Humans have developed science to understand the phenomena they face in their lives. As such, the development of science is inexorably linked with epistemology because it emphasizes the question of truth—the focus of epistemology. The development of science and knowledge has been influenced by specific interests, motives, needs, and historic/cultural backgrounds. To ensure that science is developed in a manner best suited for Indonesian society, such development must be rooted in extant Indonesian cultural values, such as those found in Javanese culture. This study attempts to formulate Javanese epistemology as a basis for scientific development in Indonesia. It finds, first, that knowledge is known as “kawruh” among the Javanese people; second, knowledge is not always limited to the cognitive dimension; and third, a specific criterion for truth is harmony, or “pener”. Javanese people consider “rasa” capable of bringing humans to the supreme knowledge. Although objective knowledge exists, every individual achievement of reality is different. Javanese people consider the validity or truthfulness of statements/actions rooted in their harmony with the empirical rational principle of truth and the existing order, following the adage “bener tur pener”.

Abstrak: Tujuan kegiatan untuk (1) memperkuat kelembagaan dengan meningkatnya pemahaman mitra terhadap perubahan iklim, (2) memperkuat kelembagaan mitra dengan terbukanya akses pada kebijakan pemerintah hingga melakukan aksi iklim bersama, (3) inventarisasi aksi iklim di RW 13 Umban Sari melalui Sistem Registri Nasional Pengendalian Perubahan Iklim (SRN PPI). Mitra kegiatan adalah Kelompok Berkah Hijau Mandiri. Metode pelaksanaannya melalui (1) sosialisasi, (2) pendampingan administratif, dan (3) pendampingan praktik pengisian SRN PPI. Evaluasi kegiatan dengan (1) post-test dan pre-test, (2) monitoring akses, aset dan aksi bersama, (3) monitoring hasil pengisian SRN PPI. Hasil kegiatan adalah (1) meningkatnya jumlah mitra yang memahami aksi mitigasi dan adaptasi perubahan iklim; (2) keberhasilan mitra mendapatkan akses kebijakan dalam bentuk aset pengelolaan sampah, Kebun Bibit Rakyat dan terlaksananya berbagai aksi iklim bersama; dan (3) peningkatan 100% keterampilan mitra menginventarisasi SRN PPI dengan data aksi mitigasi dan adaptasi perubahan iklim. Dengan hasil ini maka kelembagaan mitra sangat kuat mendorong RW 13 Umban Sari masuk dalam program kampung iklim (Proklim).Abstract: The social activity’ objectives are to (1) strengthen institutions by increasing partners' understanding of climate change, (2) strengthen partner institutions by opening access to government policies for joint climate action, (3) take an inventory of climate action in RW 13 Umban Sari through the National Registration System for Controlling Climate Change (SRN PPI). The activity partner is ‘Mandiri Berkah Hijau Group’. The method of implementation is by (1) socialization, (2) administrative assistance, and (3) assistance in the practice of filling out the PPI SRN. Meanwhile, evaluation of activities by (1) post-test and pre-test, (2) monitoring of access, assets and joint actions, (3) monitoring the results of filling out the SRN PPI. The results of these activities indicate (1) an increase in the number of partners who understand climate change mitigation and adaptation actions; (2) the success of partners in gaining access to policies in the form of waste management assets, People's Nurseries and the implementation of various joint climate actions; and (3) 100% improvement of partner skills in inventorying SRN PPI with data on climate change mitigation and adaptation actions. With this result, partner institutions strongly encourage RW 13 Umban Sari to be included in the climate village program (Proklim).

This article reports an investigation of university students’ use of online Wikipedia site in writing their assignment or research report. Data were collected through a survey questionnaire and interview. First of all, a survey questionnaire was distributed among the learners (n=70) identifying their computer and internet literacy, frequency, strategy, and future orientation of using Wikipedia for their writing assignments or essays. Then, interviews with some lecturers (N=8) revealed teachers’ lack of awareness and agreement of Wikipedia in academic writing, partially due to the absence of Departmental policy. As the results, despite being already informed of the encyclopedia’s academic unreliability, Indonesian EFL informants in this study were proven to be familiar with computer and capable of using internet and incorporating Wikipedia materials when writing their essays at Andalas University. The data also indicated that students had improved their techniques of using the Wikipedia from copying-and-pasting to editing and paraphrasing. Half of them did not cross check Wikipedia article’s citations and references. Therefore, students’ awareness of the ease of Wikipedia may have encouraged them to consciously plagiarize in addition to the absence of their lecturers’ awareness upon this issue.

The corona virus pandemic indirectly has a very significant impact on aspects of human life, especially in the education aspect. Every role holder in education, both teachers, students, parents, must be ready to carry out the 4.0 revolution where learning is carried out online. The purpose of this community service activity is to provide socialization and share knowledge about the use of an application that can facilitate teachers in the assessment system or learning assessment which is usually carried out in class using paper replaced by using sophisticated applications that can be downloaded for free on the internet. The use of the application in question is Google form. This application aims to facilitate teachers in the assessment of learning evaluation. This activity made a significant contribution so that it was beneficial for partners in this activity are the teachers of SDN 117 Pekanbaru.

Language usage has functions to express ideas, and simultaneously can promote the speakers’ identities and social status. Identity markers such as race, gender, class and ethnicity have important roles to choose language used. This paper explores the correspondence between language, identity and social status as exposed in a classic film entitled “Guess who’s coming to dinner tonight” released in 1967. The utterance of the characters in the movie will be analyzed in order to illustrate the vital role of language as a part of promoting the speaker's identity and social status. The study also emphasizes language choice, such as specific vocabulary, and share attitude when discussing a sensitive topic. As a finding, there are significant points that language use inevitably promotes the speakers' social identity due to their academic backgrounds and beliefs.

