Abstract

The local wisdom is a knowledge obtained in hereditary that becomes a custom and based on the values and based on the values and norms of society. As the To`Balaesan ethnic or the original ethnic in Rano village inhibiting Tanjung Balaesang cluster lies on viscous culture covering language, religion system, and a little different physics from the other society in the area of Balaesang Tanjung sub district. The method employed was explorative descriptive with a qualitative approach through the exploration of key informants information. Thus it can describe a certain situation or a group of human systematically, factually, and accurately based on the fact in the field. The data were collected through observation and interview with a good structured guidance or free interview. The population was the Rano people. The selection of the informants was by using snow-ball sampling. The result indicates that Rano people still uphold their tradition they know from the past, seen from the land selection process, land opening and the farming process. All of it accumulated in a topomaradia tradition institution which contains a set of rules and inferences as the attitude manager norms and behavior of the ethnic society to`balaesang in Rano village. Abstract

The size of mangrove forest located in Bumi Raya Sub District, Morowali, Central Sulawesi is estimated to be about 9.8 ha. Research aimed at observing the mangrove vegetation zonation along with environmental condition parameter was conducted and taking place in Umbele Village. Primary and secondary data were collected. Primary data covered aspects such as species and number of individuals along with various parameters including salinity, acidity, soil textures, dissolved sulphate, tides on every observation station. Secondary data were collected from literature studies both in university and public libraries. The results of the study shows that there are about 17 mangrove species within 10 families located as rear zone. Parameter found to influence the existence of the mangrove are muddy and sandy soil as well as debrised muddy soil with pH ranging from 36 to 7.8. Meanwhile, salinity was recorded to range from 1.1 to 2.90 with tidal fluctuation from (0-13) cm to (13-220) cm. Key Words : Zonation, Vegetation, Mangrove.

Abstract

Society wisdom or local wisdom is human positive behavior in interacting with nature and environment that derives from religion, customs, ancestor advice or local culture value. It occurs naturally in a community to adapt with environment. This behavior developed to a culture in a region and passed on from generation to generation. In general, local culture is defined as culture that developed in a region and the elements are culture of tribes that live in that region. Lauje tribe that live in Bambasiang Village is a community with a great culture identity which covered language and religion system that little different with tribes that live in other district. Objective of the research is to find out local wisdom of Lauje tribe in forest management. Method of the research is descriptive with using snowball sampling method. Based on the research result, the local wisdom of lauje tribe in forest management is still implementing their ancestor faith that already hereditary carried out. Although they manage the forest, they still keep the balance of nature for sake of their survival in the future.Key words: society, forest, Bambasiang Village

Abstract

Agroforestry practices in fact has long been practiced by rural communities (local traditional agroforestry), and even in some places the implementation of agroforestry has an important role in the socio-cultural aspects of the local community. Study of the characteristics of land use (systems and pattern of agroforestry-based land use), as well as the orientation of land use is still rarely studied. Even it is not a study based agroforestry landscape, but the micro-scale (plot-based interaction). So there is no information that can explain characteristis of agroforestry landscape of the community. It is important to look at the specific characteristics of agroforestry-based land use that is owned by the community. The purpose of this study was to determine the pattern of agroforestry on community land in the Simoro village and assess the orientation of agroforestry land use community-owned Simoro village. Analysis of data used in this research are descriptive analysis and analysis of the NEP (New Environmental Paradigm). Research resulted, the pattern of agroforestry and land use at Simoro village include simple and complex agroforestry system, where the farmers combine seasonal crops and tree crops, whereas in complex agroforestry system using mix cropping pattern at home garden. The results of analysis of the NEP (New Erwironmental Paradigm) shows the value of egoistic respondents fall into the low category. This indicates that respondents, in general, have a desire to clear land to not only put the interests of the individual and the consideration of the benefit and loss agroforestry practic, but also considering into account the conservation of nature, while the value of altruristic fall in the low category. This indicates that respondents generally lack aware of the public community interest and the value of biospheric of respondents were also may be categorized of high. This indicates that the community of  Simoro village generally have the awareness of the importance of environmental aspects, not only for their personal important, but also for the other village community.Keywords: Agroforestry, land uses, biospheric, alturistic, egoistic.

Abstract

Until now, timber is still the most important fuel especially for rural communities. Firewood for nearby forest communities is an indispensable source of energy to meet daily kitchen needs, and is an additional source of income to meet their daily needs. The increasing consumption of firewood is a serious problem. If the problem is not sought the appropriate way out, it will interfere with the existence of the forest. Therefore, it is necessary to study the needs of firewood in Salena hamlet for the benefit of forest development. This study aims to determine the level of use of firewood In Salena Hamlet Village Buluri District Ulujadi Palu City. This research was conducted from April to May 2017, located at Dusun Salena Buluri Urban District Ulujadi Palu City. The method used in this research is survey and interview to the respondents as much as 26 families or 15% of 176 families. Based on the observation of firewood which dikosumsi by 176 KK is equal to 1244,32 kg / kk per day or 2.07 m3. The average firewood rate per month for each respondent is 37329.6 kg / kk or 62.19 m3, and the average annual firewood rate for each respondent is 447955.2 kg / kk or 746.34 m3. The wood species used are acacia wood (Acacia denticulosa), marantaipa wood (Mangifera foetida L) and Lamtoro wood (Leucaena leucocephala).Keywords: Usage Analysis, firewood, village Salena

