Abstract

Abstrak Penelitian berbasis PTK selama 6 bulan ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui tingkat kompetensi siswa, guru dan pegawai di SMPN 2 Mengwi menggunakan hardskill bahasa Inggris sederhana. Kemandirian bilingual dilaksanakan melalui penerapan metode behaviorist, komunikatif dan konstuktivisme disetiap kelas melalui guru bahasa Inggris disekolah itu. Instrumen yang digunakan dalam pengumpulan data melalui tes lisan bahasa Inggris siswa, guru dan para pegawai, kuesioner, chararacter check list dan lembaran pengamatan partisipasi. Keefektifan pendekatan Behaviorist Based Learning Simulation dianalisis pada nilai rata-rata 32 siswa, 15 guru dan 15 pegawai yang dikumpulkan secara acak. Dari beberapa pelatihan dan simulasi lisan, para guru dapat mengungkapkan perintah, salam, larangan dan kalimat sederhana berbahasa Inggris. Kemampuan mereka terukur dalam nilai rata-rata, yaitu pengetahuan 70, keterampilan 79 dan sikap bilingual mereka 42 dengan rata-rata 64 yang dikategorikan kurang. Ini disebabkan mereka memiliki kendala tatabahasa, pengucapan dan kosakata yang terbatas. Kemampuan bilingual bahasa Inggris pegawai masih dikategorikan kurang dengan rincian pengetahuan 57, keterampilan 75 dan sikap 41 dengan rata-rata 57 yang dikategorikan kurang. Sementara siswa menunjukkan peningkatan setiap sesi, yaitu: 73.04 dan 78.01. Nilai rata-rata siklus I mencapai nilai 75.55 yang dapat dikategorikan sedang. Hanya 50 persen dari siswa yang baru mencapai ketuntasan minimal. Setelah dilaksanakan umpan balik terhadap proses pembelajaran, siklus II dilanjutkan dan masing masing sesi mengalami peningkatan, yaitu: 79.13 dan 82.00. Nilai rata-rata dari kedua sesi ini adalah 81.00. Ini berarti kemampuan telah mengalami kemajuan yang pesat dan 80 persen dari siswa telah mencapai ketuntasan minimal, maka penelitian ini mengindikasikan keberhasilan BBLS dalam proses peningkatan kemampuan berbahasa Inggris.    Kata Kunci: hard skill, kemandirian bilingual, behaviorist simulation

Abstract

Penelitan ini merupakanpenelitan kuantiatif ex post facto, dengan populasi yaitu seluruh siswa Kelas Bilngual SMP(SLUB) Saraswati 1 Denpasar dan teknik sampling jenuh. Data diperoleh dengan instrumenkuisioner motivasi belajar, dokumentasi pribadi siswa serta nilai prestasi belajar IPA siswayang diperoleh dari guru IPA dan wali kelas. Instrumen yang digunakan telah diuji validitasProduct Moment Pearson, validitas internal, dan reliabiltas. Teknik analisis data yangdigunakan adalah analisis regresi linier berganda dengan bantuan software SPS 19 forWindows. Adapun hasil dari penelitan ini adalah sebagai berikut. (1) Tidak terdapat pengaruhyang signifikan (p=0,989>0,05) motivasi belajar terhadap prestasi belajar IPA Siswa KelasBilngual SMP (SLUB) Saraswati 1 Denpasar. (2) Terdapat/ada pengaruh yang signifikan(p=0,034<0,05) kelas terhadap prestasi belajar IPA Siswa Kelas Bilngual SMP (SLUB)Saraswati 1 Denpasar. Abstract

Writing is a visual depiction of thoughts, feelings, and ideas using the written language for communication purposes or conveying certain messages. Having the ability to write, of course, allows humans to communicate ideas, appreciation, and experiences to others. Writing skill is possessed through intensive training and guidance which must be trained continuously to gain excellent writing skill. This study explores EFL learners’ writing ability in actualizing their skill in writing a descriptive paragraph. The study revealed that EFL learners’ writing ability is under expected skill. Therefore, this study implies that intensive improvement programs should be conducted by the educational institution to maximize learners’ writing skills

Abstract

The purposes of this study are; (1) to prove whether there is a positive and significant effect of learning motivation on the science learning achievement of bilingual class student SMP (SLUB) Saraswati 1 Denpasar, (2) to prove whether there is positive and significant gender effect on the science learning achievement of bilingual class student SMP (SLUB) Saraswati 1 Denpasar, and (3) to prove whether there is a positive and significant effect of learning motivation and gender together on science learning achievement of bilingual class student SMP (SLUB) Saraswati 1 Denpasar. This is an ex post facto research. The population were all bilingual class students of SMP (SLUB) Saraswati 1 Denpasar. The sample was determined by saturated sampling technique. The data were obtained by questionnaire instrument of learning motivation, documentation of student's personal data and student's learning achievement score from their teachers. Instruments tested by the validity of Product Moment Pearson, internal validity of expert judgement, and reliability with Alpha Cronbach Test. Data of learning motivation, gender and science learning achievement in this research were analyzed by multiple linear regression analysis with SPSS 19 for Windows software. The results of this study are as follows. (1) There is no significant effect (p> 0,05) learning motivation on science learning achievement of bilingual class student SMP (SLUB) Saraswati 1 Denpasar. (2) There is no significant (p> 0,05) gender effect on science learning achievement of bilingual class student SMP (SLUB) Saraswati 1 Denpasar. (3) There is no significant effect (p> 0,05) learning motivation and gender simultaneously on the science learning achievement of bilingual class student SMP (SLUB) Saraswati 1 Denpasar.

