Abstract

Limited number of microscope in a school become an obstacle to learning process, including to do anobservation to structure and function of tissue, especially from plants. This research discussed aboutplant tissue. Most students considered that this material was difficult due to limited number ofmicroscope and limited textbook information. Students became bored since the learning material wasdone only by listening and noting teachers’ explanation. The learning process suppose to make themactive, one of the alternative was by Numbered Head Together (NHT). The limited number ofmicroscope can be handled by the picture in picture puzzle. The purpose of this research was toanalyze the effectiveness of NHT with picture puzzle to the activity and learning outcome of studenstin plant tissue structure and function material. This research used pre-experimental with One ShotCase Study. The analysis of data included quantitative data to students’ activity, learning outcome,students’ opinion, and descriptive analysis to teacher’s opinion. The result of this research showed that91% of the students became active and very active. 82% of the students were also passed the score.Teacher and students gave positive reviews to the learning process. Based on the learning outcome, itwas concluded that the cooperative learning of NHT with picture puzzle was effective in increasingstudents’ learning activity and outcome in plant tissue function and structure material.

Abstract

The management of natural resources (medicinal plants) is a material taught in the UIN Walisongo biology education department. Based on preliminary observations students experience saturation of learning in the classroom. Therefore, it is necessary to attempt to overcome this by using JAS approaching learning module. This study aims to: (1) identify the types of medicinal plants grown in Taman Jamu Nyonya Meneer (TJNM) and TOGA Park Patemon Tengaran Village; (2) developing JAS medicinal plant modules; (3) test the validity, practicality and effectiveness of the module. Characteristics of the module consists of concept maps, indicators, materials, tasks, quizzes, experiments and essay tests. This research is a research and development (R & D) which is designed consists of stages: (1) analysis of potentials and problems; (2) data collection; (3) product design of learning module; (4) module characteristics; (5) validation of product design; (6) revision of phase I module; (7) small scale module test; (8) revision of module stage 2; (9) final module revision. A limited-scale trial was conducted at UIN Walisongo. Data collection was done by observation method, interview, questionnaire, documentation and test. Trials were conducted to test the practicality and effectiveness of the module on students' cognitive, affective and psychomotor learning outcomes. The result of identification of medicinal plants in TJNM and TOGA Park Patemon Village was found by the number of medicinal plants in TJNM that is 49 species and in Patemon Tengaran Village that is 23 species. Validation results are valid by media experts and valid by material experts. The cognitive learning result of 84.67% of students reach completeness. Students and lecturers responded very well to the developed learning modules.

Abstract

Abstrak Pengembangan kamus ekoleksikon tematik berwawasan ekolinguistik sebagai pengayaan materi ajar mata kuliah Pendidikan Konservasi diasumsikan dapat membantu dosen dan mahasiswa.Metode penelitian yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini yaitu penelitian dan pengembangan yang merupakan metode untuk meneliti, mengembangkan, serta menguji suatu produk sesuai kebutuhan khusus dan memiliki spesifikasi tertentu.Berdasarkan hasil penelitian disimpulkan: (1) kebutuhan kamus ekoleksikon tematik berwawasan ekolinguistik sebagai pengayaan materi ajar mata kuliah Pendidikan Konservasi diperoleh atas dasar masukan mahasiswa dan dosen mencakupi aspek: motivasi mahasiswa, materi atau isi kamus tematik, penyajian kamus tematik, bahan dan keterbacaan, serta grafika; (2) rancangan prototipe kamus ekoleksikon tematik berwawasan ekolinguistik sebagai pengayaan materi ajar mata kuliah Pendidikan Konservasi mengacu pada pilar konservasi, yaitu: nilai dan karakter, seni dan budaya, serta SDA dan lingkungan; serta (3) hasil uji ahli prototipe kamus ekoleksikon tematik berwawasan ekolinguistik sebagai pengayaan materi ajar mata kuliah Pendidikan Konservasi dengan responden dosen dan ahli berkategori baik. Hasil penelitian ini dapat dimanfaatkan sebagai referensi teoretis dan referensi praktis untuk meningkatkan kualitas pembelajaran mata kuliah Pendidikan Konservasi.   Kata Kunci: ekoleksikon,ekolinguistik, pendidikan konservasi.     Abstract   The development of the ecolinguistic dictionary with ecolinguistic insight as the enrichment of the subject matter of Conservation Education is assumed to assist the lecturers and the students. The research method used in this research is research and development which is a method to research, develop, and test a product according to special needs and have specification Based on the result of the research, it is concluded that (1) the need of ecolinguistic ecolinguic dictionary with ecolinguistic perspective as enrichment of subject matter of Conservation Education is obtained on the basis of student input and lecturer covering aspects: student motivation, material or contents of thematic dictionary, presentation of thematic dictionary, material and readability , and graphics; (2) prototype design of ecolexicic thematic dictation ecolinguistic insight as enrichment of subject matter of Conservation Education refers to the pillars of conservation, namely: value and character, art and culture, and natural resources and environment; and (3) expert test result of prototype of thematic ecolexicic dictionary with ecolinguistic insight as enrichment of subject matter of Conservation Education subject with lecturer respondents and good categorical experts. The results of this study can be used as a theoretical reference and practical reference to improve the quality of Conservation Education course.   Keywords: ekoleksikon, ecolinguistic, education conservation.

