Abstract

The objective of this research was to study the morphology and physiology of jatropha leaves and its relation to photosynthesis. Research was conducted using Randomized Complete Block Design with single factor, i.e., leaf ages at the canopy with ten replications. The results showed that jatropha had phyllotaxy 5/13 with angular divergence 1380 . In early growing leaf enlarged sharply and then constant after 9 week, remaining green for 14 weeks. Chlorophyll a, b, and total achieved maximum at 9 week, i.e., 0.45 g/cm2 , 0.19 g/cm2 , and 0.62 g/cm2 , respectively. Photosynthesic rate was maximum at 6 week, i.e., 8.99 µmol/m2 /s, while number of stomata was maximum at 9 week (289.47 mm2 ). This finding implies that leaf number 11 to 13 or age 6 week after emergence could be used as reference for photosynthetic evaluation.

Abstract

This study aimed to determine the suitability classes of land and improvement efforts in order to develop lowland and upland rice in the Bila Tabang village of Tabang Sub District.  Survey fieldwork was conducted with making mini profile (1.2 x 1.2 x 1 m) for morphological properties of the samples that were carried out at a depth of 0-30 cm and 30-60 cm, while drilling carried around a mini profile with composite method (8 points) for the analysis of the nature of soil physic/chemical.  The data obtained were analyzed using standard criteria of the Soil Research Institute, Centre for Research and Development of Land and Agro-climate, Agricultural Research Agency, the Department of Agriculture in 2003 that use of land quality criteria which include temperature, availability of water, availability of oxygen, rooting media, nutrient retention, sodisitas, erosion and land preparation.  Each area was divided into several quality characteristics of land used as a reference to assess the characteristics of the land so that this land can be determined several factors limiting the growth of rice crops to be developed.  The survey showed that the actual land suitability classes are marginally suitable (S3) for lowland paddy as well as upland rice, but compliance can be improved through efforts to improve by adding the organic matter, fertilizing, liming, drainage, terracing and guludan so that potential land suitability class to be quite suitable (S2).

Abstract

The implementation of sub-district tasks in managing small-scale development, which is the delegation of authority from the Regent of Kutai Kartanegara, has not been running optimally. This study aims to evaluate the authority of the sub-district in implementing small-scale development. The research method is descriptive qualitative by collecting data through semi-structured interviews conducted in 3 sub-districts and using a questionnaire for all locations in 15 sub-districts which are the source of the data. with the determination of informants by purposive sampling. From the results of the study, it has been concluded that the sub-district's authority in managing small-scale development cannot be fully implemented, this is due to the lack of clarity in the provisions regarding the criteria and specifications for an activity in the delegation of authority regulations, the weak coordination link between the sub-districts and the relevant local government agencies in the framework of the integrated planning system, lack of capacity sub-district officials in carrying out their duties, there is no measurable sub-district performance indicators and targets, it is recommended to the Kutai Kartanegara Regency Government to review to make improvements and development of policies regarding the delegation of the Regent's authority to the Camat, especially related to small-scale management policies and adjusting to the prevailing laws and regulations governing regional and sub-district governments.

