Abstract

Increased mobility of transportation plays a major role in the economic growth of a region. Despite the rapid growth of the automotive industry, there are still quite a lot of people who use old-type vehicles to support their mobility. Conventional 4-cylinder engine is one type of engine that is widely used in public transportation modes. The purpose of this study was to obtain an analysis of the energy produced in a mixture of liquid fuel (pertalite) and gas (LPG) in a conventional engine 4-cylinder. The research method used was an experiment, carried out on a conventional engine 4-cylinder. A dynamometer is used to determine the power and torque produced. As for testing the rate of fuel consumption using a measuring burette, then the fuel consumption is calculated. The research data are arranged in tables and graphs to obtain the analysis of the energy produced at each rotation speed variation (Rpm). The results showed there were differences in power, torque and fuel consumption produced by a mixture of the two types of fuel used. For maximum power generated at a standard injector variation that uses Pertamax plus fuel of 11.61 kW and a maximum torque of 12.98 Nm. While the lowest power is produced by Pertamax using a racing injector of 2.26 kW and the lowest torque of 8.67 Nm. The lowest fuel consumption is obtained from the use of a standard fuel injector Pertamax plus of 0.12 kg / kW while the highest fuel consumption produced by Pertamax Plus uses a standard injector of 1.28 kg / kW.

Abstract

The application of heat exchanger still causes many problems. Research on the performance improvement of the heat exchanger is also conducted by adding baffle. This research is aimed at finding out the influence of spiral baffle on the performance of heat exchanger. Research is conducted by doing experiment. The heat exchanger used is the opposite flow type. The independent variable includes round and triangular springs with gap spacing of 1, 2 and 3 cm which are installed in the heat pipe. The flow rate of the water is varied by 100, 150, 200 and 250 ml / sec. The dependent variable includes the temperature of hot water (in and out) and the temperature of cold water (in and out). Temperature measurement is done by using a K type thermocouple every minute for 5 minutes. Discharge measurement is done by using flow meter and stopwatch. The results showed that there were effects of the spiral and water discharge variation on the rate of heat transfer. The phenomenon of water discharge is inversely proportional to the rate of temperature change. Maximum heat temperature displacement occurred at a variation of 1.5 cm with a flow rate of 31.25 was 1.44o. The minimum heat transfer temperature occurred at a variation of 0.5 cm with a flow rate of 38.46 was 0.82o. The maximum cold temperature heat transfer occurred at a variation of 1.5 cm with a flow rate of 31.25 was 0.52o and the minimum occurred at variation of 0.5 cm with a flow discharge of 38.46 was 0.14o.

Abstract

The development of security system is a positive development on reducing society’s anxiety of criminal act such as theft. The security systems that are being developed today are mostly home security systems, motor cycle and cars. So far, the security system for paddy fields or agricultural fields has been minimal studied. So far, security system in farming land has been studied but in minimum frequency, such as in orange field where thefts often occur even farmers had surrounded their farming land with fences. This device made of Pir Sensor that could detect humans, it uses ATmeg328P-PU as the CPU, SIM 800L as media or device in sending messages and battery as power source. Designing this device is easy enough and affordable, this device capable in calling registered phone number in pseudecode that had been input into the program.

Abstract

Ancaman penularan Virus Covid-19 salah satunya dipengaruhi oleh perilaku dan lingkungan kurang sehat pada suatu tempat manusia menjalani aktifitas. Seringkali tempat kerja belum cukup disiplin menjalankan protocol kesehatan. Minimnya pengetahuan dan kebiasaan memicu meningkatnya populasi yang rentan untuk tertular atau menularkan. Kegiatan ini bertujuan untuk memberikan sosialisasi tentang bahaya dan pencegahan penularan Covid-19 ditempat kerja. Edukasi yang diberikan meliputi langkah yang diambil atau protokol kesehatan dari pemerintah untuk diterapkan diantaranya, jaga jarak minimal 1 meter antar individu, selalu pakai masker jika beraktifitas di luar rumah, sering mencuci tangan, menggunakan handsanitizer dan lain sebagaianya. Dengan memberikan bantuan hand sanitizer otomatis mampu meminimalisir keborosan terhadap penggunaan cairan handsanitizer.

Abstract

This paper discusses the automatic transfer switch (ATS) in solar power plants. ATS is used to transfer the main electrical power to a backup power source (battery). PLN power cannot supply electricity continuously due to non-standard ATS installations, blackouts, disturbances to the generating system, and distribution system. Two ATS systems are proposed to control the switching process of PLN and PLTS automatically using inverter standby mode (ISM) and inverter off mode (IOM). The results of the application of ISM to PLN and PLTS can supply power needs based on switching techniques to avoid equipment damage. While IOM can save battery for inverter power supply.

