Abstract

To produce according to production targets, of course supported by machines and equipment at every stage of the process and must be operated effectively and efficiently. operating machinery and equipment effectively and efficiently requires a good machine maintenance system. The research method used is Overall Equipment Effectiveness. After conducting the research, the average value of the Overall Equipment Effectiveness of the wafer is 34.00%. This result is still far from the world class standard of 85%. It is known that the biggest losses that cause the low OEE value are reduced speed losses by 143.3% and defect losses by 9.68% of the total losses. What causes low losses consists of factors such as machines, humans, environment, and methods. . To reduce these losses, the company should provide skills training and knowledge to operators about signs of damage to the equipment. In addition, operators are given additional work in the form of equipment maintenance that is often used at work so that maintenance work can be more focused. Then the company must pay more attention to operator comfort in working so that fatigue can be reduced and operator productivity increases and increases operator awareness of the equipment they use.

Abstract

A forklift is a lifting tool that functions to move goods from one place to another, with a short distance and a certain height, this heavy equipment is very useful because it can move very heavy goods in a vertical or horizontal direction. Problems that are often especially related to damage to unit components at PT.XXX, which are composed of the main part, namely the forklift engine. Damage to this section can result in downtime and delay in the production process which results in machine performance being less effective and efficient. Effectiveness in the production process requires the right strategy to keep the machine in operation by determining the optimal maintenance time interval using the criticality analysis method. After calculating with the criticality analysis method, it is found that the components of the hydraulic system and transmission are critical components. Furthermore, preventive replacement measures for hydraulic system components can be taken after 6800 hours of operation. The transmission component can also be done after operating for 900 hours or during an overhaul. While the inspection action for hydraulic system components is carried out after operating for 620.76 hours, the transmission component is carried out after operating for 540.39 hours. After checking and inspection, the avaibility value of the two components is above 95%, which means that the inspection can increase availability and prevent downtime in the unit and optimize the production process.

Abstract

PT. XYZ is a palm oil factory (PKS) producing crude palm oil (CPO). PT. XYZ has not implemented an effective engine maintenance system. The maintenance system that has been implemented is corrective maintenance, which is making repairs when there is damage. In addition, it is also assisted with planned maintenance that is scheduled every week to clean production machines. Therefore it is necessary to identify machine components that are susceptible to damage (critical components) and it is necessary to take special care measures for critical machine components by implementing a predective maintenance schedule (Prevention). Simulation techniques, often known as Monte Carlo simulation, estimate reliability using sampling random scenario. Failure mode effect analisys (FMEA) is defined as a process used to determine the actions that should be taken to ensure that each physical item or a system can run properly according to the function desired by the user then based on data processing, replacement of the roller binding drum binding drum , angle iron welding, chain transmission component replacement, drum stopper bearing replacement. Replacement of the drum stopper bolt, replacement of the chain transmission part is very loose and the replacement of the iron is carried out in corrective maintenance (replacement of components after damage occurs). And the results at the lowest value on the thresher engine component are in the Loose Transmission Chain component, the repair rate is 0.5 hours and the number is 0.999737189. Based on the results of the analysis of numbers (availability), the highest number is found in Broken Elbow Iron with a repair rate of 3 hours and the number 0.999605833

Abstract

Abstract

Community service is one of the cores of the foundation's permanent lecturers' implementation of the Tri Dharma College policy at the Faculty of Engineering and Computers, Universitas Harapan Medan. Therefore, we from the Engineering lecturers at Harapan University Medan have a plan to provide a hand washing device which aims to participate in tackling the spread of covid-19. This hand washing tool uses an automatic system using an electric sensor. Where the system works, if we are going to wash our hands and right in the middle position, the water will come out of the discharge pipe, so it is not difficult for the water to come out of the pipe, there is no need to turn or press the faucet. So that the hand washing tool works automatically and economically, it is also not easily damaged.

Abstract

State Vocational School 1 Sei Rampah Serdang Bedagai Regency annually holds Competency Exams for Class XII Lightweight Vocational School, prior to conducting the National Examination. Every year almost 90% fail in the Competency Exams conducted by these students. Therefore we are from Faculty of Engineering and Computer teaching staff serve this Vocational School to hold Competency Test Training for Class XI Students, so as not to fail when they later in class XII, to carry out competency tests. As for the implementation of competency training are: Tune up competency test training, Electricity, Steering System, Over Hole Engine and chassis.