Abstract

Classification of living things is one of Biology material in the senior high school level which explains the formation of various animal and plants groups until structured the taxon following a hierarchy. The identification process of living things especially plants is one of activities that need students’ accuracy through observation. The plants identification process with determination key is main discussion on plants classification material in Biology learning for tenth grade of senior high school students. The problems found in living things classification material (plants) are difficulty in recognizing the plants characteristics, less key determination media, and lesson plan arranged by teacher tends only to be used for classroom activity. Furthermore, learning media is needed for increasing students’ competency from nature exploration which is used for identifying school’s environment. Plants key determination media which is developed from exploration of Guci forest tourism in Tegal Regency. Analysis of exploration result is 32 family and 50 species of plants are identified. The key determination media is validated by material expert with very valid result by score 85.7% and 94.4% from media expert. The media implementation in the learning results students’ score achievement by more than 93.9% students’ score surpassed KKM (minimum completeness criteria) with very good response from students and teacher while the method applied in the learning in the senior high school.

Abstract

The school environment has potential as a learning resource for developing contextual teaching materials. The purpose of this study is to test the validity and effectiveness of the module learning Discovery Learning model based on identification of plant in SMAN 1 Bangsri, Jepara, Central Java. This research is a development research consist of plants identification and module development. The plants identification refer to internet and book. Module development refers to Sugiyono's model and its validity assessed by 4 validators. The effectiveness of module tested by pretest-posttest control group design. The sample class taken by cluster random sampling technique, 1 experiment class and 1 control class. There are 147 species plant in SMAN 1 Bangsri, they are member of divisio Bryophyta, Pteridophyta, and Spermatophyta. The content of module is a valid, presentation and graphics, and language are a very valid. The result of cognitive test significantly different between control and experiment class. The affective value which very good predicate in the experiment class higher than the control class, while the psychomotor value only a slight difference. The results of validity test and effectiveness of module Discovery Learning model based on the results of plants identification are feasible as teaching materials.

Abstract

Observation result according to five senior high schools in Semarang was found out that Plantae material was taught with the conceptual method by using limited learning media, such as handout book and students’ worksheet. Plantae material should be taught contextually by using a real object, so the students could find the concept. Contextual learning can be done by using a potential environment. One of the areas with abundant biological diversity especially ferns, located in Bukit Gentong, Kendal Regency. This diversity can be used to be learning media such as herbarium. Herbarium becomes one of the alternative learning media because it is easy to be brought, practical and effective. STEM-based arranged for herbarium media because it can be more interesting than other bases. This research’s objectives are 1) to develop Pteridophyta herbarium based on STEM to accomplish basic competency of 3.8 and 4.8, 2) to analyze Pteridophyta herbarium validity a learning media, and 3) to analyze the effectiveness of Pteridophyta herbarium media concerning to students’ marks. This method of this research used Research and Development by the ADDIE model. Research data consist of data validity and herbarium effectiveness, analyzed by quantitative descriptive. The result of this research show 1) Pteridophyta herbarium based on STEM media was appropriate with the basic competency of 3.8 and 4.8, 2) Pteridophyta herbarium media was very valid and suitable, and 3) Pteridophyta Herbarium media was effective to be applied in Plantae learning with students’ result completeness ≥75%.

