Abstract

Kemajuan teknologi informasi khususnya terkait dengan program komputer yang dapat meningkatkan serta menunjang efektivitas dan efisiensi proses bisnis. Oleh karenanya kemajuan teknologi informasi membuat organisasi di semua lini bisnis mengembangkan serta dan mengaplikasikan penggunaan teknologi untuk menghasilkan berbagai macam informasi. Database yang terkomputerisasi sangat menunjang kinerja dari suatu entitas, perancangan database perkantoran melalui Microsoft Acsess sangat membantu dalam pengolahan data serta memberikan informasi yang valid dalam pengambilan keputusan. Oleh karenanya siswa/i SMK PGRI Kabupaten Brebes perlu dibekali keterampilan dalam merancang serta membuat database menggunakan Microsoft Acsess. Adapun manfaat kegiatan pengabdian kepada masyarakat ini adalah siswa/i dapat merancang dan membuat database menggunakan microsoft acsess. Metode yang digunakan dalam kegiatan pengabdian masyarakat ini adalah metode pelatihan dengan praktik langsung desain database melalui komputer yang tersedia di laboraturium komputer SMK PGRI Kabupaten Brebes. Kesimpulan kegiatan pengabdian kepada masyarakat ini adalah mayoritas siswa/i belum familiar atau belum mengetahui microsoft acsess sehingga siswa/i tersebut sangat antusias dalam mengikuti pelatihan perancangan database perkantoran.

Abstract

The ability in to speak English in the public place being a scourge for students due to minimize the anxiety because of lack of speaking practice in their life, so that an effective media is needed to decrease the students’ anxiety in speaking by making video blog (VLOG) . The aims of this study are to minimize students’ anxiety in public speaking that focus on descriptive text teaching materials, and to improve students’ speaking skills in the context of description through VLOG media. The subjects in this study is the student of DIII Computer Engineering at the Polytechnic of Harapan Bersama Tegal with a qualitative descriptive research approach by using the Classroom Action Research (CAR) method in two cycles, each of the cycle consists of four stages of planning, implementation, observation, and reflection. The data collection method in this study is to use a questionnaire, interview, observation, and reflection in accordance with the Action Research guidelines. The finding showed that the average of pre test score was only 52.5, after treating by video blog it was improved to 74.5 in cycle 1, then it improved more in cycle 2 and reached 87.3. So, it improved 34.8 point from pre test to the post test. In line with the data, designing video blog is effective to minimize students’ anxiety in teaching spoken descriptive test and it works to improve the students speaking skill. Moreover, students also get their own motivation to speak confidently in the public place. Some aspects that improved are fluency, pronunciation, vocabulary items and content. As the final result, it can be inferred that making video blog minimize students’ anxiety in speaking and it improves students’ speaking performance.

Abstract

In this study, researchers examined how the implementation of the ESCO method combined with video material media in improving the ability to write English procedure text. This study belongs to Class Action Research. The data analysis method used descriptive quantitative method. The respondents in this study were 44 first-year students of the Applied Bachelor of Public Sector Accounting department of Polytechnic Harapan Bersama who were gathered in one class and given the same treatment. The data were collected using a pretest-posttest assessment and a questionnaire. The data obtained in the form of a pre-test and post-test were analysed to see if there was an increase in the student's ability to write procedural texts. The analysis of the pre-test and post-test scores was combined with the students’ questionnaire which contained students’ opinions regarding the implementation of the ESCO method as a learning method. The results of this study indicated that there is an increase in the student's ability to write procedural texts in English as an improvement between their pre-test and post-test scores.

Abstract

The teaching and learning process during the pandemic requires adjustments and the use of adequate learning alternatives in providing material to students in brave classes. This study aims to determine the effectiveness of using the ekuliah website as a learning medium for third semester students in the D-III Accounting study program at Politeknik Harapan Bersama in studying descriptive text material during the COVID-19 pandemic situation. This research is a true experimental study that uses two class groups as research objects. Pre-test was given to both class groups in order to determine the initial competencies possessed by students. The two class groups were then taught descriptive text material with different treatments. The treatment was carried out using the conventional method for the comparison class group and the use of the ekuliah website media for the experimental class group. After the post-test was held at the end of the treatment, the test results experienced a significant increase in the average score for the comparison class group of 2.4 points (mean of pre-test score was 72.6 and post-test was 75) and 6.9 points (mean of pre-test score was 76 and post-test was 82.9) for the experimental class. It can be said that learning descriptive text material for third semester students of the D-III Accounting Study Program at Politeknik Harapan Bersama using the ekuliah website is effective in improving learning outcomes.

