Abstract

In a social order until recently, the male and female status is still often being debated. This discourse is increasingly phenomenal in sports and physical education which often firmly create problems of dichotomy between men and women both in the perspective of sex and gender. This study aims to explore the extent to which the understanding of the concept of gender ideology is among teachers, high school students, stakeholders, and the public in the municipality of Surakarta and their implications in physical education. This research is designed as a qualitative descriptive exploratory study. The social setting as the object of this research is High School (SMA) in the municipality of Surakarta. The techniques of data collection employed in this research were deep interviews, observation, and documentary studies. The results showed that the average understanding of the concept of gender still overlapped with the concept of sex. The characteristics of the dominant gender ideology were naturally patterned. This was influenced by social, cultural, and religious contexts and the general social perspective towards women. Although the discourse of gender equality had emerged in many ways, people in general still strongly believed in the differences between male and female. This is then strongly implied in the implementation of physical education teaching practices. Forms of domination in learning, differences in standards, as well as distinctions in patterns of communication and sanctions, are still phenomenal.

Abstract

The preliminary study gives the result that the Football School (SSB) trainers in Medan City do not yet have adequate long passing and shooting skill measuring instruments. They rely on observation only in assessing their students’ achievement. Assessment that is based on observation has many weaknesses, one of which is the high element of subjectivity. This study aims to produce instruments to measure the studentss long passing and shooting skills. This is a research and development study. The authors used experimental methods in this study through the following steps, (a) draft development, (b) validation, (c) small group tryouts, and (d) extended group trials. The small group tryouts were conducted three times and the extended group trial was administered once. In the extended group trial the authors involved 150 male students of 8 SSB. Based on factorial analysis (validity test) and test and retest (reliability test), the result is that the long passing and shooting instruments are valid (P <000) and reliable (R> 0.6). Thus, this measuring instrument is very good for measuring long passing and shooting skills of the SSB students.

Abstract

This research is motivated by the diverse characteristics that exist among Bobotoh Supporters in their efforts to support Persib, such that the character possessed by each individual generates a variety of perspectives among fellow Bobotoh. This is a qualitative study using a phenomenological approach, which refers to a method that explains the similarity of meaning that exists between concepts or phenomena in a group or individual. The data for this study came from Bobotoh Supporters, who were represented by two districts, Viking Galuh Ciamis and Viking Cirebon, which included the Supporter’s chief and members residing in West Java.According to the findings of this study, the characteristics of Bobotoh supporters who support Persib are generally favorable, although they vary by match. The association between Bobotoh Supporters’ characteristics and the match will be consistent if Bobotoh has excellent character while watching the match. The ideal Bobotoh Supporter possesses the following characteristics: Bobotoh who is prudent in responding to match results, vigilant in purchasing match tickets, honest in supporting Persib, and never causes Persib to suffer losses. The research concludes that the characteristics of Bobotoh Supporters in West Java already exhibit positive characteristics as supporters; however, under certain circumstances, even when Bobotoh exhibits positive characteristics, the emotionality of each individual Bobotoh Supporter remains difficult to control, particularly during Super Bigmatch matches involving rivals. Therefore, there are still a large number of characters in Bobotoh Supporters who support Persib, particularly during the Super Bigmatch match.

Abstract

This study aims at investigating student-athletes’ swearing motives when attending sports training program and competitions. This study involved 210 respondents (n = 201, Mage = 21.65; SD = 3.994), which were organized by the National Sports Committee of Indonesia, Jawa Tengah Province, Indonesia. Data collection used a self-rated questionnaire with a 5-Likert scale measuring for expressing anger, stressing from opponents, relieving tension and frustration, and customizing daily expression using the IBM SPSS software analyses. The results postulated that the scaled determinants empirically triggered student-athletes’ swearing motives in expressing anger (M = 2.13; SD =.922), stressing from opponents (M = 2.15; SD = 1.005), relieving tension and frustration (M = 1.98; SD = 1.019), and customizing daily expression (M = 2.10; SD = 1.087), although there were no statistically significant differences among those determinants. The dependent variable showed that F (4, 202), p = .000; Wilks’ Lambda = .58; and partial eta squared = .13, whilst the normality, linearity, and homoscedasticity consequences were not transgressive. Hence, among the determinants had positive correlations (r = .769, n = 210, p.01), where student-athletes’ swearing expression levels sequentially placed stressing from the opponents associated with expressing anger, customizing daily expression, and relieving tension and frustration. Meanwhile, social media was mostly eligible to determine gender-based swearing expressions (females = 50.4%, males = 43.2%), expressed by the local swearwords. These swearing motives constitute student-athletes’ intrinsic and extrinsic relationships, whether positive or negative actions that conditionally differentiate student-athletes’ psychological well-being across the dimensions of self-acceptance, autonomy, environment and personal maturation

This is a qualitative study whereby data were collected through observation, documentation, and interview. The Indonesian Sports System was used as the object of sports policy. Seven people actively participated in this study. Data analysis consisted of reduction, presentation, and conclusion drawing. The results showed that the Indonesian Sports System has been implementing TARSIL values. All components of TARSIL are stated in the Indonesian Sports System. Abstract

Establishing student exchange programs is one way for sports science faculty to support the University to be a world-class university. For several years the faculty has been hosting several batches of a sports students exchange (SSE) program that gains interest and benefits for the students and the institution; however, limited studies have been conducted to present information about the program and its support system. This research is conducted to explain and give an overview of the program as well as explore the support system of the program. Three primary data, namely a depth-interview, questionnaire, and documentation, are gathered to explore the SSE program. The participants are lectures, faculty management, and students involved in the SSE in 2018-2019. The existence of the SSE program was exceedingly influenced by the faculty participation in AUCPESS. A grant from the Dharmasiswa Scholarship that aimed to bolster the exchange of culture and build up the Faculty's International atmosphere was the first booster. However, after the funding stopped, the program ran independently with non-financial support from Rector, faculty management, partner universities, and students. Hence, funding is not a pivotal issue as long as the University and faculty management eager to support the program.

Abstract

Partnerships with companies or sponsorships cannot be separated in the implementation of sporting events; even sponsorship is a significant investment given by companies in the sports industry. However, every company has considerations before sponsoring a sporting event, one of the influencing factors is the attitude of the organizing committee to the company that is a potential sponsor. The purpose of this study is to demonstrate the importance of the committee's attitude toward the company's decision to sponsor a sporting event. By using quantitative descriptive research and survey methods, this study collected data from 33 companies that met the criteria of having sponsored a sporting event and were willing to participate in the study by completing a willingness sheet. The data is taken from a questionnaire filled out by the Company Owner or the company's Marketing Department by first answering questions about the duration of work in the company. Then, respondents responded to statements that came from four indicators, namely the relationship between the committee and the company, the company's interest in the committee, the committee provided a sense of comfort for the company in working together, and the company felt benefited from working together, with the answer strongly agree, agree, disagree, and strongly disagree. After that, the data was analyzed using excel and shown in graph on percentages to explain that the indicator of comfort in working together plays the highest role with a total of 42.42% strongly agree and 48.48% agree. Indirectly, this facet provides information to future sports organizers to assist them in obtaining funding for sports events through a win-win situation or mutualistic relationship.
