Abstract

Research on wastewater treatment from coconut oil by using local anaerobic bacteria was carried out by continues methods. Local anaerobic bacteria from cattle breeding farm have been acclimated by mix with chemicals for bacteria growth, The TOC load is 1,8 g!Llday, and the removal efficiency of TOC is 75 % this condition not optimal. Mixture between bacteria and waste water and also the distribution of bacteria in the wasreactor was not good there fore condition was not optimal yet. High contain of oil in the wastewater also lower the efficiency.

Abstract

Kraft mill bleaching process is some significant source of chlorinated organic compounds. In this process, wood pulp is bleached using plant specific sequence of chlorination with chlorine and extraction with alkali. The waste water from chlorination of Kraft bleaching contains many toxic compounds that very difficult to be removed by conventional activated sludge treatment. Adding an organic substrate will affect the methanogenesis. The aims of this study are: (1). To remove adsorbable organichalide (AOX) by anaerobic treatment, (2). Toexamine the effect co-substrates to methanogenesis, such as methanol and glucose, (3). To know the effect of sterilization to decrease of AOX. The result is AOX can be removed anaerobically with or without co-substrate.

Abstract

Wastewater from electroplating industries mainly came from plating bath regeneration and rinsing water. The other usually came from pretreatment process, such as washing solution that used for removal oil, rust and other material. The characteristics of electroplating wastewater were very high metal contain in wastewater, especially chrome hexavalent contains. Another type of wastewater with a high and low pH also emitted from electroplating industries. This research was . conducted to investigate the appropriate conditions to minimize chrome contains in wastewater. This research was started by finding out the Oxidize reduction Potential (ORP) and addition of coagulant. And followed by sedimentation process by using 10 % Al2 (C04)3 as a coagulant and an adition of 0,1 % polymer with pH is 10. The result is evaluated by measuring chrome contains in the effluent. The optimal condition of the treatment 15 as follow : Oxidize Reduction Potential (ORP) is 300 mv retention time is 5 menit, and pH is 2.5. And followed by sedimentation process by using 10% Al2(SO 4)3 as a coagulant and an addition of 0, 1 % polymer with pH

Abstract

The research on lokal anaerobic bacteria for degradation of organic waste water was carried out by draw­and­fill methods, at room temperature of 30 ± 2 °C. At initial stage, synthetic waste water was used. At a TOC loading rate of 0,5 gll/d had no major effects on the seed from cattle breeding waste disposal lagoon, river bottom and acclimated granullar bacteria, TOC removal efficiency was high about 95 %. However, TOC removal efficiency of the seed from paper industrial waste disposal lagoon was not stable, decreased during the time of treatment, it indicated that the degradation process was only on acidification step.

Abstract

Among the pathogenic bacteria, Bacillus Thuringiensis is the one of potential bacterial insecticides which has the capability in crystallizing protein in the cell as an entomoxcyn or active agent of bioinsecticides. The advantages of bioinsecticides usage are toxic only to the insect target, and it is net creating bioinsecticides are toxic. The commercial form of Bacillus Thuringiensis is made from the active bacteria agent as mixing of spora and protein crystal and carrier. The active bacteria agent prepared by two kinds of fermentation methods, sub merged fermentation and semi solid fermentation. There are 7 bioinsecticide form available in Indonesia such as Granule, Flowable Concentrate, Wettable Powder, Suspension, Aqueous Suspension, Water Dispersible Granule and Ultra Low Volume. There product are not produce yet in Indonesia, just repacking for commercial purposes.
