Abstract

Ikan mas adalah salah satu jenis ikan konsumsi yang palingdiminati. Budidaya intensif dilakukan dengan mengoptimalkan padat penebaranmenggunakan sistem padat tebar tinggi. Penelitian bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh padat tebar tinggi terhadap kelangsungan hidup dan laju pertumbuhan ikan untuk menentukan padat tebar maksimal ikan mas dengan ukuran panjang rata-rata10 cm dan bobot rata-rata 1,0 gram. Ikan mas yang digunakan sebanyak150 ekor. Penelitian dilakukan di Kolam Budidaya Nelayan Kabupaten Simalungun, Sumatera Utara padabulan Juli-Agustus 2021. Parameter yang diamati antara lain: kelangsungan hidup dan laju pertumbuhan bobot harian. Rancangan percobaan yang digunakan Rancangan Acak Lengkap (RAL) dengan 3 perlakuan yaitu padat tebar 50 ekor/m³ (P1), 100 ekor/m³ (P2) dan 150 ekor/m³ (P3) dan diulang 3 kali. Perlakuan P1 menunjukkanlaju pertumbuhan bobot harian dan laju pertumbuhan panjang harian terbaik yaitu sebesar 3,51%. Perlakuan P3 menunjukkan laju pertumbuhan bobotharian dan laju pertumbuhan panjang harian terendah yaitu sebesar 3,15%. Padat tebar berpengaruh nyata terhadap laju pertumbuhan panjang harian dan laju pertumbuhan bobot harian namun tidak berpengaruh nyata terhadap kelangsungan hidup. Hasil uji lanjut Tuckey menunjukkan perlakuan P3 berbedanyata dengan P1 namun P1 dan P3 tidak berbeda nyata dengan P2.

Abstract

Growth, Net Assimilation and Yield Analysis of Eggplant(Solanum melongena L.): Dosage of Goat Manure and NPK FertilizerThe research was aimed to obtain the dose of goat manure, NPK fertilizer and the interaction in increasing the growth and yield of eggplant. The research was usedthe randomized block design factorial with the first factor (goat manure) such as K0= 0 ton.ha-1, K1= 10 ton.ha-1, K2= 20 ton.ha-1 and the second factor (NPK Mutiara 16-16-16) such as P0= 0 ton.ha-1, P1= 100 ton.ha-1, P2= 200 ton.ha-1, P3= 300 ton.ha-1 with three replications. This research was conducted at Jl. Eka Rasmi, Medan Johor Subdistrict, Medan, North Sumatra from August until October 2019. The parameters such as plant height, leaf area, fresh weight of root and shoot, dry weight of root and shoot, total dry weight, fruitweight.plant-1, fruit weight.plot-1, crop growth rate (CGR), relative growth rate (RGR), and net assimilation rate (NAR) wereanalyzed using the ANOVA and the means were followed by DMRT test at the level of 5% used the IBM SPSS Statistics v.20. The results showed an increase in leaf area, fresh weight of shoot, dry weight of root, dry weight of shoot, total dry weight, and fruit weight.plant-1, of eggplant plant with the increasing dose of goat manure up to 20 ton.ha-1of 23.27%; 35.85%; 17.64%; 16.55%; 16.66%; and 17.18%, respectively compared to untreated except plant height. Growth in leaf area, fresh weight of shoot, dry weight of root, dry weight of shoot, total dry weight, fruit weight.plant-1 and fruit weight.plot-1of eggplant plant were increased with increasing NPK fertilizer dosage up to 300 kg.ha-1of 16.88%; 25.96%; 24.08%; 38.37%; 34.46%; 21.85%; and 19.22%, respectively compared to untreated. The interaction of goat manure with NPK does not significantly affect on the growth and yield of eggplant plant. The CGR, RGR, and NARvalue in the giving of goat manure from 10 until 30 days after planting was higher compared to the application of Mutiara NPK fertilizer.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the response of growth and production of Kailan (Brassica oleracea var. Alboglabra) to Gedebog Banana POC and cow manure with different administrations. The study was carried out, Johor Village, Medan Johor District, North Sumatra from August 2019 to November 2019. The method used in this study was a Factorial Randomized Block Design (RAK) consisting of two factors, namely: POC Gedebog Banana Dose Factor (A1 = 200ml /L; A2 = 300ml/L and A3 = 400ml/L.). Dosage Factor of Cow Manure (K1 = 5 tons/ha; K2 = 10 tons/ha and K3 = 15 tons/ha). Giving POC Gedebog bananas showed significantly different effects on plant height, wet weight per plant and dry weight of kailan plants, but did not show a significantly different effect on the number of plant leaves. The application of cow manure showed no significant effect on all variables. The interaction of Gedebog Banana POC administration with Cow Manure showed a significantly different effect on plant height and dry weight per plant, but showed no significant effect on the number of plant leaves.

