Abstract

Stunting merupakan kondisi tinggi badan seseorang lebih pendek apabila dibanding dengan tinggi badan orang lain seusianya. Salah satu faktor yang dapat berpengaruh terhadap stunting adalah pengetahuan ibu mengenai kesehatan dan gizi. Pengetahuan ibu terhadap gizi akan menentukan kualitas asupan makanan anak yang dapat memengaruhi pertumbuhan dan perkembangannya. Penelitian ini bertujuan mengetahui hubungan tingkat pengetahuan ibu tentang asupan gizi dengan derajat stunting pada balita di Kecamatan Cihideung Kota Tasikmalaya. Metode penelitian ini berupa analitik dengan pendekatan cross-sectional study kuantitatif. Penelitian ini dilaksanakan di Posyandu wilayah Puskesmas Cihideung Kota Tasikmalaya dan home visit pada bulan Agustus–September 2019. Sampel pada penelitian ini, yaitu 85 ibu yang memiliki anak stunting. Sampel dipilih menggunakan teknik purposive sampling. Pengumpulan data dilakukan menggunakan kuesioner dan dianalisis menggunakan uji chi-square pada tingkat kepercayaan 95%. Hasil penelitian ini adalah ibu dengan tingkat pengetahuan baik memiliki anak berstatus pendek sebesar 49%, dan sebanyak 34,1% anak berstatus sangat pendek. Berdasar atas hasil perhitungan chi-square menunjukkan nilai p=0,075. Simpulan penelitian, tidak terdapat hubungan antara tingkat pengetahuan ibu tentang asupan gizi dan derajat stunting pada balita. MOTHER'S LEVEL OF KNOWLEDGE ABOUT NUTRITIONAL INTAKE IS NOT RELATED WITH DEGREE OF STUNTING IN TODDLERSStunting is a condition where the person’s height is shorter compared to his or her peers’ height at the same age. One factor which influences the stunting is maternal knowledge about health and nutrition. Maternal knowledge about nutrition will determine the quality of children’s food intake, which in turn affects growth and development. This study aimed to find out the correlation between maternal knowledge about nutritional intake and stunting level towards under-five years old children in Cihideung, Tasikmalaya City. The study method was analytic with a quantitative cross-sectional study approach. This research was conducted in Posyandu Cihideung Public Health Centre, Tasikmalaya City, and home visit, in August–September 2019. The research sample was 85 mothers who had stunting children. They were chosen by purposive sampling technique. The questioner was used for collecting the data. Afterward, the data were analyzed by using the chi-square test at a 95% confidence level. The result of the study was, the well knowledgeable mother had 49% of short status children and 34.1% of undersized status children. The chi- square calculation results showed a value of p=0.075. The conclusion of the study, there is not any relationship between these variables, the levels of maternal knowledge about nutrition to stunting level towards under-five years old children.
