Abstract

Aims of this experiment were to know the effect adding fermented banana corm flour in basal ratio on feed intake, digestibility of dry and organic matter in pigs. There were 12 starter (6 weeks of age) Landrace crossbred pigs with 12-21 kg (CV 25.69%) initial body weight used in the trial. Randomized block design with 4 treatments and 3 blocks was used in the trial. The 4 treatment diets offered were formulated as: R0 (basal feed without fermented banana corm); R1 (feed with 7%fermented banana corm); R2 (feed with 14% fermented banana corm); and R3 (feed with 21% fermented banana corm). Variable studied in the study wereintake and digestibility of both dry matter and organic matter. The result showed that effect of treatment was not affected (P>0,05) on either dry matter or organic matter digestibility.The conclusion is that including 0%-21% into basal feed performed the similar results in both dry matter and organic matter digestibility. ABSTRAK Tujuan penelitian adalah untukmengetahui pengaruh penggunaan tepung bonggol pisang terfermentasi dalam ransum basal terhadap konsumsi dan kecernaan bahan kering dan bahan organik pada babi.Materi yang digunakan adalah 12 ekor anak babi peranakan Landrace fase starter (umur 6 minggu) dengan bobot awal 12-21 kg dan koevisienvariasi 25,69%. Penelitian ini menggunakan RancanganAcak Kelompok (RAK) dengan empat perlakuan dan tiga ulangan.Perlakuan yang diberikan: R0 (tanpa tepung bonggol pisang terfermentasi), R1 (tepung bonggol pisang terfermentasi 7 % dalam ransum basal), R2 (tepung bonggol pisang terfermentasi 14% dalam ransum basal), R3 (tepung bonggol pisang terfermentasi 21% dalam ransum basal). Parameter yang diukur adalah konsumsi dankecernaan bahan kering dan bahanorganik pada babi.Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa perlakuaan tidak berpengaruhnyata (P>0,05) terhadap konsumsi, kecernaan bahan kering dan bahan organik. Bertolak dari hasil tersebut disimpulkan bahwa tingkat penambahan tepung bonggol pisang terfermentasi 0%-21% dalam ransum basal memberikan respon yang relative sama.

Abstract

The research was aim to determine the effect of curcuma meal suplemention treatment in basal diet for weight improvement, diet consumption, crude protein consumption, and diet conversion in pigs. The materials used in the research were 12 - two to three months landrace female piglets with initial weights vary from 8.50 to 15 kilograms and variance coefficient 23.32%. The ransom materials used were corn, rice bran, fish meal, concentrate 157, curcuma meal, moringa meal, mineral 10 and coconut oil. A randomized block designed method was employed in the research with 4 treatments and 3 replicates. The treatments tested were: R0: basal ration without turmeric meal (control), R1: basal ration + 0,25% turmeric meal, R2: basal ration + 0,50% turmeric meal, R3: basal ration + 0,75% turmeric meal. The parameters measured in this research were body weights improvement, diet consumption, crude protein consumption and diet conversion. ANOVA analysis results showed that the treatment effect was not significant (P> 0.05) affecting the increase of body weights, diet consumption, crude protein consumption, and diet conversion. Therefore, it can be concluded that the suplemention of curcuma meal on the level of 0.25% to 0,75% give relatively equal effect on the measured parameters. Tujuan penelitian adalah untuk mengevaluasi pengaruh penambahan tepung kunyit dalam ransum basal terhadap pertambahan bobot badan, konsumsi ransum, konsumsi protein kasar dan konversi ransum ternak babi. Materi yang digunakan adalah 12 ekor ternak babi betina peranakan landrace yang berumur 2–3 bulan dengan berat badan awal 8,5–15 kg (KV=23,32%). Penelitian ini menggunakan Rancangan Acak Kelompok (RAK) dengan empat perlakuan dan tiga ulangan. Perlakuan yang dicobakan adalah : R0: Ransum basal tanpa tepung kunyit (kontrol), R1: Ransum basal + tepung kunyit 0,25%, R2: Ransum basal + tepung kunyit 0,50%, R3: Ransum basal + tepung kunyit 0,75%. Parameter yang diukur adalah pertambahan bobot badan, konsumsi ransum, konsumsi protein kasar dan konversi ransum. Hasil analisis ANOVA menunjukkan bahwa perlakuan berpengaruh tidak nyata (P>0,05) terhadap pertambahan bobot badan, konsumsi ransum, konsumsi protein kasar dan konversi ransum. Bertolak dari hasil tersebut disimpulkan bahwa tingkat penambahan tepung kunyit dengan persentase 0,25–0,75% memberiakan respon yang relatif sama.