Abstract

Refrigeration or cooling technology is increasing, especially regarding the coolant, almost all new vehicles now use air conditioning to condition the air in the vehicle cabin, but there are still many aspects that currently have not been paid much attention, especially to compressors, compressors for now still rely on the engine as a direct driver which makes fuel consumption more wasteful and reduces the performance of the vehicle. The purpose of this research is to modify a conventional compressor into an electric compressor by utilizing a split ac compressor. The research method uses the direct experimental method, can a split ac compressor replace a conventional compressor. Testing without changing a lot of the cooling system on the car, only changing the compressor without any other changes. The results of the research on split ac compressors can be applied to cars, but the cooling rate is slower than car ac compressors.

Abstract

The majority of rice farmers in Kalibaru Wetan Village only use rice bran conventionally, namely as a mixture of animal feed only. This is caused by the lack of community knowledge to process rice bran into high-value products, so that the partner problems that are our priority as the PKM team are: 1). The rice farmer group in Kalibaru Wetan Village has not maximized the results of milling rice bran into high-value products, 2) Traditional product management model, and 3) Local product marketing. Rice farmers in Kalibaru Wetan Village sell cheaply milled rice bran to middlemen or collectors for around 500-1000 per kg. This PKM activity partner is one of the farmer groups in Kalibaru Wetan Village which is chaired by Abdullah. The purpose of this service is so that rice farmers have knowledge of making rice bran oil, packaging rice bran oil and selling rice bran oil. The method implemented is by providing counseling and mentoring to male and female farmers in stages so that the monitoring and evaluation process is carried out more optimally on an ongoing basis. The results obtained are that the rice farmers of Kalibaru Wetan Village succeeded in making rice bran oil and were successful in designing, packaging products and selling products. It can be concluded that rice farmers can use the machine easily and increase their income.

Abstract

Injector is an important component in the diesel engine fuel injection system. This study aims to obtain the results of the in-line type injection pump calibration in the equation of the fuel volume of a 4 cylinder diesel motor. The research was conducted by making simple calibration equipment. Experiments were carried out for 200-300 rpm, 350-450 rpm and 550-600 rpm experimental apparatus rotation speed. Measurements are made for the volume of fuel using a measuring cup. Injection pump calibration is done by loosening the lock on the sleeve then sliding the sleeve to the left or right on each plunger to get fuel volume similarity. The results of data collection before calibration showed the volume of fuel was 26 ml, 30 ml, 30 ml, and 28 ml. Keywords: calibration, injecton pump, in-line, diesel engine

Abstract

Handling heat energy in the industrial world is very necessary. Heat exchangers have a fluid system that can be designed and developed using pipes. Heat transfer in a heat exchanger is a support for the performance of a heat exchanger to make it better. In this study, a heat exchanger was tested by placing a variety of barriers on the field of heat transfer flow and the addition of variations in the flow rate on the heat pipe. This test uses a aliran inch water flow pipe and a 2.5 inch iron tube pipe and a barrier material using aluminum. Based on the test results obtained a graph of varying heat transfer increases in each barrier. Differences in barrier variations and variations in water discharge greatly affect the value of heat transfer results. The purpose of this study was to look for the effectiveness and effect of adding a flow barrier to the performance of heat transfer in a heat exchanger. Abstract

Abstrak — Permintaan produksi buah naga di Desa Wringinpitu, Kecamatan Tegaldlimo, Kabupaten Banyuwangi meningkat yang dipengaruhi tingginya permintaan pasar secara kontinyu dan fresh. Kelompok tani Pak Bambang Diakrip hanya mampu memenuhi 50% dengan biaya operasional listrik sebesar 4,800,000 per bulan. Oleh sebab itu, teknologi panel surya 1500 WP (watt peak) diusulkan untuk mengurangi biaya operasional listrik pada lahan buah naga seluas 10,000 m2 serta upaya desa menuju agrowisata petik buah naga. Hasil instalasi teknologi panel surya dapat memberikan dampak kepada masyarakat dalam mengurangi biaya operasional listrik sebesar 1,400,000 per bulan. Produksi buah naga meningkat per tahun dengan rata-rata panen musim atau di luar musim adalah 2-3 ton. Selain itu perekonomian kelompok tani mengalami peningkatan sebesar 75% yang disebabkan oleh panen dan pengunjung wisatawan petik buah naga.
