Abstract

This study aims to (1) describe and explain the realization of the following Grice’s cooperative principles; (2) describe and explain the realization of the violatting Grice’s cooperative principles; and (3) explains the relevance of Grice's principles of cooperation as teaching materials for high school speaking skills. This research is a qualitative descriptive research. Sources of data was a transcripted document form. The technique for taking the subject was done by purposive sampling. Data analysis in this study was using the flow model. The results of the study are as follows. First, the maxim of ’quantity’ of the Grice’s cooperative principle of was the most followed as many as 35 data (59,3%). Second, the maxim of ‘quantity’ was also the most violated as many as 33 data (48,5%). Third, Grice’s coopertive principles can be used as teaching materials of speaking skills in high school because (1) it provides guidance to students; (2) it provides guidance for teachers in giving score; and (3) it improves effectiveness in the learning process of speaking skills, especially in discussion activities.

Abstract

This research aims to explain: (1) preparation, implementation and assessment of learning, (2) problems encountered in the learning process, and (3) efforts made to overcome problems in the Indonesian Language learning process with Curriculum 2013 in the Class X in SMA N 1 Surakarta and Sekolah Indonesia Singapura.This research is a case study research. Samples in this research are the students of class X IPA III, and X IPA I SMA Negeri 1 Surakarta and students of class X IPA and X IPS Sekolah Indonesia Singapura.The sampling technique is purposive sampling.Technique of data collecting done by observation, interview, and document analysis.Data analysis technique is an interactive analysis model.The result of this research are description about: (1) lesson planning, (2) lesson implementation is not in accordance yet with RPP previously written by the teacher, (3) the assessment of learning has adopted an authentic approach according to Permendikbud Number 23 of 2016, (4) the problems faced are the inadequacy of the RPP with the latest regulation, limited learning resources, limited time and place, limited facilities, limited educators, difficulties in understanding and remembering material presented by teachers, limited knowledge and readiness of teachers, low understanding of Curriculum 2013 to student, and low student learning motivation, (5) the efforts undertaken are the school and teachers trying to follow the development related to the Curriculum 2013.

Abstract

This study aims to identify errors in the use of language in writing official letter to students SMAYPK Tabernakel Nabire, in the year 2017/2018. The research method used is qualitative research method with document analysis technique. The sample of the research is the writing of official letter of grade XII of SMA YPK Tabernakel Nabire. Sampling technique with purposive sampling technique. Source of data used in the form of the result of writing official letter of class XII students of YPK School Tabernakel Nabire. The result of this research is description about error of usage of Indonesian language in writing of official letter: mistake of language in writing of official letter there are 2 factors that is, morphology factor of syntax and spelling factor. The form of the language error is: 1) the error of writing letterhead, 2) writing letter address errors, 3) misconduct writing, 4) raw writing error, 5) mistakes writing date of letter making, 6) mistake of writing of opening letter, 7) mistake of the contents of the letter, 8) error writing letter number. 9) mistake writing address of letter agency, 10) mistake of writing cover letter. Based on the results of the study declared that the ability of writing official letters to students is still low. Improvements that can be taken is to improve the internal and external processes in learning Indonesian especially writing materials on YPK high school students Tabernakel Nabire.

Abstract

This research used qualitative research approach with psychology literature review. The data of this research came from the text in the novel Laut Bercerita while the data source came from the results of interviews with teachers, students, counseling and guidance’s teachers, and the authors. The data collection techniques using document analysis and interviews. The technique of taking research subjects with purposive sampling. Data validity using theory triangulation and data triangulation. Data analysis techniques using interactive analysis models which include data collection, data reduction activities, display data, and drawing conclusion. The research procedure consists of the preparation stage, the data collection stage, the data selection stage, the stage of conducting data analysis (interactive models), the stage of preparing the research report. The results of this research are 1) the novel Laut Bercerita has the completeness of intrinsic elements consisting of 7 elements, 2) the inner conflict in the main character can be understood through Sigmund Freud's theory (Id, Ego, Superego) that is able to be influenced by factors within the character itself or external factors of the people around him, 3) there are 12 values of character education contained in the novel Laut Bercerita, and 4) the novel Laut Bercerita is relevant when used as a teaching material for literary appreciation in SMA Negeri 5 Surakarta and SMA Muhammadiyah 1 Surakarta because it contains a lot of  positive values that can be realized for students in real life.