Abstract

A study has been conducted in the village of East Baumata, District Taebenu, Kupang, for 8 weeks from the date of 11 February to 7 April 2016. The purpose of this study was to know the effect of adding turmeric powder (Curcuma domestica, Val) in the basal ration to gain linear body size and Income Over Feed Cost in pigs. The material used in this study was 12 landrace famale pigs aged 2 to 3 months with variations in weight from 8,50 - 15.00 kg, and the coefficient of variation of 23,32%. The feed material used was corn, rice bran, 157 concentrates, fish powder, turmeric powder, moringa flour, mineral-10 and coconut oil. The method used in this study was randomized block design (RAK) with 4 treatments and 3 replications. The treatments tested were: R0: basal ration without turmeric powder (control), R1: basal ration + 0,25% turmeric powder, R2: basal ration + 0,50% turmeric powder, R3: basal ration + 0,75% turmeric powder. ANOVA analysis results showed that the treatment effect was not significant (P> 0.05) on the size of the linear body and Income Over Feed Cost crossbreed Landrace pigs. This proves that the addition of turmeric powder at 0,25%, 0,50% and 0,75% in the basal ration showed the same effect to gain linear body size and Income Over Feed Cost. ABSTRAK Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui pengaruh penambahan tepung kunyit (Curcuma domestica, Val) dalam ransum basal terhadap pertambahan ukuran linear tubuh dan Income Over Feed Cost pada babi. Materi yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah 12 ekor ternak babi betina peranakan landrace umur 2 sampai 3 bulan dengan kisaran berat badan 8,50 - 15.00 kg, dan koefisien variasi 23,32%. Bahan pakan yang digunakan adalah jagung, dedak padi, konsentrat 157, tepung ikan, tepung kunyit, tepung kelor, mineral-10 dan minyak kelapa. Metode yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini rancangan acak kelompok (RAK) dengan 4 perlakuan dan 3 ulangan. Perlakuan yang dicobakan adalah : R0: Ransum basal tanpa tepung kunyit (kontrol), R1: Ransum basal + tepung kunyit 0,25%, R2: Ransum basal + tepung kunyit 0,50%, R3: Ransum basal + tepung kunyit 0,75%. Hasil analisis ANOVA menunjukkan bahwa perlakuan berpengaruh tidak nyata (P>0,05) terhadap ukuran linear tubuh dan Income Over Feed Cost ternak babi peranakan Landrace. Hal ini membuktikan bahwa penambahan tepung kunyit pada level 0,25%, 0,50% dan 0,75% dalam ransum basal menunjukkan pengaruh yang sama pada pertambahan ukuran linear tubuh dan Income Over Feed Cost.

Abstract

The study was carried out at UD. Mari Ternak in Desa Noelbaki, Kecamatan Kupang Tengah for eight weeks devided into two periods, namely : two weeks (July 11st – July 23th 2016) for adaptation and 6 weeks (July 24th – September 3rd 2016) for data collection period. The study aimed at evaluating effect of substituting complete feed with pollard on growth of grower Landrace crossbred gilt. Twelve Landrace croosbred gilts with initial body weight 34 – 49.5 kgs (CV = 13.35%) were used in the study. Randomized Block Designs 4 treatments with 3 blocks was applied. The 4 treatment diets offered were: R0 : 100% CP 552; R1 : 95% CP 552 + 5% pollard; R2 : 90% CP 552 + 10% pollard and R3 : 85% CP 552 + 15% pollard. Statistical analysis showed that effect of substituting 10 – 15% CP552 with pollard is significant (P<0.05) on decreasing body height but not significant on (P>0.05) on body weight gain, body length, girth circle and feed intake of the gilts. The conclusion is that using pollard to substitute complete feed “CP 552” performed the similarly effect on growth but dcreased body height of Landrace crossbred gilt. ABSTRAK Penelitian ini telah dilaksanakan di UD. Mari ternak Desa Noelbaki Kecamatan Kupang Tengah Kabupaten Kupang selama 8 (delapan) minggu yang terdiri dari 2 (dua) minggu (11 Juli – 23 Juli 2016) masa penyesuaian dan 6 (enam) minggu (24 Juli – 3 September 2016) masa pelaksanaan/pengambilan data. Tujuan penelitian adalah untuk mengetahui pengaruh pemberian pollard sebagai pengganti pakan komplit terhadap pertumbuhan babi peranakan Landrace fase pertumbuhan. Materi yang digunakan adalah 12 (duabelas) ekor babi betina muda peranakan Landrace dengan kisaran berat badan awal 34-49,5 kg (koefisien keragaman 13,35%), pollard dan pakan komplit “CP 552”. Metode yang digunakan adalah percobaan (eksperimen) dengan rancangan acak kelompok (RAK) yang terdiri dari 4 perlakuan dan 3 kelompok sebagai ulangan masing-masing ; R0 : 100% CP 552; R1 : 95% CP 552 + 5% pollard; R2 : 90% CP 552 + 10% pollard; dan R3 : 85% CP 552 + 15% pollard. Hasil analisis ragam menunjukkan bahwa substitusi 5%–15% pollard terhadap CP 552 berpengaruh tidak nyata terhadap pertambahan berat badan, panjang badan, lingkar dada dan konsumsi ransum, namun pada level subtitusi 10% dan 15% nyata mengurangi pertambahan tinggi badan. Berdasarkan kenyataan tersebut, dapat disimpulkan bahwa substitusi pakan komplit “CP 552” dengan pollard memberi pengaruh yang relatif sama terhadap pertumbuhan babi betina peranakan Landrace fase pertumbuhan kecuali pertambahan tinggi badan yang nyata semakin rendah.

