Abstract

This study was a general survey on religiosity and spirituality of undergraduate students. There has been lack of such studies in Indonesia, despite of its importance in the study of human development and counseling psychology. One hundred and ninety nine male and female students of different religious backgrounds (Catholic, Moslem, and Protestant) participated in the study. Data were gathered using the Faith Development Scale (FDS) and the Survey of Students’ Spirituality. Descriptive statistics analysis of the data showed that more first year students have higher level of faith development than final year students and more females have higher level of faith development than male students. Other results indicated that most students do not believe in a Higher Power that controls their lives, have no clear future, and need help in their spiritual growth. Further studies on this area need to be done in order to understand the student as a whole person as well as a spiritual being, in order to be more effective in helping them during their studies in the university and in their personal development. Keywords: spirituality, religiosity, faith development. Alat pengumpul data meliputi Faith Development Scale dan Survey of Students’ Spirituality.

Abstract

Fresh graduates in their early adult development are vulnerable to experiencing a quarter-life crisis. This study uses Acceptance and Commitment Therapy in dealing with the quarter-life crisis. Three fresh graduates participated in this research. They were given the Quarter-Life Crisis measurement tool and The Comprehensive Assessment of Acceptance and Commitment Treatment Process tool before being given the Acceptance and Commitment Therapy intervention in 4 sessions for two weeks. The results of this study show, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy can reduce scores of indecisiveness in making decisions, desperation, negative self-judgment, being stuck in a tough situation, anxiety, depression, and worried about interpersonal relationships that are being and will be built for the fresh graduates. It also can increase the scores of defusion, self as a context, acceptance, values, flexibles at the present moment, and committed action for fresh graduates. Both of the results show that the intervention is having an impact on fresh graduates. Even so, the research is not significant from a quantitative analysis standpoint.

This research aims to see the influence of the impostor phenomenon on anxiety and youth religiosity in adolescents during the pandemic. The research method uses a quantitative approach with regression techniques. A total of 63 participants selected using the accidental sampling method with an age range of 18–21 years who entered college in 2020 filled out the Clance Impostor Phenomenon Scale (CIPS), State-Trait Anxiety Inventory (STAI), and Central Religiosity Scale (CRS) questionnaires. The research results show that the simultaneous interaction of independent variables on state anxiety is 43.3%, while on trait anxiety, it is 58.9%.