Abstract

This study aims to describe the planning, implementation, implementation of learning, obstacles encountered, and efforts made to overcome obstacles in accordance with the Curriculum 2013, especially on learning to write biographical text in SMP Negeri 4 Karanganyar. The description of such planning, implementation, constraints and efforts to find out their compliance with the Curriculum 2013. This research is a descriptive qualitative research using case study approach with single strategy terpancang. The results of this study are: (1) Learning planning in the form of RPP in accordance with the Curriculum 2013, but there is discrepancy in the three RPP that is the time allocation in the core activities is not written in detail at each activity steps. (2) Implementation of biography text writing lesson in accordance with RPP but there is non-conformity to time allocation. Assessment done by teacher when the process of learning and writing practice. (3) Constraints faced by teachers: inadequate learning resources, lack of interest and poor readiness of students in biographical texts, and students have not fully adapted to the 2013 curriculum. Teachers 'efforts: seek additional references from other sources, enthusiastic students' enthusiasm with games , giving the lecture method to the students. Constraints faced by students: the difficulty of defining themes and structures in biographical texts. Efforts by students: searching from other sources and asking the teacher.

Abstract

Variations may occur in the speech community that has two or more languages. Variations of these languages is the diversity of language and reflect the cultural diversity in the area Majenang. Of course, the diversity of language variation contained in Majenang background underlying the occurrence of a Varied language. Variations in language that will be displayed in this study is the language variation that occurs in the realm of social market, a market in which there Majenang. The purpose of this study is to describe the background of the realm of language variation terjadiya social Majenang said. This study is a qualitative approach to social and use the case study method. Collecting data in this study is observation, interview, tapping techniques, and study the documents. Tentunya keberagaman variasi bahasa yang terdapat di Majenang mempunyai latar belakang yang melandasi terjadinya suatu variaasi bahasa. Variasi bahasa yang akan dipaparkaan dalam penelitian ini merupakan variasi bahasa yang terjadi dalam ranah sosial yakni pasar, pasar yang terdapat di Majenang. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk mendeskripsikan latar belakang dari terjadiya variasi bahasa ranah sosial masyarakat tutur Majenang. Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian kualitatif dengan pendekatan sosiolinguistik dan mengggunakan metode studi kasus. Teknik pengumpulan data pada penelitian ini adalah teknik observasi, wawancara, teknik sadap, dan studi dokumen. Abstract

This study aims to increase student interest in learning to write poetry with epigonal techniques on students of class VII E SMP Negeri 16 Surakarta academic year 2016/2017. This research is a Classroom Action Research (PTK). This research was started from January 2017-August 2017. Data collection techniques used were observation techniques, interviews, tests, field notes, and document analysis. Data analysis techniques used in this study are descriptive comparative and critical analysis. The results of this study are the application of epigonal techniques which can increase student learning interest in learning to write poetry in class VII E SMP Negeri 16 Surakarta Lesson Year 2016/2017. This is seen in cycle I meeting 1, the percentage of students who were active during apperception 75.17%; attention and concentration 75,86%; and students' enthusiasm and enthusiasm when teachers delivered materials of 78.62%. In the second cycle of meeting 2 there was an increase of the students who were active during the apperception was 84.83%; attention and concentration 86,21%; and students' enthusiasm and enthusiasm when teachers delivered material 86.20%.Key words/phrases: Epigonal Techniques, Poetry Writing, Interests, classroom action research, Indonesian PENINGKATAN MINAT SISWA DALAM PEMBELAJARAN MENULIS PUISI MENGGUNAKAN TEKNIK EPIGONAL  AbstrakPenelitian ini bertujuan untuk meningkatan minat siswa dalam pembelajaran menulis puisi dengan teknik epigonal pada siswa kelas VII E SMP 16 Surakarta tahun pelajaran 2016/2017. Penelitian ini merupakan Penelitian Tindakan Kelas (PTK). Penelitian ini dimulai dari Januari 2017-Agustus 2017. Teknik pengumpulan data menggunakan teknik observasi, wawancara, tes, catatan lapangan, dan analisis dokumen. Teknik analisis data yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah deskriptif komparatif dan analisis kritis. Hasil penelitian ini adalah penerapan teknik epigonal dapat meningkatkan minat belajar siswa dalam pembelajaran menulis puisi  pada kelas VII E SMP Negeri 16 Surakarta Tahun Pelajaran 2016/2017. Hal ini terlihat pada siklus I pertemuan 1 persentase siswa yang aktif selama apersepsi 75,17%; perhatian dan konsentrasi 75,86%; dankeaktifan dan antusias siswa pada saat guru menyampaikan materi 78,62%. Pada siklus II pertemuan 2 terjadi peningkatan yaitu siswa yang aktif selama apersepsi adalah 84,83%; perhatian dan konsentrasi 86,21%; dankeaktifan dan antusias siswa pada saat guru menyampaikan materi 86,20%.Kata Kunci/frase: teknik epigonal, menulis puisi, minat, penelitian tindakan kelas, bahasa Indonesia.