Abstract

Heat is defined as the heat energy possessed by a substance. In general, to detect the presence of heat possessed by an object that is by measuring the temperature of the object. Measurement of the amount of heat of reaction absorbed or released in a chemical reaction by experiment is called calorimetry. While the tool used to measure the amount of heat or calorific value released is a calorimeter. There are two types of calorimeters, namely bomb calorimeters and solution calorimeters. Bomb calorimeter serves as a tool to measure the number of calories or the calorific value of fuels such as bio ethanol and pertalite. The bomb calorimeter was then developed in a simple manner while still showing the function of the device. The stages carried out are defining, designing and developing using the admei 2560 micro controller. The research was carried out at the machine testing laboratory, Universitas Harapan Medan. In testing the calorific value of the fuel, the results of the LHV value for pertalite fuel are higher than for bio ethanol fuel. Meanwhile, the test results of the micro controller on the bomb calorimeter showed that the micro controller was effectively used in testing the calorific value calculation. The LHV value of each specimen of pertalite fuel and sugarcane bio ethanol fuel that the LHV value of pertalite fuel got the highest value compared to sugarcane bio ethanol fuel with a value of 8,501 Cal?kg, and for the LHV value of sugarcane bio ethanol got a value of 7, 33 Cal?kg.

Abstract

Population and economic growth makes electricity energy needs in Indonesia continue to increase every year. Based on the assumption of an average national economic growth growing at 6.1 percent per year and national population growth growing at 1.3 percent per year, according to the national electricity general plan for 2012-2031 Indonesia's average electricity demand is estimated at 11% per year. Increased electricity demand PT PLN (Persero) to be able to meet the needs of the community for electrical energy. Problems that arise in the company are specifically related to damage to the components in the Sipansihaporas hydropower unit which are composed of the main parts, namely turbines and generators. Damage to that section can result in downtime and delay in the production process which results in less effective and efficient machine performance. Effectiveness in the production process needs the right strategy to maintain the machine to operate is by determining the optimal maintenance time interval (Maintenance) of the equipment by using the criticality analysis method. After calculating the criticality analysis method, it was found that the guide vane and runner components are critical components. Furthermore, preventive replacement measures for the guide vane component can be carried out after operating for 4200 hours. The Runner component can also be performed after operating for 15800 hours or during overhaul. While the inspection action for the Guide vane component is performed after operating for 250 hours, the Runner component is carried out after operating for 1200 hours. After checking and checking the Avaibility value of the two components is above 95%

Abstract

One of the points stated in the Montreal and Kyoto protocol (1897 & 1997) is the elimination of the use of R-22 refrigerant (HCFC-22) and changing it with environmentally friendly refrigerants. The alternative is hydrocarbon refrigerants, which have been known since the early 1920s in refrigeration technology with other natural working fluids such as ammonia and carbon dioxide. One of the hydrocarbon refrigerants used in this study is Musicool (MC), which is produced by Pertamina's Processing Unit III Plaju. The purpose of this study was to determine the comparison of electrical energy consumption of AC Split 1 PK using 3 types of freon, namely R32, R410A, and MC22. The variables measured in this study were the working pressure of the refrigerant at the intake side of the compressor, voltage, electric current, and the testing time for 1 hour. Based on the analysis, it is obtained that the average split AC electricity consumption using freon R32 is 711.85 W, using R410A freon is 746.17 W, and using MC22 freon is 429.80 W. 301.85 kJ / kg, using R410A freon of 206.77 kJ / kg, using MC22 freon of 349.16 kJ / kg. The COP and EER AC Split values ​​are average using the R32 freon the COP value is 3.71 and the EER is 12.64, using the R410A freon the COP value is 3.55 and the EER is 12.09, and using the MC22 freon the COP value is 6.14 and EER of 20.94.

Abstract

Clean water is one of the primary needs for human life, the need for clean water in a building is an essential tool that the building management must take into account, and so this is an aspect of what the residents are concerned about. At building A and B in UPT. The management of The wood Rusunawa was drawn to average water capacity of 49 LPM for both buildings. So it comes from an impeller counting design is in diameter 0,137 mm) and out diameter ( 0,216 mm) 11 ( 62 , ( 25 ( 20 ) ( 33) mm and all sudu (z = 11). With the pumps specs used as input which is the speed of the motor = 2980 (Rpm), The level od sudu = 5 mm, and the level of shaft (S45C) = 58 Kg/ .