Abstract

This study discusses the translation techniques used by students in the abstract part of the final project from Indonesian into English by using the translation techniques of Molina and Albir. This study used a qualitative evaluation to study the results of the analysis of translation techniques. In this study, the data collected by the researchers chose the abstracts that were present in the 50 final projects abstract text of the Associate Degree (Diploma 3) Accounting Study Program in Politeknik Harapan Bersama year 2021 with a simple random sample technique of data collecting method for all students. The abstract was then analyzed and classified based on translation techniques based on Molina and Albir's classification (2002). The data was calculated to find the dominant translation technique. Finally, the authors report the findings that there are 247 analyzed data found from Indonesian to English. From 18 translation techniques from Molina and Albir, the translator found 5 different techniques. The analysis findings are as follows: Translation techniques found in the abstract: literal 190 times, borrowing 33 times, calque 10 times, adaptation 10 times, and compensation 4 times. Based on the above findings, the translation technique used by many translators in the translation of abstract texts in the final project is a literal translation.

Abstract

The Covid-19 virus that spreads in Indonesia has a tremendous impact on all fields, one of which is education. As an effort to prevent the spread of the Covid-19 virus, learning during the pandemic is encouraged to be done remotely or commonly referred to as online learning. The online learning process requires schools to adapt, and during the school adaptation process, teachers and students experience problems because the online/online learning process is different from face-to-face/offline learning. The problem of online learning is also experienced by activity partners, namely SMK Muhammadiyah Adiwerna. Specific problems with partners are difficulties in explaining the subject matter. Creativity in the delivery of distance learning materials can be increased by implementing training programs for teachers in the use of technology and information. Therefore, the community service team provides training in making learning videos using the Open Broadcaster Software (OBS) application. This activity is carried out in three stages. The first stage, the activity team discussed with partners related to the problems that occurred. The second stage, the activity team determines the theme of the activity and prepares the material for the activity. The third stage, the activity team conducts an evaluation. The results of the activity showed that there was an increase in the ability of participants to make video tutorials to support online learning. Keywords: online learning, open broadcaster software

Abstract

Kegiatan pengabdian masyarakat ini dilaksanakan di SMK NU 1 Slawi Kabupaten Tegal dengan tujuan mengedukasi siswa dan siswi kelas XII Akuntansi terhadap pengelolaan e-wallet secara optimal dan meningkatkan pengetahuan dan keterampilan siswa dalam menggunakan e-wallet secara bijak. Metode yang diterapkan dalam pelaksanaan kegiatan ini adalah metode ceramah, praktikum dan diskusi. Materi yang disampaikan mulai dari pengertian e-wallet, macam-macam e-wallet, keuntungan menggunakan e-wallet, efek negatif e-wallet jika digunakan dengan tidak bijak, dan cara mengoptimalkan penggunaan e-wallet agar menguntungkan user. Dilanjutkan dengan praktik menggunakan e-wallet yang optimal dan ditutup dengan diskusi tanya jawab. Hasil kegiatan pengabdian ini menunjukkan bahwa terjadi peningkatan wawasan dan pengetahuan siswa-siswi kelas XII Akuntansi dalam penggunaan e-wallet agar terhidar dari perilaku konsumtif, selain itu siswa-siswi juga dapat mempraktikan menggunakan e-wallet dengan bijak dan menguntungkan. Sebagai saran kegiatan seperti ini harus selalu dilakukan secara rutin agar para siswa mendapatkan update wawasan tentang literasi keuangan yang setiap hari mereka temui, agar menjadi user yang well literate.

Abstract

Guna peningkatan reading siswa SMK Karya Bhakti Brebes maka  dilaksanakan PKM pada Kamis, 15 Juni 2023 pukul 09.00-11.00 dengan menggunakan model pembelajaran STAD. Dengan menggunakan website quizizz untuk pengerjaan pretest, gruptest dan postest. Siswa berasal dari jurusan Rekayasa Perangkat Lunak (RPL). Hasil dari pelaksanaan PKM ini menunjukkan siswa lebih mudah memahami bagaimana cara membaca yang efektif dengan metode scanning dan skimming. Materi reading yang diujikan juga mudah dipahami para siswa sehingga tidak terlalu membebani para siswa dalam menjawabnya.

Abstract

The community service program carried out at SMA N 1 Pangkah, Tegal Regency aims to increase knowledge of taxation in realizing a tax-aware millennial generation at SMA N 1 Pangkah, Tegal Regency so that it can provide an understanding to the younger generation about the importance of taxes for all components of the nation. The object of this Community Service Program are the students of SMA N 1 Pangkah, Tegal Regency. The solution provided is in the form of providing material on the basics of taxation, types of taxes, taxes as a citizen's obligation, taxes as an embodiment of the Pancasila precepts and defending the country as well as material on the importance of the tax-aware millennial generation. The result of this dedication is that students gain an adequate understanding of the basic knowledge of taxation and the importance of taxes for the state so that one day they can become tax-aware millennial generations.
