Abstract

“Chronic kidney failure is a public health problem in the world, where the incidence of chronic renal failure is increasing every year. The increasing number of patients suffering from chronic renal failure will also increase the number of patients undergoing hemodialysis.hemodialysis is a way to replace the work that is usually done by the kidneys, namely cleaning the blood from metabolic waste, toxic substances and removing water deposits in the body. In this study, researchers used a survey analytic method with a cross sectional. The population in this study were 68 respondents, while the sample in this study was taken using accidental sampling namely 30 respondents. From statistical test using the chi-square test obtained p-Value = 0,028 < α = 0,05, where there is a relationship between hemodialysis and quality of life in patients withhh chronic renal failure in the hemoodialysis room of the RSU Sembiring. It is advisable for patients with chronic kidney failure who are undergoing hemodialysis to improve their good quality of life because the quality of life has a significant effect on patients suffering ffrom chronic kidney failure who are undergoing hemodialysis”.

Abstract

Chronic renal failure patients undergoing hemodialysis must comply with fluid restrictions, to prevent excess fluid from occurring which can worsen the condition of chronic kidney failure patients, but fluid restriction can lead to a decrease in oral intake resulting in dry mouth and tongue rarely flowing water and this condition can trigger thirst. One of the ways to manage thirst is with ice cube's therapy. The purpose of this study was to determine the effect of ice cube's therapy on reducing thirst in chronic kidney failure patients undergoing hemodialysis. Pre-experimental research design using a one group pretest-posttest design. The samples in this study amounted to 18 respondents using purposive sampling technique. The instrument for applying ice cube's therapy uses the VAS (Visual Analog Scale) for Assessment of Thirst Intensity. Ice cube's therapy is given for 5 minutes during the dialysis process. The results of the Paired T-test statistic in this study showed that there was a decrease in the intensity of thirst by an average of 2.56 with a significance value of p value = 0.000 (p <0.05). Based on the research findings, there is an effect of ice cube's therapy on reducing thirst in chronic kidney failure patients undergoing hemodialysis. The application of ice cube's therapy is proven to be able to reduce thirst so that it can be useful and applied to chronic kidney failure patients undergoing hemodialysis.

Abstract

Breast cancer is an abnormal cell division in the breast that cannot be controlled so that it spreads quickly. Pain is a factor that contributes to the emergence of fatigue in cancer patients, and has the potential for treatment. Chronic pain is a major healthcare problem for patients with cancer and a major treatment for cancer. Patients will often feel pain during illness or after following chemotherapy. This study aims to determine the relationship between chemotherapy actions and the incidence of muscle pain in breast cancer patients at Sembiring Deli Tua Hospital in 2022. This study used quantitative correlation using a cross sectional approach, the number of samples in this study was 30 people with total side technique. , data collection using research instruments, for independent variables using medical records, and the dependent variable using a Numeric Rating Scale (NRS) questionnaire and observation sheets. The results showed that from 30 respondents. Based on the results of statistical test analysis using the Chi square test with a p-value of 0.028, the p value <0.05. These results indicate that Ha is accepted. Thus, it can be concluded that there is a significant relationship between chemotherapy action and the incidence of muscle pain in breast cancer patients at Sembiring General Hospital Deli Tua in 2022.