Abstract

The study aims at figuring out the correlation between students’ watching English Animation Movie habit with the vocabulary mastery of the eleventh - grade students of SMAN 1 Sukawati in Academic Year 2020/2021. In the present study, the researcher specified the type of movie into animation movie which individual’s drawings, paintings, or illustrations are photographed frame by frame (stop-frame cinematography). The undertaking of the research was mainly based on the preliminary study. The subjects were the eleventh - grade students of SMAN 1 Sukawati in academic year 2020/2021. There were 60 subjects which came from 12 classes. The design was ex-post facto correlational research design. The research was carried out by distributing a questionnaire about students’ habit in watching English animation movies and a vocabulary test through google form. The result showed that there was significant correlation between students’ watching English Animation Movie habit with the vocabulary mastery of the eleventh - grade students of SMAN 1 Sukawati in Academic Year 2020/2021 with the correlation value was 0.719 that belonged to high correlation scale (0.600-0.800).  In short, the study showed higher score that the students got in the questionnaire the higher score of vocabulary test that achieved.

Abstract

The scaffolding concept is still relevant for the current context: where the teaching and learning process is done online or hybrid. Its concept brings students to be the centre of learning and autonomous for their learning. They take the role in their learning after having been treated procedurally with scaffolding. Looking at the first implementation of it, the treatment gave positives impacts on the students learning in literacy. They were gradually and temporarily being faded from the teacher’s guidance and they become self-directed. Having a teacher’s absence physically, being autonomous and self-directed are potentially got from scaffolding. As aforementioned, this literature review describes its notion and kinds that are applicable to teaching literacy.

Abstract

The implementation of the Community Service Program (PkM) at SD Saraswati 4 Denpasar in Renon Village which involved 20 teachers from class I to class VI at SD Saraswati 4 Denpasar aims to improve the quality of education in terms of optimizing online learning during the Covid 19 pandemic. All of these activities has implemented through training and simulations, methods in the form of training and assistance on the use of media in the distance learning process / in the network (online). After carrying out the training, an online media application simulation assistance was carried out in learning practice. The results of this activity indicate that partner teachers have been able to use online media in distance learning. These teachers have been able to apply online learning media such as Whatsapp (WA), Google Classroom, Google Meet, and Zoom. The teacher showed an enthusiastic attitude in receiving the material in this program. This can be observed through several indicators such as; the level of attendance during the activity, enthusiasm in participating in learning, attitude in practicing, asking questions related to the material that has been submitted and responding to questions asked properly. The results of the learning evaluation show that partner teachers who previously could not use online media in learning have been able to apply online learning media such as Whatsapp (WA), Google Classroom, Google Meet, and Zoom. Abstract

This research used ex-post facto research with correlational design, which was aimed to figure out whether there is a significant correlation between motivation and reading comprehension of the ninth-grade students of SMPN 2 Mengwi in the academic year 2020/2021. The sample of this study was 60 students taken from the ninth-grade students of SMPN 2 Mengwi that were chosen by random sampling method with a lottery system. The data were collected through administering the researchinstruments which were in the form of a structured questionnaire and narrative text in the form of short answer text. In analyzingthe data, the questionnaires were assessed by Likert’s scale rating, and short answer text was measured by using a scoring rubricadopted from Brown 2004. The collected data were analyzed by using SPSS 22 with means of Pearson Product Moment Correlation Test and T-test. The result of the data showed that the significant value of Pearson product-moment correlation was 0.000 and there was clearly revealed the alternative hypothesis was accepted. In other words, the research finding confirmed that there was a significant correlation between motivation and reading comprehension of the ninth-grade students of SMPN 2 Mengwiin the academic year 2020/2021.

Abstract

The present study dealt with the correlation between vocabulary mastery and speaking skill of the eighth-grade students of SMP Pancasila Canggu in academic year 2021/2022. The samples were chosen by random sampling method with lottery system as many 38 students. The researchers used two tests to get the data vocabulary mastery and speaking skill, such as: fill in the blank items for the vocabulary mastery and video tell their experience for the speaking skill. The obtained data were analyzed by using Pearson Product Moment using SPSS 25.0 version windows. Based on the data analysis it showed that there is a high and significant correlation between vocabulary mastery and speaking skill of the eighth-grade students at SMP Pancasila Canggu in academic year 2021/2022. Therefore, it answered the research question that there is a significant correlation between vocabulary mastery and speaking skill.
