant height, volume of root, fruit length and stimulated flowering time. Keyword : Chili, corn waste Tricho-compost, peatsoil