Abstract

This paper aims to describe (1) psycological conflict experienced by the main character; (2) psycological symtomps affecting in behavior aspect of main character to solve the problem of life; (3) the value of characterized-education in the novel entitled Kerumunan Terakhir which is relevant as a material of Indonesian learning. The method used in this research is descriptive qualitative based on descriptive data that has been found in the research. The main source of data in the research is about the quotation contained in the novel and the interview result with the literature expert. The result of study is about relevance of Kerumunan Terakhir with the learning of Indonesian and character education based on problem whom experienced by main chracter in novel.

Abstract

This research is a psycholinguistic research because it discusses about language acquisition. Focus of language acquisition will be discussed is language acquisition of child with severe mental disability, namely Angga, and a child with mild mental disability, namely Rafli. The purpose of this study is to explain the language acquisition of child with severe mental disability and a child with mild mental disability. This research is a qualitative research. The data of this research is basic vocabularies of child with severe mental disability and a child with mild mental disability. This research strategy is case study. This research was conducted at SLB YKK Pacitan. In this study, observation and questionnaires were used to collect the data. The results of this study were Angga, child with severe mental disability, understands 56 basic vocabularies of 200 basic vocabularies provided, while Rafli, a child with mild mental disability, was able to understand the 170 basic vocabularies. This is reasonable because the ability of child with severe mental disability and a child with mild mental disability has been very different. The child's "ability to understand" is reflected in the IQ of each child, if a child with mild mental disability rate ranges from 50-55 to 70, the child with severe mental disability ranges from 20-25 to 35-40, so the ability to understand this basic vocabularies is different.Keywords: psycholinguistic, language acquisition, children with mental disabilities PEMEROLEHAN BAHASA ANAK TUNAGRAHITA DI KABUPATEN PACITANAbstrakPenelitian ini merupakan penelitian psikolinguistik karena membahas salah satu objeknya, yaitu pemerolehan bahasa. Pemerolehan bahasa pada penelitian ini berfokus kepada pemerolehan bahasa anak tunagrahita berat, yaitu Angga, dan anak tunagrahita ringan, yaitu Rafli. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah memaparkan pemerolehan bahasa pada anak tunagrahita berat dan anak tunagrahita ringan. Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian kualitatif. Data yang diperoleh dari penelitian ini yaitu kosa kata dasar anak tunagrahita ringan dan anak tunagrahita berat. Strategi penelitian ini yaitu studi kasus. Penelitian ini dilaksanakan di SLB YKK Pacitan. Dalam penelitian ini, peneliti menggunakan metode observasi dan juga angket untuk mengumpulkan data. Hasil penelitian ini yaitu Angga, anak tunagrahita berat, mampu memahami 56 kosa kata dasar dari total 200 kosa kata dasar yang disediakan, sementara Rafli, anak tunagrahita ringan, mampu memahami 170 kosa kata dasar dari total 200 kosa kata dasar yang disediakan. Hal ini wajar karena memang kemampuan anak tunagrahita berat dan ringan tentu saja berbeda, khususnya di dalam berbahasa. “Kemampuan memahami” anak tergambar pada IQ masing-masing anak, jika IQ tunagrahita ringan berkisar antara 50-55 hingga 70, maka tunagrahita berat berkisar 20-25 hingga 35-40, sehingga kemampuan memahami kosa kata dasar ini Angga dan Rafli berbeda.Kata kunci: psikolinguistik, pemerolehan bahasa, anak tunagrahita

Abstract

This study examines the use of languages by foreign students in learning the Indonesian language for foreign speakers (BIPA). Sociolinguistic approach is employed in which in-depth interview is used to elicit the reseach data. Sociolinguistic analysis is conducted by considering the social context of the speech components. The results show that the dominant use of Indonesian language by the learners is the language of instruction acquired in the process of learning the language. English emerges as the language of mediation between teachers and students spoken when they have difficulties in learning. Another language that appears in the language learning is Javanese which is the vernacular of Surakarta. Aspects of Indonesian cultural context should be taught to the learners. A variety of language styles for formal and informal conversation must be understood by foreign students so as to avoid errors in language usage.