AbstractThe serious global problem facing mankind today is climate change which requires adaptation and mitigation efforts. The purpose of this study was to determine the values contained in the Riau Malay Teaching Guide in relation to climate change mitigation policies. This study uses a qualitative method with an analytical approach to popular culture documents recorded by Tenas Effendy, Tunjuk Ajar Melayu (TAM) which has been designated as an intangible cultural heritage (WBTB) of Indonesia, with other main data sources observation and interviews with relevant sources. The writing uses a post-critical ethnographic approach, which has the principle of elevating the emic perspective of local culture in the midst of ethical goals and perspectives, namely climate change mitigation policies. Found various values in TAM that are relevant to the implementation of climate change mitigation policies, especially in forest and land fire control activities; the value of local wisdom in Malay teaching and learning is very universal; and there are obstacles because TAM is not a binding formal policy. This research contributes to anthropology in relation to administrative science. Especially finding the novelty of the role of local wisdom in the process and implementation of public policies for climate change mitigation.Keywords:  Riau Malay Culture, Tunjuk Ajar Melayu, Climate Change Policy AbstrakPerubahan iklim menjadi permasalahan global yang serius dihadapi umat manusia yang memerlukan upaya adaptasi dan mitigasi. Kajian ini guna mengetahui kandungan nilai dalam Tunjuk Ajar Melayu Riau dalam kaitannya dengan kebijakan mitigasi perubahan iklim. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode kualitatif dengan pendekatan analisis dokumen budaya popular catatan Tenas Effendy, yakni Tunjuk Ajar Melayu (TAM) yang telah ditetapkan ditetapkan sebagai warisan budaya tak benda (WBTB) Indonesia, dengan sumber data utama lainnya observasi dan wawancara dengan narasumber yang relevan. Adapun penulisan menggunakan pendekatan etnografi post kritis dalam hal ini kajian terhadap kebijakan mitigasi perubahan iklim. Ditemukan berbagai nilai-nilai dalam TAM yang relevan dengan implementasi kebijakan mitigasi perubahan iklim khususnya pada kegiatan pengendalian kebakaran hutan dan lahan; nilai kearifan lokal dalam tunjuk ajar Melayu bersifat sangat universal; dan terdapat hambatan karena TAM bukan kebijakan formal yang mengikat. Penelitian ini berkontribusi terhadap antropologi dalam kaitannya dengan ilmu administrasi. Terutama menemukan kebaruan peran kearifan lokal pada proses dan implementasi kebijakan publik untuk mitigasi perubahan iklim.Kata Kunci: Budaya Melayu Riau, Tunjuk Ajar Melayu, Kebijakan Perubahan Iklim

It is well-known that a teacher's primary responsibility is as an educator and facilitator for his pupils. However, in order to become more professional, teachers also need to improve their academic qualifications and skills to keep up with changes in science and technology. In particular, they need to publish scientific articles that share the knowledge they use in the classroom. Therefore, the purpose of this community service project is to help the teachers at SMA Negeri 1 Tualang with their publication endeavors, including the crafting of articles based on the best practice of their class observations and the implementation of the open journal system (OJS) for their submission. The activity is conducted conceptually and practically to make a significant contribution by making it easier for participating teachers to carry out the process of creating best practice articles and submitting them autonomously.

The ability of local governments to optimize existing resources is of course the key for regions in implementing regional autonomy. Law Number 23 of 2014 does not completely regulate the settlement of regional boundary disputes, but what regulates the determination and confirmation of territorial boundaries both on land and at sea is contained in the Regulation of the Minister of Home Affairs of the Republic of Indonesia Number 45 of 2016 concerning Guidelines for Determining and Affirming Village Boundary. Territorial border conflicts are things that often occur in several districts, cities and even villages. The dynamics of border governance between Penyengat Village and Rawa Mekar Jaya Village is a conflict that arises because of different views regarding the agreed boundaries. There are five indicators of border governance. The method used in this research is descriptive research method with a qualitative approach. Data collection techniques with literature study, in-depth interviews and observation. The results showed that the border management between Penyengat Village and Kampung Rawa Mekar Jaya had not been resolved as the government hoped, responsibility and equality in seeing the wishes of the community tended to be neglected. boundary.

This study discusses Political Education in Increasing Voter Participation by the KPU of Riau Province Ahead of the 2024 Election. The theory used is Ruslan's theory in Prof. Dr. M. Amien Rais, M.A. who put forward several variables, namely the ideological function, the development function, the distribution function, the reward function. While this research is a qualitative research with a descriptive design. The results of this study are that the Riau Province KPU carries out various programs and activities to increase voter participation in the upcoming 2024 elections, the forms of programs and activities carried out are, political education, election outreach and discussions held with participants and other election organizers such as the voters, security forces and other organizers and throughout the process of the election stages that have been carried out well and no election violations have been found by election participants. However, besides that, there are currently obstacles to the Riau Province KPU in increasing voter participation, including the existence of a legal vacuum that requires the KPU to carry out outreach, political education and voter participation in elections. There is a blockage in executive power, the executive's performance is still barren, and it is burdened with the politics of accommodation in carrying out its role. Citizens who do not exercise their right to vote are higher because they do not want to be mobilized compared to those who exercise their right to vote

The advent of digital technology has had a tremendous influence on many aspects of people's lives, including politics. The election season is a crucial time for individuals to absorb news on social media, which can lead to discontent and conflict among constituents. To address this issue, a community service project consisting of participatory activities to enhance digital literacy in Kampung Patin is conducted. People will be more equipped to engage in critical thinking while reading and receiving news and recognize and avoid hoaxes and fake news as a result. This project aims to assist the community in becoming more critical and encourage active reduction of erroneous information that can potentially destroy national unity.
