Abstract

Nasopharyngeal cancer has different malignancy types, based on its location. Themost frequent type of nasopharyngeal cancer is carcinoma of squamous cell whichhappens on cells inside nose, mouth, and throat. The rare types happened such assalivary gland tumor, lymphoma, and sarcoma. There are three main therapies totreat nasopharyngeal cancer; they are radiation therapy, surgery, and chemotherapy.The main treatment is radiation therapy or surgery and chemotherapy or combinationboth of them. Chemotherapy is often conducted as an additional treatment.Combination treatment between those three treatments optimally can be used fornasopharyngeal cancer patient based on the location and disease stadium. Radiationtherapy on nasopharyngeal cancer can caused some side effects, such as mucositis,salivary gland dysfunction, taste sense dysfunction and malnutrition, tooth disorders,bone transforming, cutaneous transforming, nerve disorders, decreasing ofintellectual, lost of hearing sense, complication of malignant cancer caused byradiation, and intracranial bleeding.

Abstract

Radiography as diagnostic tool is essential for treatment plan of implant. Manytechniques used to produce radiography are recommended to support the dentist inaccessing area of implantation. Many implant experts use panoramic radiography asguidelines of jaw bone evaluation as recommended by implant procedures. In orderto get optimal measurement, occlusal radiography technique can be added to evaluatethe bone thickness.panoramic and periapical radiography can solely evaluate thewidth and height of jaw bone. This study proposed to evaluate parametric value, aswidth, height, and thickness of jaw bone by conventional dental diagnosticradiography. This was observational study, with cross sectional design. Samples werechosen as population target that fulfilled samples criteria. Number of samples were 30and and analyzed using the SPSS program for Windows 14.0 and T-test. In this study,it can be concluded that there was significant difference before and after conversion ofall parametric radiography conventional tooth on jaw bone.

Abstract

The edentulous can be treated by many methods, in relevance to the more advancedtechnology in dentistry. Nowadays dental implant is more popular to replace the toothloss. This study was aimed to assess the implant placement before and after dentalimplant insertion through periapical radiographic examination. The subjects oftreatment consist of 30 implants which were inserted in aged of 20-50 years with onetooth loss, no history of sistemic disease with alveolar bone of 6 mm width and 10 mmheight. Analysis of distributed frequency and t-test showed the significant result ofimplant placement value before and after dental implant insertion through periapicalradiographic examination.
