Abstract

Abstrak Pendekatan STEM merupakan alat untuk menghadapai abad 21 sekaligus alat untuk membenahi mutu pembelajaran sains di Indonesia. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menggali persepsi guru IPA terhadap pembelajaran STEM. Subjek penelitian adalah guru MGMP IPA di Surakarta dan Karanganyar. Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian studi kasus. Instrumen yang digunakan adalah angket. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa persepsi guru IPA yaitu: a) Mayoritas guru IPA masih kurang paham mengenai STEM; b) STEM merupakan sebuah pendekatan pembelajaran yang mengintegrasikan aspek sains, teknologi, matematik dan engineering; c) forum ilmiah seperti seminar, workshop, dan diklat pelatihan merupakan sumber utama promosi STEM bagi guru IPA; d) Mayoritas guru IPA memiliki persepsi bahwa STEM bermanfaat dalam meningkatkan keterampilan abad 21; e) Guru sangat tertarik menerapkan STEM dalam pembelajaran. Hal tersebut dibuktikan dengan 85% responden telah menerapkan pembelajaran STEM dalam rancangan pembelajarannya; f) STEM merupakan suatu pendekatan pembelajaran yang relevan dengan kurikulum 2013 dan abad 21; g) mayoritas guru IPA merasa masih kesulitan dalam menerapkan pembelajaran STEM. Studi mengenai persepsi guru terhadap suatu pembelajaran berperan penting dalam penyusunan gagasan program-program pengembangan profesionalisme guru. Program tersebut harus sesuai dengan kebutuhan guru dalam hal pengetahuan konten dan pedagogis untuk menerapkan pembelajaran STEM di kelas.Kata Kunci: Persepsi guru IPA, STEM  AbstractThe STEM approach is a tool to face the 21st century as well as a tool to improve the quality of science learning in Indonesia. This study aims to explore the perception of science teachers on STEM learning. The research subjects were MGMP science teachers in Surakarta and Karanganyar. This research is a case study research. The instrument used is a questionnaire. The results showed that the perceptions of science teachers were: a) The majority of science teachers still did not understand STEM; b) STEM is a learning approach that integrates aspects of science, technology, mathematics and engineering; c) scientific forums such as seminars, workshops, and training and education are the main sources of STEM promotion for science teachers; d) The majority of science teachers have the perception that STEM is useful in improving 21st century skills; e) Teachers are very interested in applying STEM in learning. This is evidenced by 85% of respondents have implemented STEM learning in their learning design; f) STEM is a learning approach that is relevant to the 2013 curriculum and 21st century learning; g) the majority of science teachers still find it difficult to implement STEM learning. The study of teachers' perceptions of learning plays an important role in formulating ideas for teacher professional development programs. The program must match the teacher's needs in terms of content and pedagogical knowledge to implement STEM learning in the classroom..Keywords: Science teacher perceptions, STEM

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk: 1) Mengembangkan model JiTT berbasis pendekatan saintifik, 2) Mengetahui kelayakan model JITT berbasis pendekatan saintifik, 3) Mengetahui efektivitas model JITT berbasis pendekatan saintifik untuk meningkatkan kemampuan berpikir analitis kelas X SMA pada materi jamur. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode Research and Development (R & D) mengacu pada model Borg & Gall dengan tahapan: 1) penelitian dan pengumpulan informasi, 2) perencanaan, 3) pengembangan produk awal, 4) uji coba permulaan, 5) revisi produk pertama, 6) uji lapangan terbatas, 7) revisi produk kedua, 8) uji lapangan operasional, 9) revisi produk ketiga, 10) disseminasi. Kelayakan model divalidasi oleh ahli model, ahli materi, guru biologi (praktisi), dan siswa. Pengumpulan data dilakukan dengan menggunakan angket, lembar observasi, wawancara, dan tes. Data penelitian dianalisis dengan metode deskriptif kualitatif dan deskriptif kuantitatif. Kemampuan belajar analitis dianalisis dengan mengunakan uji t (t test) dengan desain posttest only control group design. Berdasarkan hasil penelitian dapat disimpulkan sebagai berikut: 1) pengembangan model pembelajaran JiTT berbasis saintifik dilakukan dengan memperhatikan karakteristik dari model yaitu adanya sintaks, sistem sosial, sistem pendukung, peran siswa, peran guru, dampak intruksional, dan dampak pengiring, 2) hasil pengembangan model pembelajaran JiTT berbasis saintifik layak untuk diterapkan pada materi jamur. Kelayakan model pembelajaran JiTT berbasis saintifik berdasarkan penilaian dari ahli, praktisi, dan respon siswa yang secara keseluruhan memberikan kategori baik pada produk pengembangan, 3) model pembelajaran JiTT berbasis saintifik mampu meningkatkan kemampuan berpikir analitis siswa. Uji statistik pada kemampuan berpikir analitis menunjukkan ada perbedaan yang signifikan (sig 0,00 < 0,05) antara kelas kontrol dan kelas eksperimen.

Abstract

Geoscience is a study of earth, it is easy to find around everyday students ;ife. The aim of this research is to develop Geoscience Students Worksheets based on scientific work to enhance students scientific work and conceptual mastery also to test the validity of the Geoscience Students Wroksheets through experts appraisal and students response. This reasearch is R & D research using 4D model until Develop stage. Data collection techniques including survey and interview technique. The question in the questionnaire consists on closed ended and open ended, the close ended question it to measure the validity and students response while open ended question for obtaining suggestions from all experts and students. Moreover, interview conducted during preliminary study. There are two validators in this research, they are content and learning media expert with Science Education educational background. In addition, ten students respondents in this research are already took the Geoscience Course last year. Quantitative data was analyzed by comparing the score with certain criteria and qualitative data was analyzed with finding common topics. Validation result and students respon results show that Geoscience Students Worksheets is very valid with score from content expert, learning media expert, and students consecutively  90,01%, 85,70%, and 89,4%.

Abstract

This study aims to prove the effectiveness of the PjBL-STEM model on students' critical thinking ability in science learning. This research is a quasi-experimental study with a pretest-posttest control group design. The experimental class in this research received the treatment of the PjBL-STEM model, and the control class received the treatment of the PjBL model. The research population was class VIII students of SMP Negeri 1 Dukun for the 2022/2023 academic year, which consisted of six classes. Meanwhile, the research sample was selected using a cluster random sampling technique, with class VIII E as the experimental class and class VIII F as the control class. This research data is the difference in pretest-posttest scores (gain scores) of students' critical thinking ability, which was analyzed by the right-sided t-test. The results of the independent sample t-test showed tcountttable (4.0121.669) and Pvalue0.05 (0.0000.05), which means the test decision is H0 is rejected. So, it can be proven that the effect of the PjBL-STEM model on students' critical thinking skills in science learning is greater than the control class, which is supported by the N-gain value in the experimental class of 0.417 (medium) and control class of 0.246 (low).
