Abstract

PT XYZ is engaged in the stamping and welding that produces various kinds of high-quality parts. There is a mismatch between the amount of material released with production, while the material tracking system applied does not provide clear information about the flow of material issued for production processes. This led to the use of the material becomes less effective. Material tracking system used is form called identity tag. This study aims to: (1) determine the influencing factors of problems on the amount of material work in process both planned and actual, (2) determine what types of most frequent problematic products on the amount of material work process, (3) determine an appropriate and effective system for PT XYZ in implementing manufacturing processes, (4) optimize the use of raw materials produced. Methods to solve the above problem are plan, do, check, action (PDCA) assisted with tools such as histograms, Pareto charts, cause-effect diagrams and kuesione. The result obtained and taken into consideration is giving improvement suggestions, which are doing more inspections by the production leader to reduce the error information written on the identity tag, and providing some additional columns, such as description and causes of the reduce in the amount of material that most often occurs. Based on the implementation results, the discrepancy percentage in the identity tag proposals decreases to 45.45% for small part, 53.33%, for medium part and 12.5% for large part, with a total percentage of 37.74% in week 1.

Abstract

PT “XYZ”is a manufacturing company specializing in pressed metal parts, dies, jigs and fixtures which is equipped with high-tech equipment and qualified human resources. PT “XYZ”used a system of safety stock (buffer stock) of three kanban to anticipate a shortage of stock or production of raw materials in the production process. A research was done at PT “XYZ”which focused on the degree of conformity between actual production planning by the state was obtained on the basis of the measurement of the product cycle, production capacity, actual production, production planning and material needs. The plan scheduling and material requirement planning used lot for lot method. It is needed to set the production scheduling with consideration of actual production plan where the production capacity of each product to be examined, namely the process ofbending klem = 680 pcs/hour, brake with bending process II = 680 pcs/hour and plat with a capacity of blank process = 1.888 pcs/hour which are used the maximum production capacity. Lead time and safety stock are also considered as factors affecting the scheduling. From the result of making MRP, we found that the material ordering must consider the capacity of a coil for each item and the on hand (inventory) from the last production. The production planning proposal of this research was able to fulfil the supply as many as three kanban. In addition, the planning could increase the work productivity as well as time and cost efficiency. The MRP with lotfor lot method was declared valid because it fulfilled the assumptions of MRP for some products. PT “XYZ”is expected to plan a system of procurement of raw materials and production systems in order to meet market demand with the number of raw material orde. The company was expected to pay attention to lead time to reduce the risk of material shortages for production.

Abstract

Currently the use of liquefied petroleum gas is urgently needed as a substituting fuel in both household sector and industrial sector. The Government’s program namely the conversion of kerosene to LPG encouraged people who still use kerosene as a fuel to switch to LPG. There are some public complaints about the quality of the conversion product such as conflagration that occurs frequently caused by the explosion of LPG tube. Application of SNI LPG tube related to the energy conversion program is expected to give a safer condition to the users. This study is conducted by analyzing the quality requirement of LPG tube products according to SNI as well as to identify the fulfillment of LPG tube products.

Abstract

PT. XYZ is a company engaged in manufacturing porcelain dinner ware such as plates, cups, teapot, bowl, etc Porcelain product is safe for use and product defect will only affect the aesthetic not the functional side. The company always maintain the quality of the products produced as by maintaining a good product, in terms of visuals, will keep customers interested in the product. Good quality products characterized by quality A / B and C, and the product defect characterized by the quality of D, Lost, and BU. Concepts and methods used to analyze is a statistical process control (SPC) which includes Pareto diagram, fraction nonconformities, flow charts and fishbone diagrams and management tools (fault tree analysis). Statistical Process Control (SPC) is one of the methods, which includes Pareto charts, fraction nonconformities, flow chart, and fishbone diagram and also management tools (fault tree analysis). SPC is useful to find the facts from the problems and factors that affect the quality of the products, while fault tree analysis is useful to analyze each of the production process.

Abstract

Lean production has dramatically lifted the competitiveness of many manufacturing companies and the value they deliver to customers. This project examines the benefit of balancing process and workstation arrangement of dogbone damper in an order that maintains a smooth flow of materials and component through the process. The analysis begins from calculating takt value to establish the required rate of production. From here, any total cycle time exceeding takt time is called a bottleneck process and should become a target of the improvement. Next, arranging people and equipment into cells has great advantage in terms of achieving lean goals. One advantage of cells is the one-piece flow concept, which states that each product moves through the process one unit a time without sudden interruption, at a pace determined by the customer?s need.

Abstract

Risk management is very important for the continuity of a business or activity. If a disaster occurs, such as fire or damage, the company will suffer huge losses, which can hinder, disrupt or even destroy business continuity or operations. Risk management is a tool to protect the company from any possible harm. So that in the management of logistical assistance, especially when a disaster occurs, both natural and non-natural, a risk management effort is needed in order to reduce the impact of losses in operations. This research uses explanatory type. The samples in this study were derived from elements of government, academia and society with qualitatively managed data. The results of the study found 8 risk categories that occurred in the logistical assistance process during the Covid-19 pandemic in Indonesia, namely: policy risk, compliance risk, legal risk, fraud risk, reputation risk, reputation risk and operational risk.