Abstract

Metode Science Literacy Circles (SLC) merupakan metode pembelajaran secara diskusi kelompok yang melibatkan peran anggota kelompok (peran literacy circle) yang efektif untuk mencapai kemampuan literasi sains. Penelitian ini bertujuan menganalisis keefektifan penerapan metode SLC terhadap literasi sains aspek konteks, kompetensi (proses), konten, dan sikap sains pada materi perubahan lingkungan kelas X. Desain penelitian yang digunakan adalah Posttest-Only Control Design. Populasi penelitian adalah peserta didik kelas X MIPA SMA Negeri 1 Kedungwuni. Sampel penelitian diambil dengan teknik simple random sampling diperoleh kelas X MIPA 4 sebagai kelas eksperimen dan kelas X MIPA 3 sebagai kelas kontrol. Variabel bebas yaitu pembelajaran SLC pada materi perubahan lingkungan, dan variabel terikatnya yaitu kemampuan literasi sains aspek konten, konteks, kompetensi (proses), dan sikap sains. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa (1) Rerata persentase pencapaian kemampuan literasi sains peserta didik pada kelas eksperimen lebih tinggi dibandingkan kelas kontrol; (4)Rata-rata nilai sikap peduli lingkungan peserta didik kelas eksperimen berbeda signifikan terhadap kelas control; (3) Peserta didik memberikan tanggapan baik terhadap pelaksanaan pembelajaran dengan metode SLC; dan (4) Guru memberikan tanggapan baik terhadap pelaksanaan pembelajaran dengan SLC. Berdasarkan hasil penelitian dapat disimpulkan bahwa SLC efektif dalam mengoptimalkan kemampuan literasi sains dalam materi perubahan lingkungan.

Abstract

Abstrak ___________________________________________________________________ Penelitian ini bertujuan; (1) menganalisis karakteristik perangkat pembelajaran keanekaragaman hayati dengan memanfaatkan ekosistem mangrove sebagai sumber belajar, (2) menghasilkan perangkat pembelajaran keanekaragaman hayati dengan memanfaatkan ekosistem mangrove sebagai sumber belajar yang valid, (3) menguji keefektivan perangkat pembelajaran keanekaragaman hayati dengan memanfaatkan ekosistem mangrove terhadap soft skill dan hasil belajar siswa, dan (4) menganalisis keterterapan perangkat pembelajaran. Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah penelitian pengembangan yang terdiri atas 3 tahapan yaitu (1) pendifisian, (2) perancangan;  (3) pengembangan. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa (1) perangkat pembelajaran keanekaragaman hayati memiliki karakteristik ekosistem mangrove sebagai sumber belajar yang mengkaitkan materi keanekaragaman hayati ekosistem mangrove dengan pendekatan pembelajaran kontekstual yang berpusat pada siswa serta menggunakan metode pembelajaran cooperatif learning. (2) hasil validasi perangkat pembelajaran meliputi: (a) katagori valid yaitu bahan ajar dan penilaian instrumen soft skill, (b) katagori sangat valid yaitu silabus, RPP, LDS dan penilaian instrument soal evaluasi. (3) hasil uji efektivitas menunjukkan perangkat pembelajaran keanekaragaman hayati dengan memanfaatkan ekosistem mangrove sebagai sumber belajar efektif terhadap soft skill dan hasil belajar. Peningkatan soft skill dapat dilihat pada pertemuan kedua dan ketiga dengan nilai uji N-gain sebesar 0,327 dengan kriteria sedang, ketuntasan hasil belajar siswa 86,20%  dengan KKM disekolah 80%, hasil uji N-gain menunjukkan terdapat peningkatan hasil belajar dengan katagori sedang (0,57). Korelasi keseluruan aspek soft skill dengan hasil belajar nilai koefesiensi determinasi rtotal 53,4% dengan kriteria “sedang”. (4) hasil analisis respon siswa positif. Abstract ___________________________________________________________________ The aim of this study were to (1) analyze the characteristics of the learning device of biodiversity by utilizing the mangrove ecosystem as a source of learning, (2) produce a learning device biodiversity by utilizing the mangrove ecosystem as a learning resource that is valid, (3) test the effectiveness of the learning device of biodiversity by utilizing the mangrove ecosystem to soft skills and student learning outcomes, and (4) analyzing keterterapan learning device. The method used is the development of research which consists of three stages: (1) pendifisian, (2) design; (3) development. The results showed that (1) the study of biodiversity has the characteristics of mangrove ecosystems as a source of learning the material linking biodiversity mangrove ecosystem approach contextual learning and student-centered teaching methods for cooperative learning. (2) the results of the validation study include: (a) category valid ie teaching materials and soft skills assessment instruments, (b) the category of very valid that the syllabus, lesson plans, LDS and instrument ratings evaluation questions. (3) The test results demonstrate the effectiveness of the learning device of biodiversity by utilizing the mangrove ecosystem as a learning resource is effective against soft skills and learning outcomes. Improvement of soft skills can be seen in the second and third meetings with N-test value gain of 0.327 with the criteria of being, completeness student learning outcomes in schools KKM 86.20% to 80%, N-gain test results show there is a learning outcome with moderate category ( 0.57). Correlation keseluruan aspects of soft skills learning outcomes koefesiensi value determination rtotal 53.4% ​​with the criteria of "being". (4) the results of the analysis of the positive student response.

