Abstract

This study aims to determine whether applying the Make A Math cooperative learning model can increase student learning activeness in mathematics. The type of research used is Classroom Action Research (PTK). This Classroom Action Research was carried out in two cycles, each of which included planning, action, observation and reflection. The sample in this study were all class VIIA students of SMP Negeri 7 Kebumen in the academic year 2018/2019, totaling 24 students. The instruments used in this study were observation, documentation and questionnaires.Based on the results of the study, it was concluded that the application of the Make a math type of cooperative learning model can increase student learning activeness in mathematics class VII SMP Negeri 7 Kebumen. The increase in student learning activeness can be seen in the questionnaire. Based on the questionnaire of student learning activeness using the Make A Type cooperative learning model, there was an increase from pre-cycle by 56.71% in the low category, increasing in the first cycle to 67.03% in the moderate category and increasing again in the second cycle, namely by 81.04%

Abstract

This study aims to: (1) determine the responses of students in learning mathematics with a cooperative model type Team Game Tournament (TGT). (2) determine whether using the cooperative model type Team Game Tournament (TGT) can improve students' mathematics learning activities. The type of research used is Classroom Action Research (CAR). The sample in this study were all grade V students of SD Negeri 1 Plumbon in the academic year 2019/2020 as many as 24 students. The instruments used in this study were observation, documentation and questionnaires. Based on the results of the study, it was concluded that: (1) The fifth grade students of SD Negeri 1 Plumbon gave a positive response to the implementation of learning mathematics using the Team Game Tournament (TGT) cooperative model. (2) the use of the Team Game Tournament (TGT) type cooperative model can increase student learning activities in the fifth grade mathematics subject of SD Negeri 1 Plumbon. This increase can be seen in the results of the observation sheet and questionnaire. Based on the observation sheet, it was found that the average percentage increase in pre-cycle was 36.97% to 61.45% in cycle I and 72.39% in cycle II. Meanwhile, based on the student learning activity questionnaire using the cooperative type Team Game Tournament (TGT) model, it also increased from the pre-cycle by 61.97%, increased to 74.88% in cycle I and increased again in cycle II which was 80.20%.

Abstract

This study aims to determine whether applying the Make A Math type of cooperative learning model can improve student learning outcomes in mathematics. The type of research used is Classroom Action Research. The sample in this study were all students of class VIIC SMP Negeri 7 Kebumen, totaling 24 students. The instruments used in this study were observation, documentation and tests Based on the results of the study, it was concluded that the application of the Make A Math type of cooperative learning model could improve student learning outcomes in mathematics class VIIC at SMP Negeri 7 Kebumen. The increase in student learning outcomes can be shown in the results of the final cycle test after applying the Make A Math type of cooperative learning model, the class average score was obtained with the results in the pre-cycle of 57.70; cycle I amounted to 67.08 and cycle II amounted to 78.95. With a percentage of completeness in the prasilkus of 33.33%, in the first cycle as many as 11 students completed with a percentage of 45.83% and in the second cycle there were 18 students who completed with a percentage of 75%

Abstract

Education and culture cannot be separated in daily life. Ethnomathematics exists to bridge the gap between culture and education, especially in mathematics. Humans are unaware of activities that use basic mathematical concepts and ideas like counting, measuring (length, area, volume, and weight), number construction, games, and buying-selling activities. This study examines and analyzes the Minangkabau traditional games in the scope of geometry. This research is exploratory research with an ethnographic approach. The subjects of this study were 6 players of the Sipak Rago game. The data was collected through observation, documentation, and interview to find mathematical concepts in the Sipak Rago game. Based on the research, there are mathematical concepts in the Sipak Rago game like the concept of circle elements, circle circumference formula, circle area formula, and angle on a circle.

Abstract

This research aims to describe the problem of cheating in reducing similarity using Turnitin software in writing scientific articles, as well as the factors causing cheating problems carried out by students. The research method used is qualitative with a case study approach. Data collection techniques include observation, documentation, and interviews with students taking the scientific paper course. The sample consists of students taking the scientific paper course with focus on research mathematics in Open University, Study Program X, using purposive sampling technique. The research findings indicate, there are cheating techniques used to reduce similarity that are undetectable by Turnitin: (1) adjusting spaces in a text that is too large or too small, (2) converting text files into images, (3) adding specific letters to the manuscript, (4) inserting specific small-sized numbers that are almost invisible, (5) intentionally making typing errors, and (6) adding specific symbols to the scientific article manuscript.
