Abstract

This study aims to examine whether there is relationship between the ability of mathematical problem solving with emotional intelligence at students of Junior High School.The hypothesis of the study is that the students’ ability of mathematical problem solving which using discovery strategy in learning is better than students’ ability which using conventional learning strategy. The sample obtaining of the study is conducted by purposive sampling at the second year students of one of SMP in Purwakarta regency in academic years 2013/2014. The method used in this study is a qualitative study that quantified where quantitative method it self is used top rove the hypothesis by comparing the two classes with different treatments by using quasi experiment research design. The results hows that the mathematical problem solving ability of students who learning using the discovery method is the same as the conventional learning students.The results obtained from the mathematical problem solving ability of students who have completed the learning with discovery method, those quality does not in crease well. Although the obtained scores a chieved by students at the beginning of learning until the end of the lesson for the better.

Abstract

THE IMPLEMENTATION OF PROBING PROMPTING LEARNING MODEL ON UNDERSTANDING SKILLS OF STUDENT MATHEMATICS CONCEPT. This study aims to determine the ability of understanding the Probing Prompting grade VIII MTs MA Cikaliung model. The research method used posttest-only nonequivalent control group design. Based on the results of hypothesis testing obtained t count = 0.883 and ttable = -1.672 with significance level α = 0.05. The words H0 and H1 are rejected, things that require an understanding of mathematical concepts capable of digging better than others.

Abstract

The purpose of this research is to find out the extent of increasing mathematical understanding ability between students who get the Advance Organizer learning model and students who do not get the Advance Organizer learning model. This research is a quasi experimental design type of non equivalent pretest-postest control group design. The population in this research were students of information systems at the faculty of technology and information by taking a sample of two classes, namely class A as an experimental class and class B as a control class. The research instrument used was a mathematical understanding ability test. Based on the research results, it is known that there are differences of mathematical understanding ability between students who get the Advance Organizer learning model and those who do not get the Advance Organizer learning model. So by using the Advance Organizer learning model, it can improve the ability of mathematical understanding when compared to the learning process that does not use the Advance Organizer model. In addition, the activities and understanding of students in learning reflect the implementation of learning well and students give positive responses, where the learning that is carried out can further enhance students’ motivation and mathematical understanding abilities in solving problems.

Abstract

STRATEGIES TO STRENGTHEN STUDENTS TO BE READY FOR THE INDUSTRIAL REVOLUTION ERA 4.0 AND INCREASE THE ENTHUSIASM OF LEARNING WITH THE CONCEPT OF LAW OF ATTRACTION FOR HIGH SCHOOL STUDENTS IN MATHLA'UL ANWAR PANDEGLANG. Devotion to this society is attempting to give students through the primary purpose of the workshop about the scored students for ready to face the industrial revolution 4.0 and increase eager to study with the the law of attraction concept. Things that are provided with for students is an understanding of the era of the industrial revolution 4.0, for students, mental maturation an injection motivation, and increase passion for being students who superior. These efforts becomes strategy in preparing students for ready to face the era of the industrial revolution 4.0. Strategies are delivered to students through the concept of the Law of Attraction. The concept was to give effect both mentally, foster self-confidence, mindset, spirit, determination, and an attitude to face something. The objectives of this workshop are: 1) scored students for ready to confront the industrial revolution 4.0; 2) improve the quality of students that are highly competitive; 3) foster the understanding that the knowledge gained can be actualized in the community; 4) fosters an understanding of the use of digital technology and the Internet of things technology to boost productivity and competitiveness of students; 5) enhance the spirit of learning to boost student achievement.
