Abstract

AbstractThis study aimed to determine the effect of the snowball throwing learning model on the ability to analyse fable texts. While the specific objectives of this study are 1) knowing the difference between snowball throwing learning models and conventional learning models; 2) knowing the difference in high group learning outcomes and low group learning outcomes; 3) knowing the interaction between learning models and learning outcomes on the ability to analyse fable texts. This study used a factorial design experimental method. The population in this study was students of Muhammadiyah Pontianak 1 Secondary School. The sample in this study was seventh grade students of Muhammadiyah 1 Pontianak Secondary School. The techniques of data collection in this study were measurement techniques with multiple choice test instruments, structured observation techniques, and documentation techniques. The results showed that there was a difference in the ability to examine the fable text treated between the snowball throwing learning model and the conventional learning model with Fcount > Ftable (13,377 > 4.03).Keywords: Conventional, Fable Text, Snowball Throwing

Abstract

Abstrak: Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui kemampuan siswa menentukan ide pokok, struktur isi, dan ciri bahasa dalam teks eksplanasi di kelas VII SMP Negeri 2 Pontianak. Metode yang digunakan adalah metode deskriptif dengan bentuk kuantitatif.Sampel penelitian ini adalah siswa kelas VII SMP Negeri 2 Pontianak dengan jumlah 65 orang. Hasilanalisis data menunjukkan bahwa kemampuan siswa menentukan ide pokok dalam teks eksplanasi mencapai persentase 86,46% dengan kategori baik sekali. Kemampuan siswa menetukan struktur isi dalam teks eksplanasi mencapai persentase 81,53% dengan kategori baik. Kemampuan siswa menentukan ciri bahasa dalam teks eksplanasi mencapai persentase 86,15% dengan kategori baik sekali. Berdasarkan hasil analisis dapat disimpulkan bahwa kemampuan siswa menetukan ide pokok, struktur isi, dan ciri bahasa dalam teks eksplanasi mencapai persentase 83,92% dengan kategori baik.   Kata Kunci: Ide Pokok, Struktur Isi, Ciri Bahasa, Teks Eksplanasi Abstract:The aims of this study were to know the ability of students determine the main idea, the content structure, and the language characteristic in the explanation text in Junior High School No 2 Class VII Pontianak. Descriptive method was used in this studywith quantitative form. The samples of this study were the students of Junior High School No 2 Class 7 Pontianak with the number of student were 65 students. The result showed that the ability of the student determine the main idea, the content structure, the language characteristic in the text explanation reach the percentage of 86,46% (verygood category), 81,53% (good category), 86,15 % (very good category), respectively.Based on theresults ofanalysiscould be concludedthat theability ofthe studentdeterminethe main idea, the content structure,andthe language characteristicin the textof explanationreachesa percentage83.92% (good category).   Keywords: Main Topic, Content Structure, Characteristic Language, Explanation Text Â
