Abstract

Rawa Pening Lake is a natural lake that offers a beautiful tourist destination with various kinds of food and souvenirs of Rawa Pening Lake in which these products become the superior products of the community and Local Government of Semarang Regency. Rawa Pening Lake does not only present natural beauty scenery but also provides various aquatic animals that bring economic welfare. By managing the potencies of natural resources while preserving ecosystem of the environment and the lake as well; then the community may obtain their welfare economically, socially, and culturally. This research will describe efforts of the community of Rawa Pening Lake in improving their economic and in developing tourism area of Rawa Pening Lake as the commodity for their welfare. This research uses qualitative method by using data collection technique through in-depth interview and involved observation. The community of Rawa Pening Lake becomes the main subject in the data collection. The research result shows that the dynamics of Rawa Pening Lake community in social, economic, and cultural life have important roles in realizing the improvement of economic and tourism in Rawa Pening Lake area. Community empowerment in entrepreneurship and tourism has increased the numbers of tourists who visit Rawa Pening Lake. Local culture and wisdom of the local community have supported tourism and entrepreneurship which in turns improve community welfare.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the contribution of economic value to the community and restore the natural function of the lake and maintain biodiversity. The qualitative description method is applied through journal reviews, documentation and field observations. The results of the study indicate that the joint commitment of all stakeholders and the community to be able to benefit optimally through scientific, social, political, ecological and economic approaches is necessary. Utilization of large eceng gondok helps reduce growth and bring benefits that can be used to meet maintenance needs. An environmentally sound development policy as a manifestation of sustainable tourism can be pursued through the implementation of a strategic plan, the Lake Ecosystem Rescue Movement, primary and tertiary activities.

Abstract

Folklore that wecan find in Nusantara (Indonesian archipelago) has its uses as an educational tool to remind us of an event and the name of a place and to entrust a message of prohibition and a moral message, a social protest, a hope, and an environmental protection. Naga Baru Klinting is a folklore developed in Ambarawa, Central Java. Rawa Pening is an area where the folklore is told. This oral folklore is one proof of the nobleness and high achievements of cultural science that were accepted by the ancient society. The value management system is delivered in the form of a story based on environmental and social conditions regarding the Naga Baru Klinting folklore. The concept of life that still upholds the relationship between ManNature-God makes life harmonious. Unfortunately, however, Rawa Pening is currently facing a situation resulted from the water hyacinth plants and waste that pollute the water. Naga Baru Klinting folklore has a moral message of controlling oneself to ensure personal safety in order to prevent an individual from doing improper actions. With a management system through folklore, it is expected to restore public awareness to conserve and care for natural resources and the environment as a supporting life force which brings goodness and prosperity to the local people and entire nation.

Abstract

Rawa Pening is one of the villages in Semarang Regency, Central Java. It is known as an area with a lot of problems, especially those that are related to environmental damage and cleanliness. Obstacles that are faced by the Rawa Pening community are the lack of motivation and awareness about the importance of environmental cleanliness, mainly in terms of disposing trash around the Lake of Rawa Pening and water hyacinth weeds problem in the lake. The aims of this study are 1) Building a village empowerment program in Rawa Pening village to improve environmental sustainability and cleanliness, 2) Explaining the strategies, tips, and mechanisms performed by the community in pursuing environmental sustainability and cleanliness. This study used a qualitative method with data collection techniques through in-depth interviews and FGDs as well as involved observations. The solution that can be carried out to overcome the problem of environmental damage is by conducting socialization of Rawa Pening village movement through local culture and community empowerment programs. The result of the community empowerment program is that Rawa Pening village can improve cleanliness and environmental sustainability through cultural awareness. The Rawa Pening village movement has improved environmental sustainability and cleanliness. With the awareness through culture and local wisdom, the Rawa Pening community is committed to make sustainable efforts from the clean and healthy Rawa Pening movement program.