Abstract

Forestry extension workers play a role in changing people's attitudes and behavior so that the community can support forestry development in Indonesia. Tanambulava district, Sigi Regency, the forestry extension workers numbered one person, in contrast to the agriculture extension workers in each village, there were each extension workers. The purpose of this study was to determine the extent of community knowledge about forestry extension activities and how the community's response to forestry extension activities in Tanambulava District, Sigi Regency, Central Sulawesi. This research was conducted in the village of Sibalaya Utara, Tanambulava District, Sigi Regency for 3 months from October to December 2016 through data collection techniques through interviews using a questionnaire with respondents taken based on the consideration that the respondents were village officials (2 people), community leaders (2 people) , traditional leaders (2 people), youth leaders (2 people), General Society (6 people), and farmer groups (26 people) so that the research sample is 40 people. Data analysis using descriptive methods. The results showed the level of knowledge of the community with the activities in the North Sibalaya Village was at the level of lack of knowledge. After explaining the purpose of extension workers for the welfare of the community, they are very responsive and are in the high level category. While the analysis of the data by scaling showed that the community response to forestry extension workers activities was relatively high.

Abstract

Forest is one of the natural resources that has high economic, ecological and social value. The condition and condition of forests in Parigimpu'u Village in general is quite good at this time because the management and use of forest areas carried out by the village community in accordance with existing provisions This means that the use of forest areas carried out by local communities is the use of forest areas that are environmentally based, the form of utilization of forest areas carried out by local communities is by making community plantations. This research was conducted in May to June 2015. The research location was carried out in Parigimpu Village, Parigi District, West Parigi Mautong District, Central Sulawesi Province. This study aims to determine the characteristics and utilization of the Parigimpu Village community forest area. The attitude of the people of Parigimpu'u to obtain the benefits of the forest for their welfare in making smallholder plantations and based on data obtained in the field from 31 respondents in the village of Parigimpu'u, has various characteristics. From the results of the study the characteristics of the Parigimpu'u community do not have land until more than 3 hectares, most respondents have an average land of 1.5-2 hectares, the land is in the form of farm land and some are not yet cultivated and the use of Forest Areas in Parigimpu'u in use by the Community in the Village, as efforts to rehabilitate and conserve land, as well as diversification of agricultural products needed by the community, increasing community income that can be obtained from forests such as the supply of wood as building material, industrial raw materials, supply of fuel wood, improvement efforts environment that can benefit the surrounding community.Keyword: Characteristics, Utilization, Forest Area

Abstract

Change of function of forest land is a change in the function of the main forest into non-forest areas such as, settlements, agricultural areas and plantations. The community has the incentive to perform the function of forest land. The purpose of this study is to determine the community's motivation to transfer the function of forest land to agricultural land in the village. Bakubakulu Palolo Subdistrict, Sigi Regency. This research was carried out for three months, from May to June 2017. The research location was in Bakubakulu Village Palolo Subdistrict, Sigi Regency, Central Sulawesi. Data collection techniques in this study were carried out by using information retrieval through surveys (observation directly) to the object to be examined, including observations of actual conditions in the field consisting of observations of the conversion of the function of forest land into agricultural land by the community in Bakubakulu Village, Palolo District, Sigi Regency. The method used is descriptive in 1-3-5. The results of the study indicate the level of community motivation based on material needs is very high. The community conducts the conversion of the function of forest land into agricultural land in order to have productive land for agricultural / gardening activities in order to get good harvests. to meet daily needs.Keywords: Motivation, Forest Land Function Expert, Community

Abstract

Forest is an area that is overgrown with thick trees and other plants. We can find forests in both the tropics and cold climates, in the lowlands and in the mountains, on small islands and on large continents, forests are a collection of plants and plants, especially trees or other woody plants, and these cannot be separated by HHBK, this made research interesting about the community's response to the utilization of the Candlenut Non-Timber Forest Products (Aleurites moluccana Willd). The purpose of this study was to determine how the community's response to the utilization of HHBK candlenut in Mire Village, Ulubongka District, Tojo Una-Una Regency, Central Sulawesi.This research was conducted in 2 months, from November to December 2019, and respondents were determined by purposive sampling. With data analysis using descriptive analysis methods, so that results are more detailed, From the characteristics of the respondents obtained through data analysis with descriptive material 1 (disagree) 3 (less agree) 5 (agree) The results showed that the response of the people of Mire Village to the use of hazelnut NTFP to bring prosperity to the community they responded was in the high level category or agreed, while the analysis of the data with scaling showed the community response to the utilization of hazelnut IPH by a percentage (200) High, why is it high because the level of community understanding of the hazelnut NTFPs is very good and this is also the result of Likert scale calculations.Keywords: Forest, Candlenut, Analysis.