Abstract

The study aimed at evaluating the effect of including fermented banana weevil (FBW) on intake and digestibility of crude fiber (CF) and nitrogen free extract (NFE) of starter landrace crossbred pigs. Procedure of block design of 4 treatments with 3 replicates was applied in the trial. The trial treatments consisted of: feed without (0%) fermented banana weevil(R0); feed containing FBW substituting 7% rice bran (R1), feed containing FBWsubstituting 14% rice bran(R2), and feed containing FBWsubstituting 21%rice bran (R3). The results showed that effect of treatment is significant (P<0,05) on intake and digestibility of NFE, but not significant (P>0,05)on intake and digestibility of crude fiber values. The conclusion draw is that fermented banana weevil can substitute 7-21% rice bran in the starter pigs feed. ABSTRAK Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui pengaruh penggunaan tepung bonggol pisang terfermentasi dalam ransum terhadap konsumsi dan kecernaan serat kasar dan BETN. Rancangan yang digunakan adalah rancangan acak kelompok yang terdiri dari 4 perlakuan dan 3 ulangan. Masing-masing perlakuan diberi pakan tanpa bonggol pisang kepok terfermentasi 0% (R0), ransum mengandung 7% bonggol pisang kepok terfermentasi (R1), ransum mengandung 14% bonggol pisang kepok terfermentasi (R2), dan ransum mengandung 21% bonggol pisang kepok terfermentasi (R3). Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa perlakuan berpengaruh nyata (P<0,05) terhadap konsumsi dan kecernaan BETN, namunberpengaruh tidak nyata (P>0,05) terhadap konsumsi dan kecernaan serat kasar. Bertolak dari hasil tersebut, disimpulkan bahwa tepung bonggol pisang kepok terfermentasi dapat digunakan sebagai pengganti dedak padi 7-21% dalam ransum ternak babi.

Abstract

The study aimed at evaluating the effect supplementation of moringa (Moringa oleifera. L) leaves solution into liquid feeding on feed efficiency and carcass quality in landrace crossbred growing-finishing pig. There were 12 barrows with 18 – 45 (average 29.17) kg, CV 24,17% initial body weight used in the study. Trial method using block design 4 treaments with 3 replicates pocedures were applied in the study. The 4 treatment diets offered in the trial were: T0 = basal diet (control) T1 = basal diet + Moringa leaves colution 5%; T2 = basal diet + Moringa solution 10%; and T3 = basal diet + Moringa solution 15%. Variables evaluiated in the study were: Feed efficiency, carcass quality (carcass weight, carcass percentage, loin eye area and bact fat). Results this study shows the treatment of moringa leaf solution supplementation markedly into liquid feeding is not significant (P>0.05) increased on feed efficiency, carcass weight and loin eye area but significant increased (P>0.05) on carcass percentage and reduced back fat thickness. The conclusion: the treatment of moringa leaf solution has the tendency to increase feed efficiency and can improve the quality of the carcass by increasing the loin eye area and decreasing the thickness of back fat. It was concluded that moringa leaf supplementation in liquid feeding > 10% of the feed can improve carcass quality.