Abstract

The problem of small handmade paper industry comes from the not yet optimal quan- tity and quality of products that ultimately impact on continuity. The production of this paper is subject to weather, material limitations and handmade paper making techniques that ultimately affect  product  continuity.  Consumers  of  handmade  paper  generally  craftsmen  also  want  pa- per that varies in the manufacture of paper products. The objective of the activity is to improve the ability of small industries to improve the quantity and quality of handmade paper and hand- made paper products. Implementation of science and technology in making handmade paper pro- duces 6 variants of paper made from single raw material or mixture of mendong, grass, waste paper and banana debog with synthetic and natural staining and pattern using various forms of leaves. The use of cutting tools that vary and sharp also has produced 6 types of paper boxes made from handmade paper, including a form that is quite difficult to make such as round, oval or heart shape. The manufacture of products for a certain amount has been mastered so that small industries are able to accept orders in a relatively quick time according to the needs of consumers

Abstract

Mangifera indica L. var. wirasangka or wirasangka mango, a local plant in Tegal Regency, has a low population because it is rarely planted by people as its unknown nutritional content. To increase people's interest in planting, it is necessary to know the nutritional content of wirasangka mango. The aim of the study was to compare the nutritional content of wirasangka mango with three other varieties in Tegal Regency. This study used a one-factor completely randomized design. The factor was the mango variety which included six varieties, namely the varieties of wirasangka from three areas, okyong, tengkoeh, and golek. The variables observed were content of water, fiber, fructose, β-carotene, potassium and iron, as well as vitamin C and antioxidant activity. Normally distributed data were analyzed using One-Way Analysis of Variance and Least Significant Difference (LSD) test. Besides, the non-normally distribution data were analyzed using Kruskal Walis and continued with post-hoc test, i.e. Mann-Whitney. The results showed that the levels of water, dietary fiber, fructose, β-carotene, and iron were significantly different at the significance level of 0.1. Wirasangka mango has a higher fiber, and fructose content, but lower of β-carotene and iron content compared to okyong, tengkoeh and golek mangoes. The levels of vitamin C, potassium, and antioxidant activity of wirasangka mango were equivalent to the three other varieties studied. Thus the wirasangka mango has advantages which are expected to increase the interest of people in Tegal Regency to plant this variety. As a result, its population in the future will also increase.
