Abstract

The need for electrical energy for lighting for the community is an important thing. However, people tend to pay less attention to the savings in the use of electrical energy for lighting in the house, both at night and during the day. When leaving the house empty, in general, the porch light is on all day and night. This is a common thing for the community, but they unconsciously waste the use of electrical energy which will cause an increase in electricity bill bills. To increase knowledge for the community about the importance of saving electrical energy, in this community service counselling will be carried out on saving electrical energy by using automatic, energy-saving lamps. Counselling is done by visiting people's homes to explain the benefits of saving electricity for them. Then distribute and install energy-saving lamps with light sensors. With this service, the community has been able to understand well the benefits of saving electrical energy for them. The use of energy-saving lamps with light sensors can help people to save on the use of electrical energy. With this counselling, the community can save electrical energy for lighting, where the porch light will turn on automatically in the afternoon and will turn off automatically in the morning

Abstract

La'bo 'Village is one of the villages in North Toraja Regency. It is located about 8 km from the city of Rantepao. The people live as farmers. In addition, generally every household raises livestock in a pen at the back of the house. Manure from each livestock pen is disposed of freely, causing an unhealthy odor around the house. To solve the pollution problem, a training was conducted for the La'bo 'community to build a biogas installation as a tool to properly process livestock manure and provide added value to the community. To build a biogas installation, training is carried out using the on-job training method. The community is invited to work directly to build the installation together so that they can receive the knowledge and skills from this waste treatment technology. The training to build a biogas installation was carried out in collaboration with the Marante Tampang Allo Farmer Group and the Biang Farmer Group. From this training, the community has gained knowledge and skills to build and manage livestock waste into biogas. The result of this collaboration with farmer groups has succeeded in building 2 units of biogas installations with a capacity of 4 m3 of the fixed dome type. With the construction of the biogas installation, the air pollution around the house becomes healthier and the demand for LPG for each household has been replaced by biogas produced from the biogas installation

Abstract

Savings in electricity consumption at this time is something to note because the growth of electricity load in urban areas is very fast while the growth of power plants tends to be slow. One way to save PLN electricity consumption is to utilize solar panels as an alternative energy source, where some or all of the electricity load can be transferred to solar power plants (PLTS) on the grid. The research was conducted by load design methods and simulations of the loading of electrical power. The power generated by PLTS  on grid is calculated based on the level of solar radiation, ranging from 06:30 to 18:00. Based on the results of the analysis obtained that by using PLTS  on grid as an alternative energy source in residential homes, it can provide savings in PLN electricity consumption of 34.78% to 89.54%. These results show that the use of PLTS  on grid is very suitable for its use in urban areas in order to support electricity saving policies

Abstract

Without electrical energy, electronic equipment cannot be used as a work aid to meet human needs. The GPDI Church of the Bukit Hermon To' Limbong Congregation, is one of the houses of worship whose location is not yet reached by the PLN electricity network. To get electrical energy, it still takes a long time because they are waiting for the plan to add electricity to the church site. The church already has several electronic devices such as sound systems and pianos that were donated by the congregation. However, these tools cannot be used because electrical energy is not yet available in the church. To meet the electricity needs in the church, solar cell-based electrical energy is provided. Service activities are carried out using the method of applying solar cell technology by installing solar panels. The function of the solar panel is to convert solar energy into direct current electrical energy which is then converted into alternating current electrical energy. With the installation of a 160 Wp solar panel, the electricity source is already available, in the Bukit Hermon GPDI church so that the electric lighting in the church is lit during the day and at night. Electronic devices that have not been used before, can already be functioned properly when carrying out activities

Abstract

The sensitivity and accuracy of the hall effect current sensor is an important factor in its application considering that electric current is the main parameter in the study of electrical energy engineering, telecommunications and electronics. However, on the other hand, studies related to the sensitivity and accuracy of Hall effect current sensors are still rarely carried out. The method used in this research is an experimental laboratory study using the ACS712 sensor with a variation rating of 5A, 20A and 30A. The results show that the sensitivity is inversely proportional to the ampere rating of the ACS712 sensor where the greater the current rating of the sensor, the lower the sensitivity. While the accuracy is directly proportional to the ampere rating of the ACS712 sensor where the greater the current rating of the sensor, the more accurate the sensor is

Abstract

Makassar is the center of government and business center in the province of South Sulawesi. The people of Makassar has a very high dependence on the use of electrical energy to meet their daily needs, both at home and at offices. The use of electrical energy which is quite high will cause an increase in customer bills every month. Therefore, this problem needs to be reduced by utilizing alternative energy sources. PLTS on grid is one of the solutions to reduce dependence on electrical energy from PLN. This research was carried out using a load simulation method based on the level of solar radiation in Makassar City at an installed power of 4500 VA. By using PLTS on grid the customer has two sources of electrical energy, from solar power and PLN line. The main source of electrical energy during the day is from on grid solar power and at night is from PLN line. If the power from the on grid solar power the day is insufficient to serve the load needs, PLN will automatically responsible for the electric power of the load. The simulation results show that the use of on-grid PLTS saves PLN's electricity consumption by 34.78% to 89.53%. These results illustrate that the potential for using on grid solar panels in the city of Makassar is very large

Abstract

Extension activities were carried out in the Karanganyar Village area, Kec. Mamajang, Makassar. In general, partners have houses that are close to each other or attached to neighbors so that the air circulation in the house is not good and the natural lighting in the house is not optimal. To get optimal lighting during the day, you must use electric lights as a source of lighting. Then to get fresh and comfortable air, partners use air conditioners or fans. With such a situation, partners experience difficulties with the cost of electricity bills which tend to increase every month. The partner's problem is how to reduce the cost of electricity bills which tend to increase every month. To help overcome partner problems, counseling on saving electricity is carried out. The main ingredients of energy-saving counseling are introducing energy-efficient electrical devices, building awareness of the importance of saving energy, and how to calculate the cost of a monthly electricity bill in one household. Based on the results of the implementation and evaluation of energy saving counseling and the results of observations, partners have realized how important it is to save energy. The cost of electricity bills from several partners has decreased compared to the previous period. This counseling has increased partners' knowledge so that they understand more about the positive and negative impacts of regular and disciplined use of electric power in the household