Abstract

Waringin Center adalah salah satu tempat yang mengelola kegiatan usaha penggemukan dan pembibitan ternak domba yang berada di Stabat Kabupaten Langkat, Provinsi Sumatera Utara yang dijadikan sebagai objke pengabdian masyarakat oleh Fakultas Pertanian dan Peternakan Universitas Tjut Nyak Dhien Medan. Anggota dari Waringin Center ini banyak sebagai petani-peternak terutama ternak ruminansia kecil. Pengetahuan pemberian pakan terhadap ternak perlu dilakukan sehingga dapat eningkatkan produksi ternak yang dipelihara sehingga menambah pendapatan peternak. Pengenalan hijauan pakan ternak dan pemanfaatan hasil samping pertanian perlu dilakukan mengingat didaerah tersebut masih banyak lahan pertanian yang dapat dimanfaatkan sebagai tempat sumber pakan ternak. Pengabdian dilakukan untuk melatih dan memberi informasi jenis-jenis hijauan pakan ternak dan hasil samping pertanian yang selama ini dianggab limbah oleh masyarakat dapat dimanfaatkan sebagai pakan ternak. Pelatihan dilakukan dengan mengumpulan anggota peternak Waringin Center dan memberi presentasi kepada mereka. Hasil kegiatan pengabdian yang dilakukan bahwa peserta yang merupan anggota Waringin Center mengikuti pelatihan dengan semangat dan antusias yang tinggi sehingga mereka dapat mengenali jenis-jenis hijauan pakan yang dapat dijadikan paka ternak dan hasil samping pertanian yang dapat dimanfaatkan sebagai pakan.

Abstract

Pendahuluan: Tujuan penelitian ini untuk mengidentifikasi jenis makrofauna tanah yang ada pada tanaman kakao yang menghasilkan dan tanaman kakao yang belum menghasilkan. Metode Penelitian: Penelitian ini dilaksanakan di kebun kakao rakyat, Kabupaten Langkat, dan dilanjutkan identifikasi serangga di Laboratorium Hama Tanaman, Fakultas Pertanian, Universitas Sumatera Utara, Medan dari bulan April sampai Mei 2019. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode deksriptif kuantitatif. Hasil Penelitian: terdapat beberapa ordo Hymenoptera, Orthoptera, Coleoptera, Oligochaeta, dan Araneae dengan jumlah makrofauna yang berbeda.

Abstract

Introduction: The research was aimed to obtain an appropriate dose of cow manure waste, calcium oxide lime, and interactions in increasing the growth and yield of cowpea. Material and Methods: The research was conducted in Secanggang Village, Secanggang Subdistrict, Langkat District in June until September 2017. The research was conducted using the Randomized Block Design Factorial, the first factor (cow manure waste) dose of L0= 0 ton ha-1; L1= 10 ton ha-1; L2= 20 ton ha-1. The second factor (calcium oxide lime) dose of K0= 0 ton ha-1; K1= 3 ton ha-1; K2= 6 ton ha-1; and K3= 9 ton ha-1. Data were analyzed using the F and followed by DMRT at level 5% using IBM SPSS Statistics v.20 software. Results: The cow manure waste dosages of 10 until 20 ton.ha-1 significantly increased the plant height at 4 Weeks After Planting (WAP) and yield.plot-1 of cowpea ranged from 2.14 to 2.50% and 13.00 to 15.98%, respectively and the dose of 20 ton.ha-1 significantly increased the yield.sample-1 of 17.44% compared to untreated. The application of calcium oxide lime at the dose of 9 ton.ha-1 significantly increased the plant height of cowpea at 4 WAP of 2.46%, and the dose of 6 until 9 ton.ha-1 significantly increased the yield.sample-1 and yield.plot-1. However the highest was found in the dosage 6 ton.ha-1 of 13.51% and 20.16% compared to untreated. The interaction of cow manure waste with calcium oxide lime were not significant effect on growth and yield of cowpea.

