Abstract

The technology of laserpuncture in livestock is an acupuncture technique using Laser (Light Amplification by Stimulated Emission of Radiation) that is fired at acupuncture points as biological receptors that are related to organs that can provide stimulatory effects. This research was conducted in the laboratory of Airlangga University for 30 days using a sample of 18 cambell ducks divided into 3 treatments and laser shot with 3 days interval. Treatment 0 as control, treatment 1 got laser treatment dose 0,2 joule and treatment 2 got laser treatment dose 0,5 joule. On the final result of the eggs that have been in the production of duck research for 29 days. P2 given laser shootings with a dose of 0.5 joule yielded more eggs with 158 grains compared to P1 given laser shootings with a dose of 0.2 joules yielding 126 grains and P0 with inactivated laser yielding a total of 86 grains. The conclusion of this study is the shooting of laserpuncture dose of 0.2-0.5 joule can increase egg productivity

Abstract

The purpose of this research is to know the impact of bread waste to efficiency reproduction of Friesian Holstein cow in regional working KPSP Setia Kawan Nongkojajar, Pasuruan by value Service per Conception (S/C), Conception Rate (CR), Days Open (DO). Method in this research is the dependent variable observed is the reproductive efficiency, the dependent variable as a supporter is the cow has given birth, the healthy dairy cow, the feed volume given. The data obtained is processed by using descriptive analysis to get the reproduction efficiency figure. The result of the research indicate that the value of Service per Conception (S/C) = 1.5 ± 0.69 times, Days Open (DO) = 95.6 ± 11.32 days and Conception Rate (CR) = 65% and Fertility Status (FS) = 72,4%. Results of this study can be concluded that bread waste provided by the breeder as an additional feed for dairy cow has no significant effect.

Abstract

This study aimed to determine the relationship between heat detector reading results and the feature of vaginal swab preparations as a parameter for determining estrus in Peranakan Etawa goats. Five healthy non-pregnant goats weighing 20-30 kg, were synchronized using PGF2α (7.5 mg Dinoprost, Enzaprost) intramuscularly twice with 11 days interval. Vaginal cytology examination began the day after the second PGF2α injection. The heat detector (Draminski®, Dramiński SA, Poland) is an estrus detecting device based on the amount of electric current flowing through the vaginal mucus. Spearman correlation analysis showed a relationship (p <0.05) between heat detector reading and estrus detection based on vaginal cytology. The heat detector readings were very significantly correlated positively (p <0.01) with the number of epithelial cells (coefficient correlation, r= 0.564), but negatively correlated with the number of cornified cells (r = –0.854), and also significantly correlated positively (p <0.05) to the number of leukocytes (r = 0.487). The estrus stages were significantly correlated positively (p <0.05) only to the number of leukocytes (r = 0.918). Likewise, the number of epithelial cells was highly correlated negatively (p <0.01) only to cornified cells (r = –0,643), and the number of cornified cells was significantly correlated negatively (p <0.05) only to the number of leukocytes (r = –0.472). It could be concluded that the features of the proestrus, estrus and metestrus stages based on the goat vaginal cytology was correlated with the reading results of the heat detector.