Abstract

Tanaman anggrek merupakan salah satu tanaman hias yang popular di Indonesia. Permintaan akan bibit anggrek cukup tinggi di Indonesia sehingga penyediaan bibit anggrek unggul secara cepat perlu dilakukan. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendapatkan jenis media paling tepat digunakan untuk aklimatisasi ketiga jenis anggrek agar dapat meningkatkan dan mempercepat pertumbuhannya. Penelitian dilaksanakan di net house Fakultas Pertanian Universitas Kutai Kartanegara pada bulan April sampai Juni 2019. Rancangan yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah rancangan acak kelompok (RAK), dan setiap taraf perlakuan diulang sebanyak 3 kali. Sebagai perlakuan adalah jenis media tanam yang terdiri atas cocopeat, arang, akar pakis, sekam bakar, cocopeat + arang, dan akar pakis + sekam bakar. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa pertambahan tinggi tanaman tertinggi anggrek C. pandurata, C. asperata, dan Oncidium linda isler x Odorais princess yH tween star berturut-turut diperoleh ketika bibit ditanam di media cocopeat + arang (3,30 cm), cocopeat (2,37 cm), serta cocopeat dan akar pakis (2,45 cm). Persentase hidup bibit tanaman anggrek yang ditanam di media cocopeat dan cocopeat + arang sebesar 88,89% jauh lebih tinggi jika dibandingkan dengan keempat media tanam lainnya. Anggrek jenis C. pandurata memiliki persentase hidup tertinggi (72,22%) dibandingkan dengan anggrek C. asperata (55,56%) dan Oncidium linda isler x Odorais princess yH tween star (50,00%). Media tanam cocopeat baik secara tunggal maupun dikombinasikan dengan arang merupakan media aklimatisasi terbaik untuk jenis anggrek C. pandurata, C. asperata, dan Oncidium linda isler x Odorais princess yH tween star.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the effect of kompos apu-apu on the growth and yield of eggplant. This study started from December 2017 to March 2018. Located in the Sumber Sari Village, Loa Kulu District, Kutai Kartanegara Regency. This research is compiled using a Randomized Completely Block Design (RCBD) consisting of four replications and consists of seven levels, that is: k0 : 0 (control), k1 (5 t ha-1), k2 (10 t ha-1), k3 (15 t ha-1), k4 (20 t ha-1), k5 (25 t ha-1), k6 (30 t ha-1). The results showed that compost fertilizer had no significant effect on plant height and plant age when flowering, number of plants, crop weight, and fruit weight per hectare. Treatment k6 (30 t ha-1) gave the highest average yield of 5,63 t ha-1. The treatment of k0 (control) gave the lowest average yield of 2,55 t ha-1).

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengidentifikasi komoditas unggulan sektor pertanian di Kabupaten Kutai Kartanegara. Untuk mencapai tujuan tersebut ada tujuh kriteria yang dijadikan dasar penilaian, yaitu kesesuaian lahan, dominasi pengusahaan, tingkat produktivitas wilayah (nilai relatif produktivitas komoditas), keunggulan komparatif, keunggulan kompetitif, perdagangan komoditas antar wilayah, dan keterkaitan produk ke depan. Penelitian dilaksanakan di 8 kecamatan dan analisis data dilakukan secara deskripsi kuantitatif menggunakan skor 1 sampai 5. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa padi sawah, padi ladang, jagung, ubi kayu, ubi jalar, kacang tanah dan kedelei merupakan komoditas unggulan tanaman pangan, sementara itu komoditas ungggulan sayuran adalah ketimun, kacang panjang, sawi, semangka, kangkung, cabe rawit, bayam, terung dan tomat. Komoditas unggulan buah-buahan adalah rambutan, pisang, durian, nangka, sukun, nenas, papaya, dan mangga, Sementara itu komoditas unggulan perkebunan meliputi karet, kopi, kelapa, kelapa sawit, lada, dan kakao Komoditas unggulan peternakan adalah karbau, ayam buras, itik, sapi, kambing, dan ayam potong. Sedangkan komoditas komoditas unggulan perikanan, yaitu tambak, perikanan laut, kolam, keramba dan perairan umum. Komoditas unggulan tersebut tersebar di 8 kecamatan dan masing-masing kecamatan memiliki tiga komoditas unggulan.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui kandungan pH, C/N rasio, unsur hara makro dan unsur hara mikro Pupuk Organik Cair (POC) asal limbah pasar dengan menggunakan MOL ikan. Metode penelitian dilaksanakan secara deskriptif dengan hanya membandingkan peubah yang diamati antara sistem fermentasi aerob dan anaerob. Peubah yang diamati adalah pH, C/N rasio, N-total, P2O5, K2O, Catotal, Mg, S, Fe, Mn, Co, Cu, B, dan Zn. Hasil Penelitian menunjukkan bahwa pupuk organik cair yang difermentasi aerob memiliki pH (5.14) dan N-Total (0,02 %) lebih tinggi dibandingkan anaerob, sebaliknya sistem fermentasi anaerob memberikan nilai kandungan bahan kimia atau unsur hara yang lebih tinggi dibandingkan kondisi aerob pada peubah C/N rasio (22,14), C/N rasio (4,19%), P2O5 (0,0095%), Ca-Total (86,695 ppm), Mg (520.6 ppm), dan S (700,00 ppm). Sementara itu K2O merupakan unsur hara yang memiliki nilai 0,051% yang sama antara kondisi aerob maupun anaerob.Key word : Mol ikan, aerob, anaerob, POC