Abstract

Introduction: The purpose of this study was to determine the dosage of inorganic fertilizers, soaking time of the inoculation of the legume bacteria strains which were suitable for the growth and yield of peanut in tidal lowland. Materials and Methods: This research was conducted at tidal lowland in Sei Ular Village, Secanggang sub-District, Langkat District, North Sumatra from September to December 2019. The research used randomized block design in factorial. The first factor is the dose of inorganic fertilizers consisting of P0 = un-fertilizer (control), P1= urea 50 kg.ha-1 + TSP 180 kg.ha-1 + KCl 50 kg.ha-1, P2= urea 75 kg.ha-1 + TSP 205 kg.ha-1 + KCl 75 kg.ha-1, P3= urea 100 kg.ha-1 + TSP 230 kg.ha-1 + KCl 100 kg.ha-1. The second factor was the soaking time of the Bradyrhizobium japonicum bacterial strain consisting of T0= un-soaking time, T1= soaking time for 3 minutes, T2= soaking time for 6 minutes, and T3= soaking time for 9 minutes. Parameters were analyzed using ANOVA and BNJ analysis 5%.· Results: The application of urea 50 kg.ha-1 + TSP 180 kg.ha-1 + KCl 50 kg.ha-1 significantly increased the plant height, number of leaves, and root volume and showed the highest number of active nodules, dry pods.plot-1 and seed weight.plot-1 compared to other doses. The seed soaking time with the Bradyrhizobium japonicum strain and their interactions showed insignificant differences in all parameters of peanut plants in tidal lowland.

Abstract

Introduction: Grasses is one part of the forage, that it is necessary to support the production of grass management. The research was to determine the effect of cutting age and the use of liquid organic fertilizers (LOF) for king grass in overcoming the problem of forage feed availability. Materials and Methods: This research was conducted at the experimental field in Faculty of Agriculture and Animal Husbandry, Universitas Tjut Nyak Dhien, Medan Tuntungan Subdistrict, North Sumatra. This research used a split plot design with two factors. The main-plot was the cutting age, include T1= 35 days; T2= 45 days; T3= 55 days. The sub-plot was the different dosage of LOF, such as P0= un-fertilization; P1= 50 l.ha-1; P2= 75 l.ha-1; P3= 100 l.ha-1. The parameters were analyzed the F-test and continued with the LSD at level of 5%. Results: The cutting age significantly increased the tillers, yield of fresh matter, yield of dry matter, and storage capacity, but it had insignificant effect on the height of king grass with the highest increase was at the age of 55 days. The LOF doses significantly increased the height of king grass, tillers, and yield of fresh matter with the highest increase at the dose of 100 l.ha-1, but it had insignificant effect on yield of dry matter and storage capacity. Interaction between the cutting age with LOF significantly increase the highest of king grass height at 100 l.ha-1 of LOF + 55 days of 220.67 cm.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengkaji penggunaan ragam media tanam dan Pupuk Organik Cair (POC) terhadap pertumbuhan vegetatif bibit kelapa sawit (Elaeis guineensis Jacq) di pembibitan awal. Metode yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah Rancangan Acak Kelompok (RAK) faktorial terdiri dari dua factor yaitu : faktor pertama: pemberian ragam media tanam 3 taraf: M0 = topsoil 100%, M1= pupuk kandang ayam 30% + abu sekam padi 30% + topsoil 40%, M2= kompos 30% + abu sekam padi 30% + topsoil 40%. Faktor kedua: pemberian POC 4 taraf: P0= tanpa POC, P1 = POC 10 ml/ l air, P2= POC 20 ml/l air, P3 = POC 30 ml/l air. Interaksi ragam media tanam dan POC terhadap pertumbuhan vegetative tanaman kelapa sawit (Elaeis guineensis Jacq) di pembibitan awal berpengaruh tidak nyata pada parameter pengamatan yakni tinggi tanaman, diameter batang, bobot basah dan bobot kering tanaman, namun berpengaruh nyata terhadap luas daun.
