Abstract

Women have made very significant contribution to the transmission of faith and one of thegreatest figure in the history of this transmission is St.Teresa of Jesus, the woman theologian of the sixteenth century Spain. Her theology is a mystagogy of prayer, to the highest mystical union with God. It is a theology based on her experience and narrated in the first person singular. Her theology is a theology of humility. She is a woman of inquiry and of wonder. She wrote during a time of intense ecclesiastical scrutiny of texts. Kaum perempuan telah memberikan kontribusi yang sangat berarti bagi penerusan iman dan salah satu tokoh terbesar dalam sejarah penerusan iman ini adalah St.Teresa Yesus, teolog perempuan Spanyol abad keenam belas. Teologinya adalah suatu mistik doa, hingga persatuan mistik tertinggi dengan Tuhan. Ini adalah teologi berdasarkan pengalamannya sendiri dan dikisahkan dalam sudut pandang orang pertama tunggal. Teologinya adalah teologi kerendahan hati. Dia adalah wanita yang selalu ‘mencari’ dan bertanya penuh kagum. Dia menulis pada saat gereja melakukan pengawasan yang ketat terhadap tulisan rohani (pada saat pemeriksaan teks gerejawi yang intens).

Abstract

The great Carmelite mystic, St.Teresa of Jesus, in her didactic and devotional poem titled Eficacia De La Paciencia or Efficacy of Patience gives this advice in the opening line “Let nothing trouble you” and concludes with this saying, “God alone suffices”. Who in this life can say this and when? What does it mean? What does it mean in practical life? What should we do? I try to answer these questions in the light of Scripture,the Book of Life.

Abstract

Reading poetry including that of the Bible is always a problem for many readers. The article intends to introduce the readers to the poetry of the prophets, to its distintive charactestics and to its soul. A good knowledge of the rhetoric of the prophets can be a great help for the formation of the present days servants of the word.

Abstract

This is a reading on the theology of the Passion of our Lord Jesus Christ according to John. It is a narrative theology and therefore must be listened by the believing communities as narrative. Jesus is the Lord of His Passion. His is doing the will of the Father. He is King of the Truth rejected by the Jews. His death is the birth of a new community and the source of its life. The author concludes his study with a short reflection on this great theology of the Passion for the Church. pendidikan. Oleh karena itu apa yang dikatakan Paulo Freire dan Illich dapat dibenarkan. Antara lain mereka mengatakan bahwa pendidikan yang selama ini dianggap sakral dan penuh kebajikan ternyata mengandung juga penindasan.

Abstract

There is a general sad observation that the formation of our priestly students is too intellectual to the detriment of its affective element. The students loose the capacity to perceive the things of beauty. How can this situation be remedied? The author of this article is of the opinion that one of the ways out is the study of the Bible as literature and the use of psalms in the atmosphere of beauty. As poetry of christian worship music, chant, oracle, wisdom, prayer, joyful praise and thanks, silence, dance, play, action and architecture are all main elements that make the psalms and therefore should integrated and manifested in their use. Only by then can the students be imbued by their feelings and emotions and be captivated by their beauty. The psalms are a school of integral formation.

Abstract

Abraham is called by the three monotheistic religions as friend of God. According to Gn 18:16b-33 he by his call is to become a friend of God. What does it mean? In wisdom theology of Wis 7-8 those who seek and love wisdom are called friends of God and in Jn 15:15 Christ calls all His disciples as His friends. This study tries to explore the relationship between these texts and its significance for the life of the Church in our time.

Abstract

This is a short study of mental prayer according to St. Teresa of Jesus, doctor of the Church. Mental prayer according to her ‘is nothing else than an intimate sharing between friends to be alone with Him who we know loves us’. This definition is biblical and ahead of Dei Verbum, art.2. God is our friend. Mental Prayer has to be the soul of vocal prayer. Both are closely related as appear in the teaching of Jesus on the persistence of prayer (Lk 11:1-4,5-8,9-13).

Abstract

To know who are the friends of Jesus is very important for every christian because He is “the way, the truth and the life” and “no one comes to the Father except through” Him (Jn 14:6). Abstract

Kita hidup di zaman teknologi. Perkembangannya begitu men- cengangkan sampai orang kehilangan kesadaran tentang dirinya. Dapatkah perkembangan ini tidak ada titik berhenti? Apakah yang dicari dan dirindukan manusia? Suatu dunia yang makin baik? Manusia yang makin beradab? Amerika Serikat misalnya sebagai negara yang paling canggih dalam kemampuan teknologinya tidak memperlihatkan bahwa kemajuan tek- nologinya membawa manusia makin baik. Di samping hal-hal yang menggembirakan untuk kebaikan umat manusia, kita melihat bahwa teknologi canggih untuk membunuh dan menghancurkan makin dikembangkan. Kita dapat mengatakan bahwa dia menjadi persoalan dan membawa banyak persoalan dalam dunia ini. Dunia kita tidak menjadi lebih beradab dan damai. Persoalan manusia di zaman revolusi industri 4.0 ini tidak berkurang malahan mungkin makin bertambah. Mengapa? Apakah karena orang mulai menyingkirkan Allah dalam pemikiran dan hidupnya seperti yang tampak dalam pandangan penganut Homo- deus? Saya tidak tahu. Akan tetapi, dalam konteks semacam ini para teolog (dan filsuf) tidak dapat berdiam diri. Mereka harus memberi pencerahan. Para teolog harus mempertanggung-jawabkan imannya akan Tuhan untuk membimbing umat menghayati imannya dengan lebih baik. Bagaimana kita harus menafsirkan situasi ini, mengapa orang sampai menyingkirkan Allah? Menurut Albert Schweitzer, seorang pemusik,filsuf, teolog dan dokter- misionaris (1875-1965), manusia itu bertindak etis kalau kehidupan itu suci baginya. Kalau Allah tidak ada lagi, maka manusia menjadi binatang buas. Kemajuan teknologi bisa membawa kebiadaban bila kehidupan itu tidak suci baginya.1 Tokoh besar ini menggandengkan tindakan etis dengan pengakuan akan Allah. Saya kira situasi orang yang kehilangan Allah ini patut ditanggapi dengan baik karena dampaknya bagi kehidupan juga besar sekali. Situasi orang kehilangan Allah ini mengingatkan saya akan Mzm 42- 43 di mana pertanyaan “di manakah Allahmu” muncul secara kuat dan membawa derita bagi pemazmur. Mungkin jawaban dan penderitaannya masih punya arti bagi kita. Dari sebab itu, saya mau merenungkan mazmur ini dan mencoba menanyakan maknanya bagi kita. Pertanyaan “di manakah Allahmu” adalah suatu pertanyaan yang tajam dan dapat mempunyai arti bagi siapa saja baik orang beriman maupun tak beriman.
